  • Hello There Friends, Today I'm going to show you a delicious dish you can make when you don't mind spending a little money! Crab Cakes! Super Delicious and Super EASY to make. If you don't want to spend the money on Crab it is the same technique and I have made a video in the past called Seafood Cake. Let me know what you think down in the comments below!

    God bless America and god bless this man. As a new subscriber, I have already learned so much from him. It doesn't matter if he is redundant in his comments. Whether for new subscribers like me, or those that already know, it helps me to learn by drilling it into my head over and over. For me, it never gets old. This man has a passion for what he does and I love it. Thank you for teaching us how to cook. And he is right. Cooking is not hard. The only hard part is the mise en place, which is, in my opinion, the foundation of good cooking. Keep up the good work chef, and thank you.

    I made these with a shrimp binder, and then made crab cake sandwiches on brioche buns. Bib lettuce, heirloom tomato and some thick slices of bacon. Remoulade with cornichons and everybody went crazy. Served them with homemade vinegar and sea salt kettle chips and a bucket of ice cold beer. Thank you chef!

    Of all the things I've made in life, I've never actually done a crab cake. Perhaps it's time to do it. And this recipe looks fantastic. The "salmon glue" is a great idea.

    Messr. Chef teaches at a level that even I can learn! ... Home Depot plumbing pipe mold ... wrap your hands around like you're making a snowball ... I can't wait to go shopping tomorrow morning so I can try to make these at home. I will have to make two versions, though. Crab for me and lobster for my wife (she says she has never liked crab).     Chef I've been working on the menu for my wedding (30 ppl, pre cooking and freezing everything) and I just found the appetizer! I think making them bite size for appies would be better for my needs, but I think they will be awesome! BTW, the rest of the menu is your bacon wrapped chicken loaf with the mushroom sauce and your mashed potatoes! You inspired the hell outta me!!!

    After watching this video more times than I care to admit, I ordered a bunch of things from Chef JP's store . Armed with my new Woll pan, garlic salt, silicone mat and Herbes De Provence I made this last night. My wife does not like dill so I went with parsley. It was amazing ! I wish I could give this video more than 1 thumbs up, thank you chef for your teachings.

    Made the shrimp mousse crab cake for NYE…SO FANTASTIC! Rave reviews and perfect with champagne. I used the same crab and wild pink shrimp. I made a few extra and carefully wrapped for the freezer so that we can have a special meal whenever we like. Thanks, Chef. You never disappoint! ❤️

    Over the moon delicious! They look very like some I ate at a restaurant in SC. They mixed a little lobster with the crab as well. Making these this week to help me get through the wicked winter weather coming at us in the Great Lakes. My husband is gonna crack up when I tell him I need some white pvc pipe for making crab cakes.

    Went dungeness crabbing yesterday. Today we will be feasting on crab cakes. I followed the recipe except I had no salmon but I found tucked away a can of crabmeat in the cupboard and a lonely small cod fillet so that's what I made my mouse out of. The cakes turned out beautifully. They are in the fridge chillin for the next couple of hours. Our mouths as salivating waiting for the first bite . Thank you for another grand slam recipe. My family knows as long as I continue watching all the videos the food will continue to be restaurant quality.

    For years I have been looking for a delicious crab cake. I have ordered them in fine restaurants but have never tasted one that has lived up to what my imagination tells me a beautiful lump crab cake should taste like. But chef, you have inspired me.       I had just watched his video on making Lobster Thermidor, and thought this crabmeat would be excellent in his thermidor sauce (but obviously without the lobster shells. Pretty simple, wouldn’t need too much seasonings. Just serve it in a pretty little plate and garnish with some fresh herbs and quartered lemons. OK, now my stomach is grumbling because I want it, NOW! Oh, and he did mention using leftover sauce to make a special macaroni and cheese (grated Gruyère), and the sauce poured over the nice chunky crab meat ❤sounds divine, doesn’t it? And that would be without the macaroni…or maybe not. Wonderfully flexible recipe

    God Bless You! With only 2 of us to cook for, I have hesitated purchasing the crab from costco, because it is simply too much crab for one meal, so I love the idea of freezing the extra cakes for another day! This way we have no waste, and I'm sure you and i were raised by the same mother, because she also taught us not to waste anything when cooking! I always chuckle when you referen that when scraping a bowl or pot. We are so blessed to have you teach us, and I know we have a piece of pvc for my husband to cut a mold for me. You are the BEST!

    I am one of your regular followers and so grateful for your weekly videos and your 50+ years of experience as a French chef. I'll be making these crab cakes this weekend and serving as an appetizer at a small dinner party I am having with friends. The nice thing about your channel is that I watch your videos after you publish them, decide what dish(es) I would like to try to make (I try most of them), and order (online) whatever required ingredients (i.e., Phillips Jumbo Lump Crab) I do not have in my pantry and/or refrigerator. After I have all ingredients pulled together, I tune the video up again and cook the dish with you - just as if you were along side me in the kitchen. AMAZING how my finished product usually turns out just like yours. Thank You! Thank You!

    Made crab cakes for friend Saturday night and it was wonderful. One of my friends is allergic to eggs and dairy, so some substitutions were needed. I used olive oil instead of egg for the mouse, and then used burrata cheese for the mustard sauce as I did not have sour cream. My allergic friend had cocktail sauce instead of the mustard. To quote Chef, it was fantastic! And Chef is correct, even a child can do it. Fabulous and many thanks!

    Where I live in Canada, we are only blocks away from wharf. Fresh fish, crab, shrimp, clams, scallops and so on. Not that expensive. We eat things like crab cakes often. Pacific salmon? Yum, yum This is a great recipe, thanks.

    A real winner, Chef. I had to cut back a little and buy claw and lump . I used a UV flashlight to find the bits of shell and cartilage. Your recipe came out perfect!

      Yep I tried it with the cheaper crab in the cans and it didn't work- they were fishy salty bombs

    Chef Jean-Perre has completely cooked his taste buds by tasting
    his creations when they're way too hot. He can't taste them at all
    but he tells us they're delicious anyway. I believe him.

    I love how Chef Jean-Pierre talks, he easily relates to his target audience. Easy to follow recipes that the home cook can follow but I need to know are we friends?? Thanks for all your hard work

    The way you decorated the Crab Cakes is amazing. The micro greens was so beautiful and using the ring to keep them together. True perfection. I love your techniques so complimentary, we do not eat seafood i.e. crab, shell fish, it looks amazing but no thank you. I am sure white fish will work, just work gently not too much mixing, and finish off the same manner. A pleasure to eat and enjoy.
