That would be me too. Back in the day, i would casually go 30-5 in FFA on an average day. Now I'm so used to the newer mechanics, I get wiped! Been forever since I even tried. I just prefer to reminisce the good days now instead 😂

Yea the Harrier was an all around better choice but for the sake of experimenting man I’d like to see you throw on Danger Close Pro and see if it improves it any because of how it boosts streaks, I know it makes the Harrier and Pavlow go crazy😂

They nerfed the attack helicopter so bad in this game. If it was at least as good as in COD 4, people might’ve used it more
in my days of MW2 I was like the "helicopter guy". I had the on me attack helicopter, pave low and choper guner.

Black Ops 2 had a great attack helicopter as well. It was stealthed, silent and had a set of flares. Plus it's taget acquisition speed was much faster. The problem with the MW2-2009 one is that it got target lock. It got focused on a target and kept chasing after it, unless someone shot it or the player died it would not change targets. It could also be one shotted with stingers. The newer AI choppers switch targets much faster and also engage much faster. The MW3 one had a serious improvement to its AI. It also lost the competition to the harrier in the Tier 7 kills slot.
The advantage it had in MW2 2009 is that it was so underwhelming, players ignored it more often than not. Since only the harrier was the real threat. That gave it surprise results when you woudlnt expect it, but highly inconsistent.
(lets not mention the MW3 strafe run, which gave others a free predator missile when the 5 choppers could be downed wiith 2 stingers.)

in hindsight maybe harrier would've been more balanced at 8 or 9 kills 😅 always took the spotlight from the attack heli. i think the heli does shoot down other killstreaks quicker tho ?

Been playing mw2 2009 almost everyday now as my main game. Everyone seems to be back on it in Australia which is good.

they did the attack helicopter dirty in this game. MW2 harrier was OP... airstrike, killed super fast AND destroyed other killstreaks. Swapping stealth bomber and harrier in terms of killstreak would make sense

I remember when this game came out, I used the attack helicopter and slept on the harriers for the longest time. Let's not forget that the attack helicopter doesn't even have flares 💀
I used to run the attack helicopter Pavelow, ac130 just to deny enemy air space. Nice thing about the choppers is you can call it in even when air space is full since it says it will come in once it is empty.
Most days I would start out with predator, harrier, chopper gunner. Once you drop that predator, the chopper is almost guaranteed! Haha Then if i was doing well, Id swap the predator for nuke, just in case.
No, it's the other way around, Harrier could come in when air space was full, but helicopter couldn't. That's why it led to sometimes insane situations where there'd be two Harriers on opposite sides that would ignore each other. They could also target enemy helicopters which made Harrier even more OP
It’s not so much that it was a trash kill streak, it was just that Harrier is OP for 7 kills.
Mainly because the Pave Low was SO much better and only costed 2 more kills! Or the harrier strike that costed the same 7 kills haha Another great video brother!
Not really only because of that, the helicopter was really bugged in MW2. It worked so well in CoD4, then they screwed something up in MW2 and it just couldn't target properly for unknown reason

Ive called in hundreds of these things for the 1000 kills prestige challenge and I still need like 160 more kills. Attack heli, sentry gun and stealth bomber are the most infuriating killstreaks to grind and it’s not even close.
Stealth bomber is so op on certain maps and game modes, but the other 2 for sure sucked to grind
I liked this video , refreshing to not see harrier strike haha, I used to do that back in the day. Because the harrier would get the stingers out.
So I used stealth bomber or Pred middle ac130 nuke becuase you catch them off guard
Would love to see you get a Nuke in Hardcore TDM if you can find a lobby. My hardcore setup back in the day was always silenced UMP with slight of hand, cold blooded, Ninja.
I used commando pro for the longest time, more for the added mobility than the lunge. But after a while I switched to ninja and never went back! So much more effective especially when knifining, I found the silence to be much more advantageous than the infamous lunge.

Pretty sure I saw more players die to falling Care Packages than the Attack Helicopter in this game.
I actually unknowingly got the care package kill challenge. Didnt even know I had done it until i was looking through the challenges one day and saw it was complete 😂 pure blind luck. In fact after prestiging a bunch of times I was always still bummed I could never complete that challenge again.
And other thing make the attack helicopter absolute useless is if anybody against you get harrier the harrier can easily

I used this maybe once. It was urine water. It shoots slow, does low damage, and tracks poorly. On Iw4x with a bot mod though, it’ll get a few kills.

So the balancing seems to be precision air strike it cost 1 less kill (does it strike 3 times?) Harrier gets 2 strikes and hovers then attack heli covers the whole map and I'd assume last longer?
Just got MW2 going again the other day, and my dumb ass unlocked attack chopper on accident instead of harrier. Then I see you make this video....lol we are all connected. It’s arguably better on FFA cause it tends to circle the map instead of staying still, it can shoot in any direction instead of harrier which has to point where it’s shooting, and it has a flare so you can’t down it with one stinger

You forgot to mention that the Harrier will shoot enemy attack helicopters down, but not the other way around (attack heli won’t shoot enemy harrier down).
Fun fact: if you call 2 attack helicopter in the same match, you unlock a Sheperd emblem.

But then again cold blooded wasn’t a thing in COD4 all you had was UAV jammer and that only worked on UAV’s not choppers

It's straight up nonsense they made this turd compete with the Harrier. Even if the Harrier couldn't shoot down enemy helicopters, blocked sending further killstreak rewards, and wasn't more effective at finding/eliminating targets, the uncounterable airstrike made it objectively superior. The airstrike alone most of the time would net you more kills, and honestly the precision airstrike was better than the AH, because again it was uncounterable and you were at least guaranteed its effect. The only thing the AH was really decent at was air superiority blocking the enemy's better helis.
The sentry gun was similarly outclassed by the pred, but that was mostly due to killstreak stacking where as the AH was objectively outclassed in basically every way, should've been a 6 (or at least the Harrier 8).
