I bought everything. I'm going to do it in the spring because I don't want to break any plastic clips because of the cold, but I'm really looking forward to it
Chris haha your not wrong about that. I have bought many amazon LEDs over the course of three vehicles and only has issues with the longer bars. The key is getting the $40-$60 ones not the $20-$30 brands.
I like this:) I wondered how I may install some flood lights on my Ram. You ever figured out a switch for that center dash location next to the other two switches (traction control and tow/haul)?
Thanks for a great informational video. I'm gonna try this on my 2019 classic. When I do a new led headlights job this spring. But I notice the cheap wiring harness that it suggests, has a push button red light switch. Did you add that switch you have on your your dash by splicing it in ? If so where did you get that. Thanks again Bill
Thanks glad it helped! Yes I usually always buy one of those harnesses then I cut the switch off that it comes with. There will be three wires (red, black & yellow or white). I usually get a round three prong switch that pops into a 3/4" hole drilled in the trim plastic around your steering wheel. double check what is behind where you want to drill so there is enough room for the wiring that goes into the back of the switch. you will want to get Female Slip-On Solderless Terminal connectors that you crimp to the harnesses wires. each of these will slide onto one of the pins of the switch. The yellow or sometimes white wire is what activates the light on the switch . It is usually the center pin. I just added a link to the switch in the description of this video. Good luck!
Awesome dude! one question for you: I have the chrome grill that looks more like a cheese grater. Do you think the lights will shine through my grille like they do yours?
I don’t think it would be an issue at all, I would just play around with the location left to right where you mount it. I wish I spread my light further to each side bc they are a little covered by the vertical post of the grill in the center. Not at all noticeable though because lights are so bright.
Great question, if you used those smaller LED cubes I would say absolutely. not sure about the round ones I used, it would be close.... I just rewatched my vid and at minute 4:19 you can see It doesn't looks possible to fit all 4 round lights. I was thinking about getting two of the cubes to put in on the out sides of the round ones. might make a video of this soon so thanks for the idea.
Pretty good install video. However you said at one point about led "fog" lights, I'm just hoping you don't use those on the road that would be blinding
That large plate with the two big 15 mm bolts next to that little rubber hole thingy you mentioned, comes out. Drill a hole in that and you can run loads of wiring through it. That Giant firewall hole that's covered is for a clutch assembly if its a manual.
Mandofive4321 I have had these hooked up for almost a year now and my truck has sat for two weeks with out being started at one point and has been fine.
You are correct. The relay has a low voltage wire (Terminal 86, Google a relay wire diagram) that when energized will power the relay and let the higher voltage wire power the light. I have a switch in my truck that I have a wire run from battery to the switch and then another from the switch to the replay low voltage wire. The switch interrupts the source to the relay so you can control the on/off. You could also wire the low voltage source to any other electrical source like the high beams positive wire, fog lights or what ever you would want to control the on/off.
I haven't looked closely at that grill style. It might block out much of the light if you use the round ones I used. Maybe an LED cube or a short LED bar light would be better.
In theory yes, but the draw of these little leds is too minor to truly make an impact. Even so no battery is 100% efficient and will die over time anyways.
Prince Jabbo the hemi engines are very reliable you could get a solid 250-300k if it’s well maintained, usually it’s body rot that makes them un-passable for inspection
I installed rectangle lights on mine and your video helped big time!
I bought everything. I'm going to do it in the spring because I don't want to break any plastic clips because of the cold, but I'm really looking forward to it
Nice
Can’t wait to put mine in
Always on highway
And an hour drive one way at the break and 7 winter hours home time
Those are bright. You rolled the dice buying Amazon lights, and won.
Chris haha your not wrong about that. I have bought many amazon LEDs over the course of three vehicles and only has issues with the longer bars. The key is getting the $40-$60 ones not the $20-$30 brands.
Bro that’s a nice & simple yet powerful setup!!!
I'm a do it to my 17 and hook them up together with the light bar I have tucked in the bumper. thanks!!
hell yeah looks good man!!! bout to do that to mines!
Wow looking good ... I want to done that to my truck also. After I watched ur video! The 4” will fit to the grille? Thanks
Were these the spot lights of the flood light? Great vid!
Thanks and these are flood lights.
Have you noticed any light bounce having mounted them where you did? How sturdy is that mounting base?
Non at all it’s very sturdy.
I like this:) I wondered how I may install some flood lights on my Ram. You ever figured out a switch for that center dash location next to the other two switches (traction control and tow/haul)?
Yeah but they are stupid expensive wasn't worth it to me
2 years later...how are they holding up?
Great question especially for an Amazon light. I am very impressed they are still moisture free and as bright as the day i installed them.
Use an old type floor board switch, turn off and on with you foot.

