    absolutely spot on. not only racket drop but also internal rotation & pronation is enabled with this tip. thank you so much.

    Good video. If you focus leading with your elbow (assuming everything else is correct) the racket will naturally lag/drop more. I teach a drill which makes you tap the ball with the hitting elbow up and people are surprised how much their racket drops without actually trying or forcing the racket drop

      Exactly! The racket drop is not a technique, it's a cause and effect

    Great instruction, I was thinking when I watched your forehand ATP style snappy wrist video that it would apply to the serve maybe. You definitely confirmed it thanks. I just got my Snappy Wrist. It gives superb feedback on the forehand and serve as you say. I cannot think of a better "gadget" for this. I actually found the "company" video on the snappy wrist. The inventor definitely needs to take that one down and use your 2, on the forehand and the serve.

    Very cool. That snappywrist thing has helped my forehand - I was wondering if it would apply to the serve!

    Nice follow up forehand snappy wrist video, Tom. Alright now I’m gonna have to get one. This one is so hard to fix, looking forward to seeing if the audio cue helps. And haha even you had to pay for yours!

    yes, the racket drop goes intuitively with that snap ❤❤❤

    Great Tom; just like the last video with the tube and the fitness lady.
    I Like drills like those where the student feel the movement instead of explaining it to them verbally!
    keep going:)

    Thxs for the video but when you do it fast on your regular serve I think I can hear the snap at what it seems the end your drop. Is that so?

    Nice! I think I'm gonna try the snappy! Q re the serve: you haven't talked much about the shoulder-over-shoulder i.e. cartwheel motion on the serve. I know that in this video you're simplifying the motion a bit and not doing much of the cartwheel. Would you consider doing a video on that? It's probably a more advanced move that you may have warnings about for rec players. Thanks Tom!

    Thanks, Tom. This on edge drop thing is so interesting especially considering some great servers don’t have that. Like Shapovalov for instance, he has the exact opposite of on edge drop, it’s completely open. Would love to hear your thoughts on that.

    • @ewen1140
      @ewen1140 Před rokem +2

      Federer is the same they don't take the racquet back on edge like Roanic, but they all come up on edge which is more important. Federer and Shapovalov have open face racquet drops but still get the racquet drop very low so it really does not matter if you have an open face racquet drop or an on edge racquet drop if you do not end up with a shallow racquet drop.

    • @ryanmitchell9460
      @ryanmitchell9460 Před rokem

      Sampras had an open face on the drop too like Fed. Leading on edge isn’t 100% essential proving from 2 of the best servers ever. People are obsessed with this. As long as you pre throw with the elbow back and then lead with your elbow, and try and probate through contact you’ll be fine . Just look at Sampras sand federer

    • @themrstroke
      @themrstroke Před rokem

      That is certainly true that some great servers like Fed and Pete went back with a somewhat open racquet face and then are still able to approach the ball "on edge". I think maybe what this instructor is saying is maybe that is a more complicated motion, more can go wrong. Certainly this snappy wrist gives one immediate very valuable feedback.
