Blink Door Bell, has 3 main problems, 1.- blue light does not turn on when motion detection, only when pressed, 2.- subscription is required even to access local storage 3.- there is a delay of 3 to 5 seconds for chime on phone
Same here. Just bought one on Saturday and I am about to return it tomorrow. Tried it several times. We even reset it several times. Nothing happened after message: "Doorbell serial already registered to this account". I'm done with it.
The Wyze, which he rated highly, is quite usable without a subscription. The subscription, if you want the features, is cheap, which makes it very good value. We’ve only had ours a few weeks, but so far are very pleased with it, and are using it without a subscription.
All door bells are created same.. however you should talk more about the negatives of each product which will help new buyers to make the right decision.
exactly what i have marked as a poor report because my verandah blocks out any opportunity of facial recognition and this is barely covered only a one liner in the last item.....If I have a doorbell visitor (i live alone) i want to have s/he facial recognition to show the police
This is the second home in which czcams.com/users/postUgkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQU we've replaced our "regular" doorbell with a Ring video doorbell and we really enjoy it. It is very easy to install and it works very well, with a clear picture through the app and good in-home use (we added the chime, which is also easy to install and doesn't require another thought to use).
I went with a dahua Poe doorbell camera, it has onvif and is channel 1 with 24/7 live audio on my dahua NVR. I wanted a no monthly cost continuous recording doorbell that has a free app. I have the 360 camera with audio in my chicken coop.
What doorbell should I get if I have following requirements: - No LED that indicates that I'm recording, or option to disable LED. - Continuous/motion based recording with facial recognition - Intergration with home assistant and/or local storage possible. If anyone has good suggestions I'd love to hear them...
Ring door bell failed and when I was able to contact a tech she continued to fall asleep on the phone. I had to ask if she was awake on 3 occasions. After calling the second time the service person could not find the problem and told us he would send us the instructions. I told my wife there was no need of that as we had the instructions and that we had followed them. I will not invest in any of Rings product after this experience with them. As for our experience we feel they care less about their customers. It was not that we tried only once we attempted to ake it work sveral times. I truly hope those who have purchased the bell have much better luck than we did.
For 12 months I’ve the Arlo video doorbell. First few months was great, but the two way communication stopped working. Leave a message by the visitor is silent. This doorbell is then reset to factory settings and works for a day. I don’t know if this is a problem with Arlo Doorbells or not, but I’m beginning to believe I must have a faulty Arlo video doorbell.
The minute Legit pick narrator said Arlo was the best pick i knew the whole video was bs. I own an arlo. It doesn't work below 35 degrees, will run out of battery really fast during cold seasons. Battery life is based on motions. You will get A LOT of tree, grass and bushes movement and expect a bling every second for all of them even when filtered. Arlo customer service is the worse! I had one camera go out and after spending 12 months fighting with them they told me my warranty had expired and wouldn't help me further! even though the problem occurred DURING The warranty period!! Arlo cameras are the worst! I will admit their wide angles are the best though. The app is very user friendly too. The offset is horrible customer service, horrible cameras and worse batteries that die when temperatures get below 35 degrees. Cameras also shut off during low temperatures 35 degrees or less. Also before I forget it would be faster to walk up to a window and look out then see it on the app. by the time your phone app blings 30 or more seconds have happened. Then you have to wait another 15 to 20 seconds to load the app. Also you only get 8 to 15 seconds of video time then the camera resets for 30 seconds. 30 seconds in which your camera WILL not record.
Thanks for sharing useful information. May I ask Arlo Essential (AVD2001B) WiFi doorbell and (VMB4540) WiFi smart hub with 2TB do they work well, save the triggering videos into the Harddisk?
Simply buy the one with no subscription. Why give them more money. It doesn't sound like a lot of money initially, but add that over 5 years and you may change your mind. It's dead money.
#1 requires frequent resetting? The Arlo? Going so fast, hard to catch that. You missed some items on the Pro 2 (Windows compatibility, angled mounting plate).
Looking for a door camera that will automatically record video to my android phone (no additional fee). Is there such a thing? I know my mini camera has this feature.
An elderly friend of mine would like to have one of these installed but in her case, her doorbell is mounted to the left of the front door on a perpendicular wall to the door. It's a few feet away to where someone would be standing at the door. At that location, the camera would never be able to get a complete view of the person as they walk up to the door and even when they're at the door, the video would be maybe from the shoulders down. Any suggestions as to what would work here? Maybe just mount a battery powered one next to the door looking out just to get a good view of people coming up?
There’s doorbell mounts on Amazon that are angled either to the left or right, whichever you prefer. Everyone should have a Mount with one of these doorbells. It’s becoming common for thieves to walk up and steal the actual doorbell camera.
you said Arlo loses connection every now and then yet you suggested it's the #1 doorbell... Ring, Eufy, and Google Nest are the best imo. Ring being the #1
you mentioned a long verandah needs a specific camera. mine is short verandah but dark with the added sunshine coming straight at the camera, with a human in FRONT OF CAMERA means cant see his/her face!! useless cameras for anything but long vision or on a door on outer skin of building. mine is "inside" a 3m x 2m verandah and will be a hard fix to get light ON VISITORS FACE FOR FACIAL RECOGNITION in event of crime. I live alone, so this is crucial and is NOT ADDRESS IN ANY ADVERTISING....except you barely touch on it on the very last item. All other views that you have demonstrated are a doorbell on outer skin of building or showing long distance view of how well it picks details from a distance. My issue affects me day and night due to my 'closed in' verandah. In fact worse til 11am because sun rising directly in front of doorbell and then after 4pm the street lights step up and have the same effect-when a crime is most likely during after dark hours, the doorbell camera will not show the FACE suitablly for FACIAL RECOGNITION due to back lit frame in high definition and WDR aspect but not FRONT LIGHT ON CAMERA to show face suitable for facial recognition of "visitor"
You’d have to purchase a Blink mini camera in order to have a chime. If I recall correctly there’s only one chime option. I installed the system for my mom so I don’t remember.
Well, at least you can see them in action. JK...you are correct! Some of my neighbors have recorded their package thefts, but also caught a car waiting (condo community). So that little bit of info indicated that the perps drove in and most likely not living here. Also, if their faces are exposed, the perp may be recognized.
The Wyze video doorbell is very poor and extremely finicky. I can't trust it to work when away and the battery is short-lived. Also it requires a full charge before it works with your phone and that can take 12-24 hours! I wish I never purchased it. Buyers beware. LEARN from my mistake.😢
This Blink thing is garbage. My cats will sit literally right in front of it and it does nothing. I can put it out by the road, and no cars set it off. It doesn't even have a range far enough for most applications out in your driveway. I don't even think it's fully rain proof. I had to put mine in a sealed spagetti jar.

Camera technology is so advanced in 2023 , couldn’t companies make something robust , with 180 degree view ,waterproof and theft proof
Gotta funnel out updates or they’ll run out of ideas is my guess

Eufy was caught uploading user footage to their cloud service not that long ago. Def not secure.
Yes, but not user footage...
You need to update this after the revelations regarding eufy

Umm Eufy does stream to the cloud and even assigns face ID's the COMPLETE OPPOSITE of what they say is their privacy selling point.
No it definitely does not assign face IDs, I have had it for 2 years and not once has it ever detected someone's face.
