This is tremendous content. No one is putting out this high level strategy information in this sort of format. Great visual decision free.
Thanks, I’m working hard to bring you the good stuff 😉
best pickleball teaching content out here. brilliant stuff. so distilled yet detailed
100% agree
Best content out there…… so well laid out. Closing with partner strategy was great, it’s a topic that is so important but is not discussed/taught. Thanks, John.
Easily the best PB tutorial I've seen in the past couple years. Just too good! ❤
This is a great 5 part series and shows everything I need to do to improve my game. All his videos are well planned and very informative.
thank you!!
Love the decision tree. Great job especially with the clips to illustrate the points.
I’ve watched each part of this series at least two times. Will be back to reference. Great content and instruction.
Thanks so much, I appreciate it!
Thanks for putting this series together. The whole series was great. The flow chart was a brilliant idea and super helpful to my understanding of how to approach the game.
Thanks John! This video is absolute gold!
Video request: could you talk about sliding and counter attacking from the kitchen? I see pros do it all the time but there isn't any content addressing it.
Thanks! yeah, that’s a great suggestion
Amazing synthesis of all the concepts. The flow chart was incredibly helpful and changed my perception of many situations that came up in my games (I thought you drive the short return no matter what - this would lead to many issues). If you aren't planning it please do a similar breakdown to the Returner/defensive side of the game. Was nice running into you in Austin PPA and exchanging a few words.
Thanks, I appreciate it. That’s a good idea 👍
Thank you John. Your videos are excellent in precision and clarity of content, especially the ones on strategy, that is hardly addressed by other instructors. Please continue to teach strategic moves as you have done up to now. You are a gifted person and we can learn a lot from you. Thank you very much for taking the time to teach us pickleball!!
Very kind of you. Thanks so much 👍
What a great series! I am always on the lookout for every video John. You're now my favorite CZcams coach! That last example of positioning by Tyson and shot selection by his partner was a real eye opener. Thank you so much for what you do. Any player not yet a professional would be a fool not to watch your videos and try to apply your teachings.
Love the real game breakdown method of teaching.
Glad it was helpful!
Fantastic breakdown. Breaking down the pro matches is really helpful.
Really stepped it up with this one! Now, show us bad examples or what not to do, and how to get out of bad positioning errors
That’s easy, just don’t screw up 😉
Wow John. You explained this in a perfect format. The flow chart and the pro clips were spot on. I have learned a lot from you and I am grateful for your effort to make these videos.
Thanks, Glad it was helpful!
Hello @John Cincola Pickleball, I just wanted to thank you for these videos they truly have helped my game in a tremendous way. I absolutely love pickleball and aspire to play with pros one day, so thank you for all you do! It means a lot!
Great series. Thanks for putting all this together.
Wow! Great real play examples illustrating the concepts in the flowchart. Well Done!
Thank you very much!
You're an amazing teacher of the game. Thanks so much.
Thank you fo me talking so much strategy and not just shot mechanics
Great video! The video examples are so helpful for illustrating your point, and the tips about maintaining spacing with your partner and facing them during their thirds are absolute gold.
It is interesting how your views on short returns seem to have shifted to favoring a bit more aggression than when you made this series.
Wow, so cool you used footage from Red Rock that just happened!! Heard Brandon bragging on your play on James Ignatovich podcast. Good luck as partners in US Open this week!!
Thanks, yeah that was nice of Brendon to give me some props on there. He’s a good dude
Awesome series!! Best pickleball content on the internet!!
Thanks Juan!
You are an exceptional teacher. Thank you!
Wow just wow! I learned so much from your videos. You’re the best teacher 😊
Thank you! 😃
Amazing video. Thanks. Keep making the great content
Tyson’s partner positioning is a pleasure to watch.
a veteran of the game
You’re such a great teacher!!
Wow, thank you!
Well done, John.
Love this John!! Thank you!!
