Chessbrah has gone from a fun chess channel to one of the best educational chess channels too, thanks to Aman's opening speedruns.
Yes while still maintaining the fun
Congratulations on your win against Borgov
Yes, Aman truly is the GOAT
Agree. At this point I am not even watching any other content. Aman's speedruns absorbs all my time. Too good.
You mean THE best
Aman is the funniest and most relatable GM, imo. Hope this channel continues to blow up with this chess boom. 💪
habits are the most educational chess series online imo. Aman gets the right amount of education - not too little as Eric, not overloading with irrelevancy compared to for instance Levy. And he is entertaining - both Eric and Aman are, unlike any other chess CZcamsr IMO, but I like Aman's humor better. I still chuckle when I recall him referring to taking the knight with a bishop as "premature ejaculation" instead of keeping the pin
@@edwin-jq4dp for pure educational purposes I think Daniel Naroditsky is the best, his "speedrun" goes really in depth and explains his moves very well
@@TheVegoran agreed but Naroditsky is not as entertaining and his speedruns are less beginner-friendly compared to the dumbed down gameplan of the habits imho
@@edwin-jq4dp yeah Aman, Eric, and Danya are the best chess CZcamsrs for sure
@@TheVegoran but Daniel gives you GM moves. Aman gives you moves based on rating. Both are amazing though. I just personally can learn from Daniel.
So easy to actually learn something with these while having a good time
I've studied my fair share of opening theory (not that it has helped me much tho) but the simple and concise teaching using speedruns has made me shift my openings around to what you play on them. It is nice that you don't quickly rattle off 10 different variations every move so it is easier to follow for those of us under 2000.
Precisely, memorization is usually for very specific variation or lines that GM's play, or critical theory (for example Evans Gambit lines) but around club level it is MUCH more important to learn concepts and ideas, instead of the exact moves. As most GM's say, when you're below 2000, don't memorize openings, instead understand what they are doing.
I have many times in club play known openings and when looking back on stockfish had +1 or +1,5 positions that I've lost or drawn because I didn't have ideas after moves 15-20.
I was once out shopping in St. Louis with my mom. We went into a grocery store for a couple of things and were just about go to the checkout when a loud grunt made us turn around. At first, neither of us were able to spot the source of the sound, and the other people around looked just as confused as us. Then came another grunt, even louder than before. Mom gave me a worried look. I wanted to say something reassuring to calm her nerves, but I was too focused on trying to spot the location of the sound. It had come from one of the shelves near us. I spotted unusual movement. People close to one of the shelves were throwing themselves out of the way. Another grunt. I recognized the voice. Then I saw him. Flying out into our lane, sitting crouched up in a shopping cart with beer stacked around him. Eric. Aman came running after the cart and grabbed hold of it right before it crashed into another shelf.
‘It’s him,’ Eric grunted, pointing straight at me.
‘Me?’ I exclaimed.
‘Do you know my son?’ Mom asked, with a slight shiver in her voice.
‘It’s him,’ Eric grunted again, still pointing straight at me.
‘Are you sure?’ Aman asked.
‘Yes! Get him back into his starting position.’
What happened next I still only remember in fragments. My therapist says it’s gonna take a long time, but that it’s unfortunately normal for traumas of that kind.
Eric jumping out of the cart. Mom grabbing my hand. The running. The catching up. The way they grabbed us. The screaming and the grunting. And the repetition of those horrible words. “Get him into his starting position. Get him into his starting position.” Not one night has passed since without me screaming those horrible words to pull me out of another nightmare. Don’t support these guys.
Aman’s english speedrun plus tomorrow eric’s hippo speedrun. it’s a good day to be alive
8:50 first round knockout specialist
Love the description of “the most English you can get; skinny legs, a big belly, and a pint of beer….”
LMFAO!
Best Chessbrah quote in history.
