I'm glad Pan mentioned Gyeon Interior Detailer. It's probably on my top 3 of detailing products I couldn't live without. It flashes super quickly with very light wiping which greatly reduces the risk of marring on piano black. It definitely has anti-static properties, although they don't advertise it. I've also used it to clean my computer monitors and TV screens.

You mentioned in previous videos that you now use the accupour more instead of just guessing. I used to do the same and just load everything with more than necessary. What I found helpful was to print some labels with a label maker and apply them to the accu pour itself. The labels have the ratios for corresponding products such as snow foam and reset, so every time I go to wash I know exactly how much to pour and it makes my life so much easier. No more wasting product either.

Just got around to watching today and it was very educational and entertaining. I enjoy it when you two take a deeper dive into a products chemistry and back story.
I also prefer to rinse from bottom up because it helps me know where I have pressure washer rinsed, especially if using a caustic or acidic prewash prior to a contact wash.
Question, do either of you two know Bob Hoyle & Chem-X touchless products? Seems his expertise is in detailing commercial and industrial equipment. The claim is a dual stage process, like Stars and Strips breaks the static bond of dirt and road film from the surface, allowing the high psi rinse to remove more grime than any single stage touchless or pre-wash application and also results in a neutral pH application.

Have you ever thought about trying out new coatings with this new venture you have with EAG? Might be a good opportunity to try some new stuff.
I haven't used them yet, but I think the DIY Detail coatings are pretty good stuff. If you take Yvan's experience, and add in the 30+ years of experience of his coating chemist... they might be one to watch. Ignoring the graphene aspect of the 3 year coating, all three coatings have some amount of silicon nitride which greatly increases flexibility and reduces fracturing of the coating (which causes failure). They're single layer coatings that are ready to go in one hour.
The new C6 professional coating offshoot is also interesting, but sadly they seem kind of stuck in that old business model of not selling their best coatings to consumers. The way Yvan tells it, he asked his coating chemist what a coating would look like if cost was not a factor. It costs $300 for a 30ml bottle.
The coatings are supposed to be very easy to apply, but any high spots left more than an hour can require wetsanding to remove. That seems to be the main reason they won't sell it to consumers. I say to heck with that. Anyone can buy a polisher and burn the paint off their car, but I can't buy your best coating because of high spot risk? It's nonsense.
Apparently they will have a consumer version coming out in a few weeks, C6 Hydro Lite, that has a lower concentration of the refined detonated nanodiamonds. They are calling it a 6 year coating with gloss, slickness, self cleaning and water behavior that is allegedly the best available. That coating will also cost $300.

  • @jeffc6832
    @jeffc6832 Před 3 měsíci

Labocosmetica Idrosave is a great rinseless, but it leaves a fair amount of (SIO2 derivative) protection. I've been using it here and there, but I haven't tested it on a coated vehicle yet to see if it negatively impacts coating performance like some toppers do.
I've moved away from using toppers on my coated vehicles and am only using rinseless (ONR, Absolute or DIY Detail) as my drying aid as they do not leave anything on the surface that changes the coating behavior. We deal with tons of road salt up here in MN and I'm noticing that coatings seem to perform better and get clogged less easily when they aren't topped with SIO2 or other drying aids that have durable cross-linking polymers.

      Overpriced.

I agree some of their products are expensive. But they do have some products that are close in price to other high end competitors: Stance Rim Coat and Miyabi Coat being two examples. And they do have some unique products in the marketplace such as the Hagakure Wash Sponge and the Anti-Aging Paint Cleaner that work incredibly well. And how do we define overpriced? Is something like the Mirka 3" polisher considered overpriced?@@whitegoodman7465

@Obsessed Garage is there any way to see that detailing master collection spreadsheet? I was currently building my setup with basically everything from your website but that list would help to build the kit

Great collab! You guys briefly touched on maintaining matte paint. Would you recommend the same dr. Beasley products for a car with matte ppf? I am looking for the best way to remove minor staining and water spots for my bronco with full matte ppf. Also interested in ways to improve hydrophobic properties safely without altering the matte ppf finish. Thanks in advance.

Can't the collection have choices. Would someone that wants the ceramic coating necessarily need colonite or power lock and vice versa. It's adding cost that's not needed.
Likewise there's 2 tar removers, a strong and mild leather cleaner. Like Pan says with geist, and option could be to have a choice of new car or used car.

I pull some of those extras out of the more basic packages. This one is the entire set of things I have in my cabinet.

How is the tool shorting process going? Do you have any portable or semi portable systems in mind too? Like the wera package system, their magnetic rails and in general every nice belt attachment… What’s your thoughts? Plus for the Milwaukee packout fans do you have any custom foam inlay with your favourite tools in mind?

Matt you might want to check your pricing in the spreadsheet for the Milwaukee 5 inch. Your spreadsheet said $878 and it’s on your website for $529

Great combo, listening to Matt for a while and there is Definitely some products that Don’t work for us here in Florida, and that’s probably the reason he dislike or he’s not Fan of some other products that people seem to love in like Idaho lol. Been looking like crazy for a No Salt whole house water filtration system but the internet is so shady with all this brand does OG offer any water filters or Matt have any recommendation?

A bit controversial opinion but park tool’s torque wrench is not good on the accuracy side of things, prefer Stahlwille electronic torque wrench with the solenoid( basically it clicks no beeping)

Hi Matt, what about offering upgrade packages. Say I start with basic, and then after 6 months, I want to get the products from the next level without necessarily buying the entire next level package.

I think Matt is slightly unusual in the fact that he tends to like to stick to single products where I would say most of us like a little variety.
Bilt Hamber Korrosol or Auto Wheel for iron remover.
    Primer polish?
    Gyeon Primer
    Labocosmetica Fiero

I’ll palm you a hundo if you disagree but Koch Chemie magic wheel cleaner is terrible especially for the price, I don’t understand the hype around it. One product you must try is Adam’s wheel and tire cleaner, it’s the Mirka of wheel cleaners. By far the best on the market. Brake buster seems like water compared to it.