Thanks! You bet
Going through the whole series…love how you break it all down piece by piece in every video. The flowchart in this video is GREAT. Good stuff…Thanks!
Wow! This was great! Good drills and excellent explanation of court positions and strategy! THANKS!
Very good summary; brought the previous lessons together in a clear and concise manner. Thanks
After both sides are at the net, there are two things I’ve noticed with really good players. The player on the left tries to anticipate the ball going to the other player and intervene. The other play I noticed is that when the player on the right side does a speed up, he’ll go to the player on the other side right side aiming toward the middle. Both of those plays are not done in lower levels.
Awesome series John.
Dang man, excellent video, super helpful 👏!
Thanks Tom!
Was so impressed with Brendan's playing this whole tournament. Great vid John
Really interesting - especially adding the decision tree. I look forward to your videos.
Thank you!
This by far is the best strategy video ever made! Thankyou John! Please make more videos like this! I’m sharing this with all my friends !
Thanks, I really appreciate. I love hearing that the videos are helping out. 👍
@@johncincolapickleball I love the flow chart you made! I have it screen shot of it and placed it as my wallpaper! I love the fact that you explain if this shot happens then you can do this or that in a pros mindset! Other videos on CZcams explains what to do but doesn’t show examples which then for us we don’t know when to do it!
Great series John ! Thanks
Love this series John!!! The partner positioning at the end of this video is explained so well. Keep this awesome content coming!
Fantastic! Thx!
Great job John!!!!!! Awesome Stuff!!!
So good. Thanks!
Great series and really needed the coaching on positioning.
Great video John. Thank you for the detailed explanation, makes so much sense.
Thanks, Glad you enjoyed it!
Super great videos. Thanks so much 🙏.
Definitely the very best pickleball strategy content available.
Best video ever. Awesome instruction and strategy! Thanks John.
This was awesome.
Great explanations for the strategies to get to the net. With details about positioning, shot selection, and placement, for all posible scenarios.
Thanks John!
agreed with everyone in this feed by far the best pickleball content ive seen
Fantastic ! Thank you!
John
I enjoy your videos - clear, organized and slo mo video to illustrate the point you are making are excellent. Can yo do a video for us 3.0/3.5 rec players on how to take pace off a fast ball hit to us-both at the baseline and in the transition zone. This situation comes up all the time in rec play.
Thanks much.
Bruce
Thanks John 😮you are the best. Keep doing it. I have been learning a lot from your videos. ❤❤❤
Thank you, I will 👍
Superb. Sometimes I get criticized for moving around the way Tyson moves around in this video. Especially by the white line crowd. I'm not a ball hog, but I am a court hog when I'm the front man, and I'm a big believer in the funneling tactic. I'm not playing at a level where everyone has a reliable shot down the line, so I can't encroach on my partner's side as much as Tyson does in the final clip, but I'd sure like to much of the time. I got some of this tactic from CZcams, but then I embellished in my own play when I found it successful. And now I see I'm following in Tyson's footsteps, and I'm extremely pleased.
This is a great video: it shows how such videos should be done. Thank you.
Fantastic content! Just so on target! And not drawn out!
Such great clips illustrating the techniques you speak about! And excellent illustration of Shading I wanted to share with my crew! Thanks much. Please keep this going.
Great video, great series. Thanks for improving my whole game from serving to scoring.
You bet! Thanks for watching
Absolutely outstanding series! Keep it coming.
Thanks, will do!
Wow John--so Good! The flow diagram started out a bit confusing for me just because I am not that smart about the details (there was too much information in the moment visually)--but your actual court demos were outstanding
Well done. I have just discovered your channel. Your instruction is solid. Thank you.
Clear and precise.....Typical JC
Really helpful😎
Once again, this is a masterfully crafted video and exactly how PB strategy should be taught - thanks so much! Would love to see this exact kind of analysis also for once you are "in the point" - I've struggled to make my own kind of decision tree for the short game and would love your take here. Keep it up!
