Jobby + MTG is the combo I never knew I needed, been playing MTG since I was in like 4th grade so this is kinda wild
p.s. I have a suggestion for a card!! "Teferi's Protection" is an auto-include for me in any of my white commander decks. Its an instant that totally phases you out of the game until your next turn, protecting all of your permanents and life total. The ultimate emergency button, and I'm never upset to have it in my starting hand.

As a seasoned player for almost 10 years, you’re doing a really good job at explaining the basics of the game, as well as your own cards. Magic in recent years has gotten a lot more complicated, especially with set specific mechanics
Fun fact for you, Jobby: the Godzilla version of Zilortha was actually the first one printed! We didn't get the in-magic version of Zilortha until Three Years later!
Also: Card suggestion and a good combo with Apex Altisaur at 41:50. Savage Order, one of the Jurassic Park cards included in Lost Caverns of Ixalan. 2GG for a sorcery that lets you sacrifice a creature with power 4 or greater to search a Dinosaur from your library and put it onto the battlefield, then give it indestructible until your next turn. 4 mana, Sacrifice something like a Polyraptor token or a Topiary Stomper, search Altisaur and give it indestructible, then it fights every creature you don't control, actually wiping the board. (Also remember: Apex Alitsaur says you "May" have it fight, meaning you can choose not to so it won't die!)

@@IPLAYMC99 Ah, that's on me. while it doesn't use the word "may", it does say "*up to* one", which means you can choose zero creatures for it to fight, letting you opt out of fighting if the fight would cause Altisaur to die.
I know nothing about this game but my jaw was on the floor multiple times because of how good some of these cards sounded. You did a great job describing the game
To break the Maurading Raptor/Polyraptor infinite loop, you can exile Marauding Raptor with an Instant removal spell or use Zacama's 2R activated ability on the Marauding Raptor after letting the loop run however many (hundreds or thousands of) times.
Maybe akin to Starscream shooting himself in the foot to get out of a jam?
For the Marauding Raptor/Polyraptor infinite, there’s 3 ways to stop it
1: Non-damage, instant removal on the incoming copy token. (Path to Exile, Swords to Ploughshares, etc.)
2: Any instant removal to Marauding Raptor.
3: Have a Wrathful Raptors on the board to deal damage to each opponent per Dinosaur being damaged for the same amount.
Jobby should go on commandzone or tolerian community colleges game shows. It would be awesome to see his deck builds at work. (Quick edit I just noticed the auto correct from jobby to hobby lol)

In regards to the poly/marauding raptor combo, there is a new raptor called Wrathful Raptors from the new commander deck that makes it an infinite win instead of just a draw
I had no idea Jobby would ever play MTG
Given how you gave us your blessing to backseat deckbuild, I'd like to give you a few recommendations after seeing your decklist.
Edh is a mode where having lots of options all the time is key, so I'd add a few more drawing cards, [Up the Beanstalk] and [Elemental Bond] are really good options as enchantments are hard to remove and you should be casting big creatures constantly that fulfill their draw condition.
Also, look into [Savage Order] and [Invasion of Ikoria]. One is a tutor that allows you to cheat any dinosaur directly into the field from your deck (running things as Etali, Primal Conqueror and Ghalta, Stampede Tyrant, that's a lot of value waiting to be tapped into) and the other is a tutor/reanimator card that transforms into an 8/8 dinosaur that makes all your dinos unblockable once you deal 6 damage to it.
Really fun deck overall Jobby, enjoy your stay in the mtg community
Even though I never played MTG before, your explanation and deck profile really made me wanna try magic. I wouldn't have thought that a 1 hour deck profile could be this entertaining.

Kaheera Companion might be one of the less played variants, but Gishath is still a high power commander that does WORK.
I hope to see more MTG content in the future. Also, I love Omar even more now. Rat tribal is stupid and I love it!
The way Jobby does his videos is a great way to talk about MTG. I know the basics of the game and think it’s super fun. I’ve watched some stuff and like what I see, even if I don’t play it personally. And seeing Jobby explain stuff in his own mannerisms and way of doing things makes it an excellent way to showcase the game and learn, like I’m watching a master infomercial salesman at work.
Finally, the MTG content well is perfectly balanced. On one hand the Professor shines with wholesome radiance. On the other, papa Joby satiates the depravity in all of us.

I got into Magic too last year because a lot of my friends were veterans who played it a long time so they got me into it. Went down the rabbit hole to learn everything I can to do well and now I’m pretty good I’d say. Crazy you got into it as well
Also Kaheera’s companion condition means all those different creatures types can be in the same deck in any assortment

man, this is probably the most in depth deck tech I've ever seen, probably just because jobby wanted to confuse the least amount of his existing fanbase as possible. As always, really entertaining to see him passionate about something I also enjoy!
Edit: yes, kaheera refers to each individual card as fitting the stipulation, not the deck. since the craziest dino cards are pretty topdeck heavy, probably not worth running much else, however (imo) leonin arbiter is basically a must play for any deck that runs kaheera, and any white deck in general. If you have the chance, you may as well add him as a super oppressive lockdown card that can, at the very least, draw all of your opponent's attention over your other threats.

Oh dang, I didn't know I needed jobby going thru a deck in my life until now.
You can stop the Polyraptor/Marauding raptor combo a few different ways.
The best way to do it is by using a creature called "Forerunner of the empire" which basically says "whenever a dinosaur enters the battlefield under your control you MAY deal bone damage to each creature" now I emphasize may because you can reorder the trigger so that Marauding raptor triggers a buncha times. Then you can use the forerunner triggers 3 times to kill the Marauding raptor AND spawn more Polyraptors
The other way is to deal direct damage to Marauding raptor but that requires open mana
As a fellow collector of MTG, Commander player, and also having just upgraded my own Gishath deck, both you and your wallet have my sympathy

Im building a dino deck myself so seeing some potential candidates here is awesome, thanks jobby.
Also you can send creatures with indestructible to the graveyard if you apply enough -1/-1 counters or give a creature minus attack and toughness till the end of turn, Bleed Dry for example has target creature get -13/-13 until the end of turn. The idea is that if a creature has 0 or less toughness they would die even if they have indestructible.
Just a forewarning for anyone who wants to build indestructible decks.

