    Yes yes yes! London's the best city and love it so much, never again will we go back to the boring days of london when food was so boring, so much food choice and so many different flavours, love it!

    I really miss London, especially Brixton. I use to work for nealsyard's remedies in Battersea Park, me and my good friend Ali would come here after work. Great times.

    Thanks for the nice walkabout. I live on the south coast now and used to drive the 109 bus through Brixton back in the 70's. Even further back, in the 60's I used to drive a greengrocers lorry for the Co-op. One day I recall driving this lorry through Brixton market and happened to catch one of the stalls with the back end of the lorry sending all of the stallholders goods all over the road :-(. Thanks again. Good stuff.

    Majority of shops and stalls are run and owned by Asians. Very few English, mainly Europeans, also run businesses. Caribbean foods are now mainly sold by Europeans and Asians.

    Love London its the only city which is heavily Multicultural in all areas of London where continental food is very wide range , London has so many cultures and doesn't reflect in other parts of the UK.

    There are some Jamaican stalls still around, but very few, as there are less Jamaicans in the UK now, about 870,000? Definitely less than a million. The people of colour in the UK are mainly African, with Asians top of the list and Chinese. (However Asians and Chinese are not described in terms of colour ).

    Thanks for the walk. I can't tell you how many times I walked this walk as a lad growing up on these streets, and my teenage years through to my early 20s. A few things have changed, like structurally, but on the whole it is the same place just different people. My time was from 1943 - 1969. I grew up in Leander Road, and then Claverdale Road, and finally Crownstone Court, St Matthias Road until I got married and moved away. Nice one.

      Why do you say London is a " bugger" C-P ?

    • @phillyguy2157
      @phillyguy2157 Před 8 lety

      +Isleofskye
      I meant bigger
      London is bigger in square miles than new York city that's what I meant

    • @Isleofskye
      @Isleofskye Před 7 lety

      "closed racially charged mind.".....Au Contrire C-P !....,My preference has been for Black British Women of Caribbean antecedency for 30 years and I have lived, worked and socialised with Black people since the 1970's. You heard the old joke about " I am not racist as I have a Black friend ! " well at many stahes over the last 40+ years I have had more Black friends than White but that is the LAST TIME you will hear anything you can remotely feel is "defensive: about my views.
      The problem with what I am about to say in a second comment is that these are " inconvenient TRUTHS" and I am sure you would rather we all ignored them but here goes...to be Conyinued..:)