Thank you for a great video can you please make video for wiring Harness thanks
That deserved a like and a comment 👏 🤘🙋 nice install . 👍 clean
Nice
that's fuggin legit dude.

On the bottom we’re you mounted the lights is that metal or plastic ?
Its plastic but very sturdy and durable.
Awesome dude! Do you think you could fit 4 back there? Or is that pushing it?

T & A Automotive no problem man!! I look forward to the install vid.
I have question….. when u take off your key and the ignition is all off the switch for light red light still on or off
If wired to the battery it will be on. Don’t worry that little light will not drain your battery.
Thx for the help
Pretty good install video. However you said at one point about led "fog" lights, I'm just hoping you don't use those on the road that would be blinding
I use them like high beams.
Looks great...
Do you know exactly which lights they were so I could order them?
www.amazon.com/dp/B00MDG14CC/ref=redir_mobile_desktop?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
How the active shutter will perform the job after that??
It’s fine there is no conflicts between the light and the shutter.
Pretty cool
Does the heat of the engine cause problemes with the lights?
👍👍!
What size wheels and offset are you running along with tires? Love the stance
Thank you! I have 20x10 wheels with -24 offset with 33x12.5r20
Wish you would've shown how you went thru the firewall
It’s just a rubber grommet you pull out of a hole directly under the steering wheel
That large plate with the two big 15 mm bolts next to that little rubber hole thingy you mentioned, comes out. Drill a hole in that and you can run loads of wiring through it. That Giant firewall hole that's covered is for a clutch assembly if its a manual.
What was the brand from Amazon you bought?
Nilight. The link is in the description.
Are these spot or flood lights
Flood
Has your battery died over night?
That would only happen if you left them on all night. LEDs have very little draw.
Mandofive4321 I have had these hooked up for almost a year now and my truck has sat for two weeks with out being started at one point and has been fine.
Why would the battery die if the lights switch is off? If you wire the switch correctly to a relay, then there is no draw on anything.
Just got my lights will try doing it myself hopefully I don't fuck shit up haha
Do you need to run a separate power to the relay to trigger it on, separate from battery positive?
You are correct. The relay has a low voltage wire (Terminal 86, Google a relay wire diagram) that when energized will power the relay and let the higher voltage wire power the light. I have a switch in my truck that I have a wire run from battery to the switch and then another from the switch to the replay low voltage wire. You could also wire the low voltage source to any other electrical source like the high beams positive wire, fog lights or what ever you would want to control the on/off.
Did you ever figure out how to wire your lights to the stock buttons?
maquire Stafford I have not yet, they sell the stock button clusters but are very expensive. I might look into it in the future.
Would these behind the grill type of lights work on the Big Horn style grill? That grill is less porous.
I haven't looked closely at that grill style. It might block out much of the light if you use the round ones I used. Maybe an LED cube or a short LED bar light would be better.
would there have been enough room to push the lights forward a bit to avoid cutting up top, or do they sit close to the grill as is?
no those round lights are very tall, you would have to get LED cubes or something that is shorter to avoid that
Thanks for the response! Having done it, do you wish you went with different lights or still like them?
have you noticed any cooling issues?
none
What size lights are they have2018 ram looking to set something up
I think they are 6”
I hv the same type of on off switch does your little red light stay on all the time. If so will it kill the battery?
In theory yes, but the draw of these little leds is too minor to truly make an impact. Even so no battery is 100% efficient and will die over time anyways.
You need to hook up the switch poroperly of the 3 pins and the LED will then be only on when the switch is on.
How many miles do you think an 06 ram will last. I have one that’s around 180-190 and I don’t know if I should do all these upgrades
Prince Jabbo the hemi engines are very reliable you could get a solid 250-300k if it’s well maintained, usually it’s body rot that makes them un-passable for inspection
I just sold mine with 180k on it. The body was rough but ran strong. Ingot $6700
Where did u get that mini torch
It’s a cigar lighter you can get at any cigar shop
Hey could you post the link to the lights?
Adrian Rojas yeah I will throw it up in the description but here it if for now.

Do the lights rub on the active shutter system?
There is a small gap so they do not
@@tomchristiana2948 Thanks. Do you notice any difference in temperature?
@@robertkuster6389 Nope not at all!