😂😂😂😂
Aman specifically waited till the Chess boxing event was distant, yet still relevant enough to use that first round KO line 🤣🤣🤣
I am like exclusively an English player and I’ve been looking all over for actual videos on it, so happy for this thanks Aman
I'm amazed these guys only just hit 300k subscribers. I've been watching regularly since about 7 or 8 years ago, when 300k for a chess channel would have been insane. But given the recent rise in the popularity of chess, I thought they might blow up more quickly.
It’s because they don’t dumb stuff down as much as levy
@@queencool710 What do you mean? Clickbaity titles and MAGNUS CARLSEN IS DONE with him riding a T rex in the thumbnail while shitting a nuke on Hikaru isn't cool with you?
@@WhiteWolfiee I feel like Levy is more like an Entertainer, he is still not a GM and like the Botez sisters he is more caught off in “creating fast consuming content”. Aman on the other hand is a GM, he knows Chess not only for CZcams but also for tournaments and the pure enjoyment of teaching it. That’s why Chessbrah video last 30-40 minutes, and Levy focuses on shorts.
And I feel I learned much more on Chessbrah content than on Levy’s one. I love watching Levy’s videos to entertain myself, not to learn
@@lorenzolione5239 lol chessbrah is better at educational content AND entertaining content. Have you never seen the original Jerome gambit video? None of levy’s content has 10% of the entertainment value as that one video.
I used to think this channel was all flash and little substance, but the speedrun series proved me way wrong. Great stuff.
i'm an english player and this is something i've been wanting for a long time. thanks aman!
Looking forward to more opening speedruns like this! Love your london speedrun so much and I will enjoy english speedrun as well
Always looking forward to all dem educational speedruns
Thank you for everything, Aman! Your work is amazing, I can watch you all day
Really looking forward to watching more of this series. I'm about 1600/1700 and play the English, so I think I'm going to learn lots!
Same here
"first round knockout, something I'm familiar with" - Aman
I love all of the speedrun series. I’ve gained quite a bit of rating just by expanding my repertoire through these games. It definitely helped me understand not only the opening theory, but the plans I need to make for the middle game as well.
Thanks Aman! Always love your opening speed runs, so much to learn.
"Skinny legs a belly and a pint of beer.".. Can you see me right now? That's incredible.
Congrats on 300k subscribers, Aman. Love you guys!
great educational content!!!!
Hey! Congrats on 300k subscribers. Well deserved indeed.
Love the speedruns, very educational. Awesome music btw
New speed run! This is epic!!! 😊
Always a blast watching Mr. Hambleton in his educational series
Keep these opening speed runs coming!
The chessboxing belt not being in a frame is starting to eat away at my soul.
This is perfect timing. I’ve been thinking about starting to learn the English 😮💨
Looking forward to this great speed run. Wondering (and hoping) we’ll get to see some Botvinnik setups perhaps in the 1700-1900 range
Just wondering if are incorporating some "Habits" in your speed runs, and if not how would these speed runs be different if you did. That has been my favorite chess series from Chessbrahs so far.
Thanks for your videos guys.
I always lose to this opening, can’t wait for the series!
Very cool thanks for explaining SO much, also Big fan of the music
Can't wait to learn a new opening! This is the best way to get started for sure
the instructiveness level 9000
Great stuff, thanks!
I've been waiting for this one 🤣
you said that the setup with e6 and g6 didn't make sense in game 1 because of the dead bishop, but game 2 you played a similar setup with e3 and g3. Maybe you should explain for the lower rated players why it makes sense for white in this case, because white's dark-squared bishop in g2 was as dead as black's light-squared bishop in g1.
fav chess channel by far
That feeling when he says “we’re gonna start right at the bottom at 800 elo” and you’re 700 rated. Fml. 🤦♂️
Honestly I would love another london run without a "move limit" tarnishing the whole point of the series.
Hambo! lets go! never played the english im ready to learn.
Thanks, Aman. I've been playing the english for a couple years and expect I'll learn some new things from this. Looking forward to it.
I'm a little surprised to see no one hung their rook on a8 in this episode. I expect that soon.
Aman you are such an excellent techer! Thanks bro
And it's the top engine opening. It's must mean something for the game.
Christmas came early 2023! 🤩🥳
Thanks, Aman!
