    For a school that has given Jamaica so many world class athletes, I'm calling on some corporate companies in Jamaica to help them to fix that field. The athletes deserve to be training on better surfaces

    I always think the kids need to be trained for interviews as well as to run, cause if you make it big, chances are you will need to give an interview. Also, girls always tend to be more rounded, not just good at athletics but also in academics pr should I say more so (at least in Jamaica)

      these local news interviews ARE training them for when they "make it big". Patience.

    What you mean by kids should be trained for interview, all the need to do is just be themselves but talking the way that makes them comfortable outside of that then here comes the problem. The interviewer needs to shorten the questions. For me all they need to do is talk like a real Jamaican. No pretending.

    • @msnorris2588
      @msnorris2588 Před 2 lety +1

      Agreed. They did just fine. By the time they get to pro racing, they will undergo media training to accommodate the international audience. Until then, let them be kids please. Having local news interviews is a good way to start. Thanks.

      Stop being stupid. Being able to answer questions with some degree of intelligence, using correct grammar, is not a big ask. It does not mean you are pretending to be someone you are not, if you are required to use proper English. You can't wait until they become pro athletes before you start training them to deal with the media. I listen to so many pro Jamaican athletes being interviewed by international media, and it is embarrassing to think that English is our official language. Many of them sound so stupid and get the most basics of grammar incorrect. They cannot string words together correctly to make a simple sentence and often, their pronunciation of words is incorrect. I want to scream, just run and be admired for your running. Don't open your mouth because it sounds like you have not had even the most basic education... These star young athletes should start media training now so they handle it better when they get to the senior level.

    • @georgiabarker6852
      @georgiabarker6852 Před 2 lety +1

      @@boyblue566 I can understand why you don't see the need for them to develop their ability to use the English language correctly; the short comment you have made here is full of errors. You need to improve your spelling, punctuation and grammar.

    • @georgiabarker6852
      @georgiabarker6852 Před 2 lety +1

      @@msnorris2588 "media training to accommodate the international audience" should start now. With CZcams and other social media platforms, these young stars already have an international audience. Some of them come across as being really stupid and they should start working to correct that now.

    What is it with some of these young athletes why they interview so poorly? The ladies do so much better than the males. It’s scary!
