- Elon Musk has called out US Vice President Kamala Harris’ “lie” in a tweet posted to X, formerly known as Twitter.
Mr Musk tweeted a screenshot of Ms Harris’ X post which had a community note included with several links correcting her statement on Donald Trump’s claim about abortion in America.
In the tweet, Mr Musk said: “When will politicians, or at least the intern who runs their account, learn that lying on this platform doesn’t work anymore?”
“It’s just a bald-faced lie,” Sky News host Caleb Bond said.

It is impossible for Trump, or any President for that matter to have any influence whatsoever regarding abortion. The US Supreme Court gave that matter back to the State governments. Here in Ohio we voted to amend the Ohio Constitution to include abortion. It is no longer under Federal jurisdiction, it belongs to the States as it always should have.

Besides which the SCOTUS, when overturning Roe v Wade, explained it was because the Constitution gave the Federal government had no authority to decide on abortion. In that instance it meant that there was no right to abortion guaranteed by the Feds, but it also means that neither can the Federal Government rule against it. It is a state issue. That is it. That is where it ends.

As a woman who is also an adult adoptee who went through an abusive adopted home and who has also experienced infertility, I do not understand how abortion has become a be-all for women's reproductive rights. Where are all the women who are championing making abortion accessible for all but not also fighting for women who face infertility and have to spend thousands of money to go through infertility because most healthcare insurance only covers up to a certain point of infertility, but not injections, IVF, surrogacy, etc? There is more to women's reproductive rights than just abortion, yet this fight has become about just abortion. Abortion was never meant to be about just birth control as it is used today.
If adoption can be at the state level versus the federal level, then so should abortion. While I don't like the man, Trump is right about this.
