    08:40 - Conclusion
The video provides a detailed overview of Ola Electric's journey, from its inception to its current position as a key player in India's electric vehicle (EV) industry.
    1. Introduction:
In 2020, India sold 26,000 electric two-wheelers, increasing to 1 lakh per month by the end of 2023.
Ola Electric has been instrumental in this growth, emerging as a significant player in the EV revolution.
    2. Origin:
Ola Electric was founded in 2017 by Bhavish Aggarwal, the founder of Ola Cabs, with a vision to establish India as a global EV hub.
Recognizing the global shift towards electric and self-driving vehicles, Bhavish aimed to solve for electrification first, focusing on electric two-wheelers due to their dominance in India's vehicle fleet.
    3. Growth and Challenges:
Ola Electric acquired Etergo to accelerate the development of electric scooters.
Despite initial skepticism, Ola Electric launched the Ola S1 and S1 Pro scooters within a year of the acquisition.
The company achieved significant pre-orders, leveraging effective marketing strategies and competitive pricing.
However, challenges emerged, including delays in scooter deliveries, technical issues such as battery fires and software glitches, and internal leadership concerns.
    4. Future Plans:
Ola Electric aims to expand beyond scooters into electric motorcycles and cars.
Bhavish Aggarwal unveiled a line of electric motorcycles and plans to launch an electric car in December 2024.
The company is building the Gigafactory to produce lithium-ion batteries, aiming to control the entire supply chain and ensure quality and safety.
    5. Outro:
Bhavish Aggarwal's ambitious vision encompasses disrupting multiple industries, including mobility, automobiles, clean energy, and artificial intelligence (AI). Ola Electric represents a crucial component of this vision, with plans to integrate AI technology developed by Krutrim, another venture by Bhavish Aggarwal. In summary, Ola Electric's journey reflects the transformative potential of EVs in India's transportation landscape, driven by Bhavish Aggarwal's ambitious vision and strategic initiatives. Despite challenges, the company continues to innovate and expand its presence in the evolving EV market, aiming to establish India as a global leader in electric mobility.

So you are suggesting Ola is going to build a self driving scooter. Your research is a little suggestive. I am not sure Ola wanted to protect their cabs, but rather to get into manufacturing. You left out Simple Energy who also started at the same time but still not delivering. Please do a bit more research. The batteries are also in response to government incentives. He never promised self driving vehicles. All scooters from Ather, Ola, Okinawa Jetendra etc had fires until the government enforced better quality checks. Overall Ola is following India's government incentives along with the latest tech, similar to Tesla

I don't want to comment on the capabilities of Bhavesh and his business. But being an automobile enthusiast, I will comment on Ola's scooter. Simply put, this feature rich gimmicky scooter is of horrible quality. India is a market that values features over quality and thus, the sales are high in the interim. However, the poor after sales service and sheer harassment faced by the existing owners will soon mean that there will be no repeat customers. Before, Ola jumps into new ventures (Li-ion batteries, motorbikes, cars etc.) they should work on improving their product experience. Rapid growth and expansion are not the only recipes to a successful business ecosystem.

    • @evthink
      @evthink Před 5 měsíci +7

There is a lot of negative noise made by a minority of Ola owners on issues like delay in delivery or service. The vast majority of customers don't face any issues. On the ground, if you check with average people, most of them have very positive feedback on the vehicle and that is what is increasing the sales. There are quite a few owners with 2 or even 3 Ola Scooters.
It's just the intellectual bubble that gets threatened by growing EV market that hates Ola. If not for Ola market entry, Ather's next scooter would have been 3 lakhs, then 5 lakhs and then 15 lakhs. Ather would have loved to be niche player of EVs. Ola unleashed the EV Revolution in India. And it will 100% go to capture a large chunk of the EV Market in India by bringing the EV Revolution to bikes and hopefully Cars too.

I repeat NONE. You only hear from the minority owners who took to social media to express their outrage but take the time to listen to automobile reviewers and the daily users, you will see a harsher picture of the scooter.
