- Past Participle ගැන ඔක්කොම සරලව සිංහලෙන්
In English the past participle of many verbs can be used as adjectives. Most people are aware of its use in making perfect tenses and the passive, but most students of English have very little knowledge of this use of past participles. For instance, the sentence "I'm scared" is not in the passive. The word "scare" is the past participle of the verb "scare" but in fact it's used as an adjective. More examples are
1. It's fixed.
2. The vase is broken.
3. The door is closed
4. It is finished.
5. The show is cancelled.
You will get a good grasp of the concept if you watch till the end of the lesson. Good luck!

👍👍👍✍️✍️✍️🙏🙏🙏
💚💚💚
Sir, what about " Door has been closed" or "the window has been broken" instead of just using "has closed" and " has broken" ? (In the last few segments of the lesson)
Highly appreciate your effort to make it clear covering every scenario of these patterns 👍
"The door has been closed" is the passive of "Someone has closed the door." - කවුරුහරි විසින් දොර වසා ඇත..
Okay.. Now only I got it after watching that segment again. You have mentioned that break and close have two meanings කඩනව කැඩෙනව and වහනව වැහෙනව.. In that case it's very clear that there is no need to use "been".
Thank you so much sir, for your attention to my question.
You are awesome !!❤
