  • Today I have used an old t-shirt to create a very handy tote bag! These are mostly used as reusable shopping bags, but can be used for just about anything!

    I love this idea! The bag will be machine washable too, which is great for shopping totes.

    I have so many old band t-shirts from the concerts Ive been to that are just sat in a wardrobe doing nothing.......well Im going to get a couple of them and Im going to do something with them....make a tote bag !!!! I'll be the talk of the town with my Smiths, New Order, Depeche Mode and Sisters of Mercy bags :-)

      Bob those shirts are worth hundreds maybe thousands of dollars each, it would be a huge mistake to do that lol

      😂right! It's so annoying trying to watch a vid...or tutorial and the loudest most annoying music distorting or bothering the ears..... Not the best way to learn from, or teach a tutorial😑😵‍💫.

    this was awesome. i used this video for my first ever sewing project. i just bought a machine like three days ago. lol it’s taking me a long time but i’m almost done, i will be finishing just the straps tomorrow. it’s rough but it’s definitely getting my feet wet. 😊

    Thank you so much! I have a couple of old Kung Fu shirts that Don't fit me anymore, but that I don't want to give away because of the emotional connection and because they're kinda ruined, but they will work perfectly as a bag, definitely will try!!

      Have you done your project yet? I'm not a pro...but I have done some sewing... I myself would do straight stich ...or even perhaps a zig zag...or both for extra seal of the hems.... Again, I'm not an expert, but it's how I would do it as a beginner 😊👍

    If I used a jersey, should I use an interfacing as a stabilizer? Not sure what's best for that? I'd rather just do what you did.

      Thank you! Any cotton fabric would be fine to make a laptop sleeve, but I’d recommend using some quilting or something similar for padding 😊

    Hola! just started watching your vids. For beginners, do you recommend those mechanical hand held sewing kits off eBay? as I dont obtain an actual sewing machine yet. Gracias!

      Hi 😊. I have never used one myself, but I haven’t heard many good things about them. I would personally avoid buying one of those and go for a beginner friendly sewing machine 😊. Thanks for watching!

      I would recommend the sewing machine I use. It’s a Brother LS14. I’ve used it since I started sewing and it has all the basic functions on it. I can always do a video on it, if it’s something people will be interested in? 😊
