- Beginning today, March 18th, 2024 you can charge your Rivian vehicle at over 15,000 compatible Tesla Supercharger locations across North America. Here's a walkthrough of what that looks like and how easy Plug and Charge is.

Hi, can you just pull in more on the passenger line and not block a 2nd dispenser? Maybe the cord is too short 🤔
V3 are very short so there’s not much room

Can Rivians charge on any Tesla Supercharger or are Supercharger limitations or exceptions?
I am talking about the capacity and power delivery of Superchargers not whether or not they are enabled for CCS vehicles. Also, how much is Tesla charging for this, same price per kWh as Teslas get, not the same, higher, what is it, etc.?
It's great that Rivian and Ford can now use some Tesla Super Chargers, but I think the question nobody is asking is - why are so many Tesla Super Chargers NOT included?
because only version 3 / version 4 superchargers are compatiable

Alot if people complain about Rivian charge curve. But no way my Model X plaid gets over 200kw at 50%
What’s the surcharge per kWh? I heard it was 30%. I also got the notification today for our R1S and I’m waiting for Rivian to send us the adapter. It’s a small price to pay using the supercharger when needed, but at least it’s reliable. With Rivian’s Adventure Network, EVgo for plug and charge, and now Tesla, it’s more freedom to drive. Thanks.
Do you have to have Tesla app downloaded to charge and account set up or can everything be done on the Rivian app?
It can all be done with the Rivian app
But how much was the charge per kWh?
It’ll vary but I paid $0.50/kWh

Did the system update the number of stalls displayed as AVAILABLE on the Nav since you blocked TWO spaces?
No the system only calculates ones stall
How did you get that screen with all the data on it?
Did you or can you alert your Rivian that you will charge at a Supercharger location? With a Tesla, it will start warming the batteries before arriving to allow a maximum charge rate. Does the Rivian have this option?
Yes! If you do a route that has you stop at a Supercharger or if you select one on the map, the battery will precondition
How long did you precondition for? In Tesla it sometimes starts an hour from the charge stop.
Thanks for the information. Great news, but tempered by certain V3/V4 Superchargers not being available. There’s a brand new one in the NorCal Sierras that was going to be a game changer for me but it’s not available - huge disappointment. Now it’s easier to get there, but I can’t stay there without charging, so I still can’t go there in my Rivian… For an “adventure” company, this is baffling.

Each Supercharger is different but this one I was paying $0.51/kWh

Tesla has figured thay roughly 200k miles is only a 10% dip in max capacity. For me, I will only have my R1T one, maybe two, years max. I go 100% whenever possible.

Point or is it just the v3 and v4
I don’t expect them to add V2 but Tesla can upgrade them to V3/4
@@riviantrackr I think there are hardware issues that prevent V2 to work with non Tesla cars.
