this was EVERYTHING. if they had to follow the plot of the silvia phone call this was the PERFECT way to handle it. have edo actually acknowledge his wrongs (multiple times?) and have eleonora win the argument (even though it was honestly more a civil conversation between to people getting to know each other) instead of her just giving up and looking defeated. also their chemistry is... iconiclike
I have so much to say about this episode so prepare yourselves, it’s a long read! When Eleonora was listing off reasons as to why she wasn’t interested in Edoardo, he was geninuinely listening to her by nodding in agreement (ex being arrogant, selfish, etc.) But when Eleonora said he was sexist, he made a face of confusion. That trait she listed was the only one that he was noticeably affected by. He doesn’t want to be seen as a sexist jerk but he didn’t cut her off. He let her continue. Instead of getting defensive, he asked her why she said he was sexist. He was genuinely taking into consideration her reasons. Edo then took a moment to let what Eleonora said sink in in order to form a thought out response and not just lashing out the first instinctual thing to say to defend himself. He was willing to hear criticism because he wants to change the sexist tendencies Eleonora alarmed him of. That’s Eleonora’s self improving, rich, Italian man. Eleonora and Edoardo were equals. They were talking as if they were on equal footing, and Edoardo was actually willing to listen to what Ele had to say, to the remarks she made, he was willing to understand what he did wrong. And the banter, the banter.... Just seemed so natural, the chemistry they have is seriously amazing, to me it felt like they had been together forever, and it was only their first date. I am hopeful for what’s to come. *No, non mi devi niente.* Edoardo killed me with this. "No, you don't owe me anything" ugh it hit me in the stomach for some reason. I go crazy for things like these. We've seen him in the clip, he was so happy to be sharing beach and cookies with Eleonora, he is interested in her, in her point of view, he already calls her Ele. It was sweeter than I expected but that line.. the way he said it all breathy and in a rush, pausing... annoyed he was interrupted but having to leave anyway, Ele just standing there. She was kinda shook too because now I feel like Ele wants to see him again. She sees that Edo respected their deal and he won't actively bother her anymore. That did it all for me and for her. It showed he can keep a promise? And maybe hearing that kinda disappointed her a bit? But he wasn't dismissive at all and she will think about it and that line all night now. And so will I. Damn. The more clips come out, the more i am 100% sure the theme of the season will be "we are stronger together" or however you want to put it. As of now, Eleonora doesn't trust anyone with her secrets: she barely confides in her own brother (and her confession is forced, because hadn't he guessed it, she wouldn't have told her anything), she would die rather than telling anything to her closest friend in the girl squad, she's so closed off that in comparison Martino in the first ep of his season was an outgoing person. And this is our starting point, but the ending is continuously foreshadowed by different elements, first of all the teaser/header parallel: it's super interesting how they chose to cut the scene in the teaser (Edoardo getting away from Eleonora) when, once the full trailer was released, we discovered that this wasn't in fact meant to be him getting away from her but them kissing. If they cut it that way, it means they wanted us to take something out of it, and that something is what I've posted about last time (I wish I knew how to link from the phone but as I don't know how, to summarize: they've consciously made a parallel between colourful rain-happiness-being together vs heavy, dark rain-sadness-being alone). Second, her writing on the mirror: Amor vincit omnia. Love prevails over everything. While I agree that the following line ("and we must surrender to love") is important in explaining how Edo and Ele's relationship will develop (she will, in the end, accept that she likes him and wants a relationship with him), I think that it's also telling that she has just that part written down, as a reminder: love overcomes obstacles. Letting in the people you love makes life easier. Ele seems to have forgotten that, since she keeps everyone at arm's length, and I believe her journey this season will make her learn that having love on her side, not just romantic love, but the love of her sibling and her friends as well, will make her stronger and happier.
The hair of Ele here makes her look like Engel (Silvia here) from SKAM NL (really beautiful remake, the Ele here is very beautiful, first black girl to play this role and she’s really gorgeous heheh bro fist for SKAM NL)

I haven't watched this version but I ship these two from watching their relationship in fan videos. I just love how their relationship develops in all remakes even though I haven't watched them. I'm watching Skam Espana though and it's a slow burn. 😭
