Alexander Volkanovki's Tell All Interview After Defeating Yair Rodriguez at UFC 290.
Alexander Volkanovski continued his reign as UFC featherweight champion with a statement in Las Vegas at UFC 290. Volkanovski completely dominated Yair Rodriguez both on the ground and on the feet, and ultimately earned the finish in the third round of the fight.
Volkanovski now moves to 1-1 on the year after suffering a loss to Islam Makhachev in his quest for the lightweight title, but even in that defeat, his stock and profile reached new heights. Volkanovski entered the bout in a tie for No. 1 in ESPN's pound-for-pound rankings.
In the co-main event, Alexandre Pantoja earned a split decision victory over Brandon Moreno to win flyweight gold. The bout was an instant classic as Pantoja used his ground game to hold off the strong boxing game of Moreno.

Just a meat and potatoes game that blends all the martial arts into 1 near perfect fighting system. Always humble, always trying to improve on your skillset and pursuing new goals/challenges.

He’s confident enough to believe in his ability, but humble enough to keep getting better with each fight. He beats every ‘specialist’ at their own game. To be one of the most talented fighters to ever live and still come off like a normal guy after all his success says everything about how he carries himself. Oh, and obviously no ped’s to speak of! If every ufc fighter was the same height and weight, Alex would beat them all!

Oliveira may have been the first one I watched and that got me into the sport, but man, Volk is built different and took me by storm when I first saw him. Immediately watched a lot of his fights back and the man became my all time favorite fighter. That'll never change whether he has double digit title defense, two belts, or loses UFC gold one day. I like Volk as a fighter and how he presents himself as an individual as well. I was going for Yair as I am Mexican. Volk is just different compared to any other fighter in the division. I don't see anyone beating him by out working him. If he were to lose, it'd have to be a clean KO otherwise I don't see him losing by decision or submission in featherweight class. Masterclass Volk.
This was supposed to be Volk’s most dangerous opponent, Idk how he does it but I am absolutely here to watch him at every turn.

In 100 years all fighters will have black belts in BJJ or the equivalent in Sambo, they’ll be elite level strikers, they’ll all have unbelievable takedown defense and even weight cutting will be taken to the next level.