🎁🎄🎁
IMO best way to learn new openings. It's like chess cours but for free and actually I was just looking for new one. Thx
May I propose the Botvinnik triangle in some of the games ? Thank you very much
Not a single chess CZcamsr compares to GM Aman honestly. Easily the greatest teacher and the funniest dude too. I would PAY to see exclusive content solely from him.
YOOOOO.
I'm an English opening lover, and I can't express how awesome this is to see. Man I'm so stoked for this!!! ❤🔥❤🔥
15:00 the fianchetto knight on opponent's side 😂
"We're gonna start at 800 ELO, right at the bottom" Me at 642 ELO :(
By doing a different opening with black and white aman creates two different speed runs at the same time. Now that’s content creation
Lovin' the background music!
Thanks for this
These are my fave instructional chess videos.
I really loved the video
A whole new meaning of T-Time.
My repertoire is litterally English with white and French with black! Looking forward to my range games at 1600!!
Fuk yeahhhh!!!! Aman doing an English run!!!!! My favourite GM doing a speed run on my fav opening for white.
hey thanks for this amazing series..would u consider a caro speed run?
After watching it I must admit that this video lived up to my very high expectations of it 😍
You're the best bro... Long live to Aman's speedruns!
Nice speed run. I was not used to play the english at all! Very instructive, even if at that elo it is not very reprensatative ;)
Just as i wanted to learn this opening. Perfect
more kings
english??
That new haircut looks awesome!
Damn. That second game had more hangings than medieval history 🤣
please do the scotch one day.
YESSS i need this king
For those wondering, I *think* that the username 'sterkurstrakur' is a play on 'sterker, strakker' which means 'stronger, tigher' in Dutch. I could be wrong of course!
it's strong boy in Icelandic
@@leifurgunnarsson8826 Cool!
I love the English opening. One of the best parts about it is that, with white, you can play the first three moves exactly the same every game regardless of what your opponent plays (c4, g4, Bg3) and you have a huge chance of winning because almost no one at the lower levels ever plays against it.
Still waiting for the next parts to come.
Why do 5 minute games feel like 10min rapid when Aman plays them, but when I play them it feels like bullet
Oh no, not the new intro with the belt in the back lol?! Looks good though champ, looking forward to learning a new opening on some real shit.
I was just getting a bit bored of spamming Kings indian, so this came at a good time
Love the content, but can someone explain why aman goes for e3 d4 when he specifically said that was bad with fianchetto bishop? Seems to me getting d4 in and controlling the centre is the same logic his opponents use, but he someone knows when to break the rules
OH YES AMAN HAMBLETON
Well I love the content and I appreciate the sharing of this awesome english run. I love the english and I want tot learn about it more and more.
The only thing bothering me is the background music. I understand everybody's tastes are differents though. For me, it is very distracting.
Thank you for the great chess content anyway.
oh my lord thank you for this, i'm llke 1400 rapid and finding english content for my level is awful
I’m learning the hedgehog against the English.
Aman is my favorite person to watch stream chess by a long shot. Way behind is Levi Jeans and Big Hickie
Can someone please tell me the name of the intro song?
Inb4 Darude - Sandstorm
any big chiefs know the song at around the 13:00 mark? im enamored
at 31:09 Qxc3? Queen exchange and rook for 2 pieces?
If anyone ever asks for a file on my opening repertoire, I’ll send them a link to the chessbrah channel
Guys hit the like button for these guys
As an Englishman, I can confirm that I DO play like this. Until I Botez gambit my Queen anyway 😭
I learned about chessbrah because of Eric. I stayed for Aman.
Hi thanks for teaching the English. Would you consider teaching the Njdorf with black? Similar to how you taught the Kings Indian. Much Obliged. Rosenzweig.
Speedrun ist best run
How to keep playing rated matches as White only?
afhverju Sterkur Strákur?
Wait is chessbrah sponsored by space station gaming? Or was that just personal t shirt choice
english is dope
800 elo! Right at the bottom.
* sad 700 noises*
Aman speedrun pog
Hair looks great 🦍
