i love simu, but dam he said wayyy too much, it is a bit narcissistic to think he speaks for everyone, but i can understand why he won't sign the comic, you said it showed some typical chinese stuff in the film, and that's true but they were very respectful with it, i read Master of kung fu, WOW there's some outdated shit and i see why simu didn't want to sign, an example: shang chi's mom is a white woman in the comics (because saying they're stealing and raping white woman was a fearmongering thing back in the day to create fear) and fu man chu literally said he married a white woman because she had superior genes, like DAM

I’m Asian and find it odd he won’t sign historic comics. I mean it’s part of history and just was what it was. A part of our history. If anything just brings information of how things were. Things have changed for better. There’s less racism now.
Just sign the historic vintage books it’s not a big deal

Dude... if I can be truthful here... Shang-Chi wasn't all that great. There was a lot of things wrong with it. The movie was Aim towards non-asian audiences. They mixed in feminist wokeness. There's all the racist stereotypical Asian cliche in the movie. He's complaining about old comics? Does he know that's what he signed up for? Shang-Chi IS a 1 dimensional character.

If Mr. Liu is SO unhappy with how media is portraying Asians in movies then maybe he should start his own production company, write his own scripts and cast the way he would like to see his scripts cast. Otherwise, he should just focus on what he is being paid to do: ACT OUT THE SCRIPTS AS THEY ARE WRITTEN AND STOP COMPLAINING!!!!
