Wow Blaze is now Blaze the Bat and Rouge is now a Cat i'm sorry but when I heard this it triggered me to the Point I Face palmed but I did see the funny side too but Rouge Never Appeared in Sonic and The Black Knight The Knights are Sonic (King Arthur) Shadow (Sir Lancelot) Knuckles (Sir Gawain and Blaze (Sir Percival) lol
Nathaniel is the only person I know who can rank every Mario, Luigi, Sonic, Kirby, and Yoshi game and even every SpongeBob episode and make them very epic

I love how everyone thought sonic frontiers was gonna be bad, but once it released, everyone realized just how great the game is. The cyberspace levels are amazing and the boss fights are so much fun

I'm just happy that we finally got a good 3D mainline Sonic game since generations. It might not be the best Sonic game out there but it's definitely a decent one and a lot of fun in my opinion.

@@deaglehawkings2543 they're the weakest part of the game but I do think that the gameplay and level design is pretty good in them. I just wish that we had more visual themes than, green hill, sky sanctuary, chemical plant and city. I do agree that "amazing" isn't the perfect word to describe them though. I would rather call them "decent" or "fun" honestly.
Saying that Triple Trouble is worse than Boom and Secret Rings is the biggest tragedy of our lifetime.
Honestly I must say that your rankings of the Sonic 8 bit games was really unfair. I enjoy those ALL more than sonic 1 genesis (most of the time.)
Seeing Sonic Schoolhouse ranked above 8-bit Sonic 1 is certainly a thing I'm not expected to see everyday. But each in their own way I suppose.
This guy doesn’t have a clue. I get that Shadow the Hedgehog is not the best but ranking so many pinball games over it is ridiculous.
Knuckles Chaotix over genesis Sonic 1 is wild but then again im the person who likes Shadow 05 more than SA2 (SA1 is peak tho)

Being someone who played Sonic Colours DS when it first came out, sinking a bunch of time into it, getting to the final boss only to not mash quick enough for the final part of the fight, deleting my save file because of it, and playing it through again with even more enjoyment: It's a very unheard game and definitely deserves to be this highly ranked
It's so crazy how you actually fight the Mother Wisp in that version instead of just the Egg Nega Wisp that the Wii version had. DS by far had the better final fight of the two!
Both are great games! I wish Ultimate used the same lives mechanic as before though...
back when i was a kid and couldnt afford the games i wanted, and was limited by what i was allowed, i got sonic colors for the ds even though i wanted it for the wii. overall it was one of the most enjoyable experiences i had and it was one of the few games i actually had the attention to play all the way through.
I still have my current copy of Sonic Colours DS to this day and I love the game, way more than Sonic Colours Ultimate for the switch. I got it early into the game's life and then lost my first cartridge on a vacation, had never gotten past Starlight Carnival Act 1 on that cartridge, and I was DEVASTATED, as that was my all time favourite DS game. A few years later on Christmas, my mum had known how sad I had been about losing the game and managed to get ahold of a second hand cartridge of the game and I will be honest, that christmas I knew what my favourite present was and as soon as I got my ds that day, I worked out how to wipe the old save off of the cartridge and started a new game. It's the cartridge I finally beat the game, collected the chaos emeralds on, beat Mother Wisp and am trying to fully 100% the game still whenever I can play it
Ultimate just can't compare to the nostalgia I feel when playing Sonic Colours DS

I like what they were trying to do with them. To me, those sonic games are most charming, and I'll never deny they're flaws.
What kept sonic together over the years ain't the games, but his fandom, and the fact that we have that one sonic game we enjoy that makes us come back to it.
I like CD more than adventure 2 i think lost world from the little ive seen might be my least favorite of the 3D sonics tho
Another great thing about Sonic Adventure 2 is when you mash the A button during cutscenes, Big will make short little appearances. That just adds to the funny.
The cutscenes in the Sonic Adventure games are so so bad they’re good, they might actually be good.
Predicting Mania to be #1 and the Advance series to be pretty high up.

I love how he says Colors has no gimmicks, and yet the Wisps are technically a gimmick.
I think he meant no other gameplay styles or something, but games like Shadow only adds guns, which I say is more of an equivalent to wisps.
Shadow also adds vehicles and ten different endings.

watching this after they announced Tails, Knuckles and Amy as playable characters for Frontiers next year hits different. i’m so happy Frontiers is doing well and i truly hope Sonic Team stick to this format.

I kinda resent that Sonic Forces is so much higher than 06. Don't get me wrong your arguments for both games are perfectly valid, but at least Sonic 06 had some passion in it and wasn't afraid to implement new ideas. Forces was just too safe. Just a lazy copy and paste of Generations. Soulless, unambitious, and just too safe and formulaic
Even without glitches, 06 is fundamentally flawed. The art direction is ugly, the character animations are stiff and unexpressive, and the story is ridiculous at many points.
Forces is a bad execution of a formula people liked.

Anyone can come up with objective metrics to rank games. But, hearing their subjective opinion is what I find a lot more enjoyable.

I'm surprised to see the Master System and Game Gear games so low on the list, considering I have pretty fond memories of them, despite their slower speed and "screen crunch" (which they fixed in Triple Trouble by designing it with the Game Gear's specs and resolution in mind).
Ranking them lower than games that fundamentally don't work as intended honestly comes across as petty. They're not fast or overflowing with novelty but they're still well controlling and have quite a lot of replay value for the time through the in stage Emerald hiding places.
Hell, the stage designs being 'basic' is a good thing given how early they were and that players were still learning even basic tech like boss bouncing.
Well, some people do not like to play with Master System nor Game Gear and they prefer NES. That means more 8-bit Sega games for us =D

CDs a great game, you're just used to Sonic whizzing through the stages and getting it done. CD is an exploration based platformer, and like you even said introduced so many amazing things into the franchise.

Also, the ending where you just talked about what makes sonic special and you said how much you loved my personal favorite sonic game (Sonic Adventure 2 Battle) aside from its flaws was magical! there is no way sonic 3d blast (genesis), sonic 3d blast (saturn), sonic 3d blast (pc), and sonic 3d blast (director's cut) are all separate games, but sonic adventure and sonic adventure DX are not..

I absolutely loved Triple Trouble as a kid. I already loved Sonic as a kid from the cartoons so when I got my game gear with Sonic 2 I was so excited. The box hyped up the presence of my favorite character Tails, only for him to not be playable. Also, the game is ludicrously hard, even after revisiting it when I was older, and that bad ending crushed me. Without a Genesis to play the main series until way later with just standalone Sonic and Knuckles (no Tails), getting Triple Trouble which was much more forgiving, finally let me play as Tails, and had special stages for replay value, I adored that game and played through it so many times trying to get all of the emeralds. While a lot of this is nostalgia, I'll take it over Sonic 2 8-bit any day.

In my case, the best advance duo is Cream/Knuckles. It's pretty much Advance 2 Cream but with an auto hitbox around you. Sonic/Cream is also a very good combo for cheesing the final boss.

I have to disagree with so many of these placements. Who in their right mind ranks Sonic Triple Trouble lower than Sonic 1 GBA? Sonic Spinball Master System/GameGear was better than the 16-bit version which has worse controls & more unfair level design decisions. Sonic 1 Master System is much too low on the list to where it's clear you are biased against the 8-Bit games unfairly, although a few of them were awful.