Great suggestion! I’ll put that on my idea list.
Wow. So well done like so many of your other instructional videos.
I am going to question the drop on a short return off a deep serve as it is not what people are normally told and it doesn't fit my experience(maybe because I am driving then as most people were saying to!) It seems to me that off a deep serve and a short return that most returners are not going to be able to get to the kitchen line by the time the serving side hits the third shot. I would say that that is true in your video example too. 1:56 I am not disagreeing with the decision tree, more with the example used. I would say a short serve is more likely to result in a returner already being at the kitchen line as the 3rd is struck. Also, I think that in the next clip where Tyson is driving, it seems to me he should be driving at Dekel who hasn't quite come to rest yet. By hitting to Collin, Tyson is putting Brendon in a bad spot as Collin is most likely to counter that drive at Brendon. So maybe the drive outcome would be different if driven at Dekel.
Thanks, I thought I covered that in the video. I said that anytime your opponent is late to the line you have a green light to drive. If both opponents are already at the line then we drop a short return 👍
5parts were informative..break down helpful. Showing videos very helpful. Tyson position protecting his partner key. We don’t do that and the partner runs up popped it up.
Hope to use that at the US OPEN next week. TX California Bill
Quality content, keep up the good work
thank you very much!
I came back two months later, and I'd give it another star if I could.
awesome thanks
So good:)
Nicely laid out John, you have a great pragmatic way about your coaching, you really make it clear. Thank You.
Side note… Dekel’s serve is a bit on the outrageous side, falling well beyond the baseline from his momentum, seems a bit contradictory to the spirit of pickles, a truncated court with an NVZ. Momentum leading one into the kitchen after a volley is not permitted, why is it cool on a serve then? His flamingo technique combined with his height allows for essentially a tennis like overhand trajectory on the ball Idk… I just was noticing it, not a fan, and I’m sure it’s already been discussed quite a bit :-).
The NVZ line is completely different than the end line. That’s why the rules are different. It puts Dekel Bar at a disadvantage if returner is good enough to put ball at his feet as he comes in.
great way to show it
Man, best part of that whole series was your last few minutes on partner positioning with examples by Tyson. So good!
Love your teaching style. Had a question maybe you can make into a video. In a situation where you are the much stronger player over your partner, what strategies, shot selection, and court positioning would you use to prevent the other team from basically hitting everything to the weaker player and locking you out of the game. How could you turn that situation around?
Example say I'm at a DUPR event with random partners each game. The will be times where I'm the clear stronger player. In rec no big deal games are for fun and practice, don't mind losing there, but with DUPR something is on the line. What can you do to still help influence and control the game?
Well done! The video in part 5 was especially good.
super rad
Excellent content! Any chance you might do an in-depth singles series?
Thanks, maybe at some point. Unfortunately I think my audience for singles content would be pretty small right now.
@@johncincolapickleball Yeah, that totally makes sense
Hi John, I agree with the other people on here. Amazing content! I live on Amelia island, North of Jacksonville. I'm 60 years old, a young 60. LOL and about a 3.5. My goal is to move up someday to 5.0. , Do you give private lessons?
I am a Selkirk advocate.
yes i do private lessons. email me for more info. email is in my about page.
Singles strategies strategy please!
All this time I thought my question on Part 2 was too simple to be answered. Turns out it was a good question asked too soon. 😂 Thanks John!
You’re just 1 step ahead of me 👍
Where do we send the check ?!? 💦🚁🤘 #CopterJuice
Yes, this excellent - it did bring all the other lessons together and the examples were spot on. Thanks John - keep it up!
!
Thank you for this great series. I've saved it so I can refer to it again and again!
Love it! Glad to hear it helped
Very good summary; brought the previous lessons together in a clear and concise manner. Thanks
Too good! Thank you!
Glad you liked it!
