They have very little D....energy....
Messed the whole game up. This game was a defensive monster until that bs call.
I hope Lo hits like this in the league tho. He smoking everything and he hitting the right way. Damn what them refs talking bout.
What defensive energy? UCLA was averaging less than 25 PPG against Pac-12 teams coming into this game, and that number was boosted after putting up 42 against Stanford last week (Colorado lost to Stanford, at home, in case you forgot). UCLA was driving before the penalty/ejection, and would've gotten at least a FG (probably), putting them basically right on pace to score their usual amount of points against Pac-12 teams.
To be fair, Colorado was giving up about 39 PPG against Pac-12 teams before this game, so, I guess any kind of defensive energy at all was surprising to see.

Hard to avoid when that guy is 2ft taller than Shiloh. Regardless, he hit him with the STICK!
Wtf are you talking about? That makes it easier. A proper form tackle involves hitting the body, wrapping up, and driving
@@HoniTheCircleMaker13 That wasn't targeting regardless.
@HoniTheCircleMaker13 I've seen your comments in other threads so I've decided to chime in.. There's 2 types of tackles, The form hit and wrap that you speak of, And there's the Boom Stick!! Which was incorporated In the Madden Video games..It's how defensive players blow a player up, and offensive players run someone over.. You drop the shoulder and use it as a cannon.. Bad thing about this rule is that the helmets are most inevitably gonna collide in some form or fashion.. Shilo didn't use his helmet as a weapon, He clearly went shoulder first, it's just unfortunate the helmets collided secondary..
@@d.sweatt360 Did you really pull from Madden? 😂😂😂. No one is saying those hits aren't effective. They just aren't AS effective, and now they risk getting you ejected. It's the difference between a 360 degree dunk on a phase break, or just a basic 2 hand dunk.
Yeah, one is more exciting, but the other is a sure thing. I truly hope you were joking about Madden. No one learns to tackle that way, like no coach is teaching 360 degree dunks
@@ProducerStr8kdt the ref said different, which is why you tackle like coach teaches you to
The problem with this rule is helmet contact automatically means targeting. He lead with his shoulder. Of course helmet contact happens at the angle and how his body jerks. You can't prevent that unless you want guys to start taking people's knees out. I recall multiple NFL players saying they don't want defenders going low in these situations because their knees are their money.
Right, anytime you get shook your head gonna move…
@oleipettit5876 Also you can do a simple experiment at home. Turn to the side and lean your shoulder forward. What does your head do? Now put a helmet on it.
What you hit the other guy with first is what you "lead with".
@@bigmac27sauce59no need it will not have the same effect because of the lack of impact….
@oleipettit5876 my point is your head goes with your shoulder unless you force it back. My buddy is in the AEW(pro wrestling). It is one of the things that has to be drilled hard because shoulder blocks can easily lead to accidental headbutts.

The rule needs a slight adjustment because even if u lead with your shoulder, your head automatically comes with it. Helmet to helmet can’t be a automatic disqualification they gotta analyze everything
Too much common sense here. Gotta git rid of that nonsense!!!!!!!
That's why you learn to form tackle. You hit the body, wrap up, and drive. Shilo will learn when he hits a TE stronger than he thinks

Shoulder hit first and head to head was after the fact.
The only "targeting" here was 21 had Sanders on his jersey. Officials looking to prove a point.... they've been waiting for the chance to make a call like that. Disgusting call....
Clean hit!!!! That was a House Call....
They couldnt wait to get him out smh that DEFINITELY ISN'T targeting! Helmets didnt even connect honestly! He led with his shoulder his helmet is on his head his neck which is close to his shoulder blade if it drops his head will also smh.
Better watch the video again but goto settings and slow the video down…
I agree bro, they had to stop their momentum. That was a legal hit and great play by Shilo..
2 of the criteria for Targeting are :
-Leading with the helmet, shoulder, forearm, fist, hand or elbow to attack with forcible contact at the head or neck area (NOT just crown of helmet like everyone assumes)
-A receiver attempting to catch a forward pass or in position to receive a backward pass, or one who has completed a catch and has not had the time to protect himself or has not clearly become a ball runner
*Cited directly from P. FR-88 of the NCAA football regulations*
He intended to lead with should to chest, however, the contact ultimately resulted in a drastic helmet to face mask causing a snapping action of the receivers helmet if you play it back in slow motion (there is no exception for intended vs resulting contact location). Also, the receiver had only completed a partial step after turning his head to view the defender and had not enough time for defending the hit and is therefore considered a defenseless player by rule.
My personal feelings: this was a 50/50 call, unfortunately Shilo lost the toss up and was ejected. Erring on the side of caution is NEVER a bad idea especially if the refs feel like emotions are getting elevated. The no-targeting call on the Hunter hit vs CO state is also one I don't agree with for player safety sake. I want to see all these ballers play for years to come, Prime has a roster of beasts and he'll get them going. Just like the football teams, there is a human element involved in refereeing and you don't always agree. Trust me, I understand as a Seminole...
I heard this hit all all the way in Memphis 😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂
I played highschool from 2010-2014. This was a clean hit then and should be now, you take those get tf back up or sit tf down. Football not meant for the weak
Damn straight my brother! The game has gotten weak af! I’m glad you acknowledged that!
He lead with his shoulder but the crown of his helmet hit the ball carrier under the chin first….
That's right call it like you see it...
The way it looked to me They were so self centered they accidentally bumped into each other?!
Shallow flexing after the hit
That's impossible not to do
It's called Football...
Man that hit is clean as my glass table, targeting??
Poor Shilo that was a clean hit! Hit him so hard he was dizzy and then flexed on their sideline... They didn't like that!
That was one of the cleanest hits I’ve ever seen. Even inside the new rules
He hit him right in the face mask with the crown of his helmet dumbass
It’s filthy
That’s a clean hit
No
It was definitely a clean hit.
It used to be a clean hit that was the fault of the QB. Now it I an ejection.
Old primetime talked a big game before the start of the season but week after week we see his team has no discipline... That is a total reflection on the coach
If the NCAA had any shame they would be ashamed of essentially buying that Colorado State kid Burger King for his HIT on Travis Hunter…but ejecting dude for targeting in an actual tackle.
Shilo laying hit stick type tackles. 😂.
Shilo tackles like a girl soccer player
@@gunboomyour mom said the same about your dad probably
@@royrichardson9164 my mom said that about you..
GUYS THIS IS A GAME OF FOOTBALL REMEMBER!? You might as well put flags on them,it was a hard hit but a clean hit
Targeting
watch the replay helmet in the chin
He delivered a blow then. Good hit!!!
You heard the refs, guys.
They want defenders to start violently attacking players’ knees. That’s the only way to avoid your head being involved in a bang-bang hospital pass play like this.
Helmet contact is incidental and not intentional like him leading with the shoulder. This a good hard hit to try and dislodge ball and make the tackle. Not targeting.
Exactly, he led with the shoulder, sometimes you can’t avoid helmets colliding. 🤷🏿♂️
Nigga lead with the helmet y'all tripping 🤦🏾♂️
As I watch this game, it has became very obvious that there is a coaching and/or a player issue with the offensive line. UCLA is blitzing at will because no audibles with protection packages are being made to protect Shadeur.
USC? Lol. . You must be stuck in the past
@GeorgiazOwnKing My bad. 😆 Well my statement would have applied to USC too.
