This music is very haunting, creepy and sensational for its time, to me The Curse of Fenric was the 7th Doctor's best story, Pipe organs, drums and lots more that makes the music awesome. I listen to the suite here pretty much every day and love it. As I am a True Classic Dr Who Fan and always will.

My favourite story. Love the music, the atmosphere, the characters (Captain Sorin is adorable. Damn Fenric :-{. ) and having one of the best cliffhangers. It's also good to listen to the Big Finish story Black & White for an amazing sequel to this fantastic episode!
I believe that Bad Wolf was made by Fenric as a sine that he's going to return. Remember that all the characters are the Wolfs of Fenric. And Bad Wolf only started 3 story's later (Survival, The Movie, The Day of the Doctor), and it suggests the Doctor is a Bad Wolf (of Fenric).

Darker? No. Angrier? Oh yes. Rose is pretty much Ace-lite, but 9 is absolutely nothing like 7.
Why does bad wolf mean that Fenric is doing maths?
(Really though, sine? Thats a pretty hard one to misspell)
If only the writers of the revived series had shown this level of acumen and actually wanted to promote deep links with the classic series…

Lovely soundtrack, but I prefer the re-scored version for the special edition. Type "Fenric Black Hearts" and click the Fenric clip of the Reverend - the music makes an already great scene even greater.

This episode is so creepy
Mark Ayres who wrote this score was denied a female solo vocalist by J N-T, however Dominic Glynn who did the score for Survival was allowed a solo Guitar player.
At the time I'd say it was McCoy's best adventure, helped by being totally filmed on location , a multi layered script & excellent performances. Nowadays , it's quite tame & I think the Wolves of Fenric as the original title is better .
