Enthralling Tactical Frame in the Final (re-edited) | Ronnie O'Sullivan vs Mark Selby

  • At a crucial moment in the tactical battle, O'Sullivan makes a funny blunder. Although it's certainly not fun for him. Shorter re-edition and sound enhancement.
    The statistics shown in the video correspond to the date of the match.
    Cesar Muroya created a unique editing technique to extract the essence of the game without losing the drama involved. Contextual information is also an innovation appreciated by viewers.
    This format is not intended to substitute the full version but rather to make snooker more accessible to new fans. The fluency and atmosphere of the game stay in a shorter length video, allowing even experienced fans to enjoy snooker at any time.

    I'm argentinian and here snooker isn't a thing, however when I came across a snooker video 2 years ago (or last year i can't remember lol) I became addicted to watch it. From all channels I've watched since then I'm sticking 100% with yours. Great matches, frames, editing, texts with cool information, etc. Thank you for your content!!

    What an entertaining frame! Just shows that the snooker doesn't always have to be perfect to be enjoyable to watch. As far as Ronnie is concerned it's just one frame lost whether it is like this or if Mark bangs in a 147, next frame is a whole new deal. Same in darts, if your opponent throws a nine darter...

    Sorry, this has nothing to do with the video. lol. But I just saw, Ronnie makes an average of $500,000 per year. Career earnings of like 12 million. I was just looking up the yearly earnings of other snooker players. For example McGill, He was the world number 13 just less than a year ago. He's slipped to 23 right now. But over the last 9 years since he's been a pro snooker player he's averaged $79,000 per year. It seems ridiculous to me how little these guys make. I didn't realize that until just today when I started looking in to it. Just to compare. The lowest paid NFL player this year made $600,000. The lowest paid Major League Baseball player this year made $587,000. Mcgill is not even the lowest paid snooker player. and he is in the top 20 in the world. making less than 80 grand per year. and then someone way down on the rankings list Basem Eltahhan's career earings are only $500. lol. He has only made $500 in his career as a pro snooker player. I can see why some only play for a couple years and then have to go find a regular job. Because unless they have a sponsor, they have to pay for travel, food, and hotels. and entry fees for the tournaments. If they aren't in the top 64 or 32 or better they aren't making any money for the tournament.

    • @TanayLuthra
      @TanayLuthra Před 4 lety +1

      yea because NFL requires extremely dangerous plays, and there is huge advertising power behind it. Total opposite for snooker, no danger, and the largest sponsor ive seen is burger king...

      @goncaloamaral7846 Před 4 lety +3

      Benji The Bobcat The majority of Olympic sports have no commercial value, snooker is not alone.
      At one time, tobacco sponsorship kept snooker afloat financially but those days have gone.
      Ronnie is a commercial exception in that he probably earns more off the table, endorsing snooker products, sponsorships, tv shows, books, exhibitions etc
      Most people would rather earn 70-80k doing something you love rather than earning more in the 9 to 5 rat race.

    • @dylmanu333
      @dylmanu333 Před 4 lety +1

      it's not really a good comparison to compare with team sports. It would be a lot more interesting to compare the earnings to other individual sports(like golf or tennis).

    • @egroegartfart
      @egroegartfart Před 4 lety +1

      @@dylmanu333 it's the same thing. So the 100th ranked pga golfer makes 920,000 per year for the last 9 years. The 100th ranked snooker player right now has made 800 dollars per year for the last ten years. Yah I just think it sucks. They should make more money.

      @@CesarMuroya I'm a loyal subscriber of yours and I usually love your posts. I don't get this one. "Enthralling" means captivating, engrossing, fascinating, gripping or riveting. To be honest, now, this frame was none of those. No real drama other than Mark waaaay behind and needs to win a frame, or will R or M get out of this or that snooker. Too many missed shots, too many missed opportunities, really just a scrappy little frame of mildly interesting, mostly mediocre snooker, with a few flashes of fun here and there. Maybe it was enthralling to some, but I can't imagine why. Quite below your usual fantastic choices. But nevertheless it was Ronnie and Mark and beautifully edited so thanks a lot, they're always fun to watch.
