As a big Secretariat fan I was thrilled to see this movie and while it was entertaining I was a bit disappointed with how the movie's tone was that somehow the super natural engagement between Penny and Secretariat played a big role in Secretariat winning the Triple Crown, rather than just how much of a Superhorse Big Red really was...the movie even went so far as to have the horses that played Sham and Secretariat reversed in their physical builds; with Sham portrayed as the much bigger horse in the movie, whereas if you actually watch the races, the Haunches on Secretariat make shams look like twiggy.
The truly sad thing about this movie is that they did not mention Riva Ridge at all. And riva ridge kept that stable going so that secretariat could race. Shame on the producers.
Secratariet did not cheat. O.K. he had a heart twice the size of a "normal" thoroughbred his size. That was not his "fault"M. Kribs Rolla,MO. Oh for you Diane Lane fans watch the movie Unfaithful.

I thought that I would enjoy this interview as a big Secretariat fan … I watch any/all videos about him … However, I was very disappointed with Diane Lane’s interview … She made jokes about anything/everything concerning Secretariat that she could … He cheated, really?!!! She showed no respect!!! A slug has more class than she does … SMH 🤬

Riva Ridge helped them keep the stable, but they still would have lost the farm because of the inheritance tax. Riva Ridge didn't make $6 million.

My favorite movie, saw Secretariat win the Belmont when I was 9 years old.

If you do your research you will see Sham had the same size heart, but, did not have Big Red's big chest and charming personality!

Actually Sham had a large heart as well. Not as big as Secretariat. Big Red is simply the greatest of all time.