I wasn't expecting this but it's a welcome surprise, unlike the surprise damage to the face from hasty, tramply, prehistoric chicken nuggies
I'm not sure if you know but the Prof at Tolarian Community College also does box openings to the same "Royalty Free Jazz".
I personally run two different Commander decks. My first is a Blue/Black Zombie deck that started as a Token Engine heavy in Black, but eventually devolved into a Blue heavy zombie deck that mostly stalls my opponents while I build up the Zombie engine with Rooftop Storm that allows me to cast Zombies for free. The effect of the Commander Gisa and Geralf helps me get zombies back from the graveyard once per turn. The other Commander deck I have is a mono-Black Skeleton deck commanded by Skythirix, the Blight Dragon. Basically, I have a shit ton of old skeleton cards from the Late 90s/Early 2000s that give me cheap blockers that have Regenerate. Use the skeletons to eat up my opponents attacks while I get Skythirix up and running with various buffs to one-shot opponents.
I never win matches, but when I do, it's a pleasant surprise. I don't build to win, I build to have fun. Also the Skeleton deck is nicknamed "Bone Zone". Insert Megalovania here.

im actually working on a dinosaur deck myself! though i went with red green and blue!
As someone who also has a Dino deck and having the raptors combo. It would be beneficial to have Inpact Tremors or Warstorm Surge(or both b/c redundancy) , so that you can win rather than draw the game. Another card I'd recommend would be Eye of Ojer Taq, b/c when you craft with 2 creatures (as the choosen card type) your commander is free to cast. Finally I would recommend Cavern of Souls. Its the best tribal land you could ever get. All and all looks really fun👍
This deck is awesome cheating out cards is really fun 2 really good sorceries that can help with that is last March of the ents and primal surge. Last march of then ents has ghaltas stampede tyrants effect but you get to draw cards beforehand and primal surge lets you play all permanent cards from the top if your library until you hit an instant or sorcery. Last card i recommend is defense of the heart its a 4 cost enchantment that lets you search your library for not 1 but 2 creatures and put them on the battlefield for free, it does require one of your opponents to control 3 or more creatures but in commander that’s pretty much most of the time.
After I watched this video… it reminded me of my White & Black Orzhov deck I used to run in high school.
Really makes me want to rebuild that deck, but I sadly got no one locally to play the game with.

41:05 your opponent can also force you to sacrifice your creature, which would get around indestructible. An example would be Fleshbag marauder
I started playing magic with commander way back in 2016 around the time i found your channel and i LOVED dinosaurs (my first booster box was the original ixalan) so seeing all three of these things come together makes me super excited i really hope we get more magic related content
Upgradeds you can do Cavern of souls, teferis protection, coat of arms , the shock lands and the pain lands , the great hedge , doubling season, primal vigor just a few up grades you can do

About halfway through, and Jobby you're doing a great job at explaining all this. I feel like if I had no idea what Magic was, I'd at least have a grasp on it by the time the video was done, and maybe even be able to play a simple game
An extra side note about indestructible creatures, they can still be sacrificed, which kills them, and if an indestructible creature gets enough -1/-1 counters or -X/-X placed on it by an effect (different from combat damage) equal to its toughness it will also die due to state based effects ie. having zero toughness
31:22 I like using this with impact tremors. an enchantment that causes your opponent to take 1 damage for each creature that enters your Battlefield.

a fun combo with gishaths ability or the infinite poly raptor token combo is with the enchantment warstorm surge... it says "Whenever a creature enters the battlefield under your control, it deals damage equal to its power to target creature or player". The salt is enormous
Man this is surreal my birthday was yesterday and it marked my 15th year of playing magic, then suddenly one of my favorite CZcamsrs that I have been watching since the 9th grade releases their deck.

I got into commander in 2017 when I started college, and my first ever deck was Gishath. I have so many fun memories stomping my friends with an army of dinosaurs, and MTG was an excellent way to open up and make some friends I'll have for the rest of my life!

My uncle use to play a beast green + red deck and it was quite OP. Adding white makes it so much better.
I have to say though, super good video. The way you go over each and every card really makes the rules for the game feel easy to grasp, which would be hard to do otherwise when you have an audience of... different sorts.

Great Vid hope you do more deck techs in the future. If you want a deck with Gigan i recommend Companion deck with Sakashima of a thousand faces and Tormad the desecrator you mostly run clone cards to copy gigan to make more gigans.
My brother had Gishath for years, I believe he's switching into the new Dino Commander. Something about the new one being more reliable to use while still being very in theme.
I typically enjoy decks with Izzet colors, most notably Rielle the Everwise, grandma who endorses gambling by discarding your hand to draw a whole new one. She also can become quite ridiculous with her other effect bonking for lethal commander damage.
Kind of crazy this game did Godzilla, Transformers, and Doctor Who cards that you can build with, as well as Warhammer 40k.

For Wayward Swordtooth, the Ascend keyword only affects its ability to attack or block, not the ability to play an additional land per turn, so even if you don't have the city's blessing yet, you'l get your ramp intention with the card on the turn you play it.
I'm curious how you'd tackle the stack for spell interactions, since MTG doesn't hold back on the amount of effects that can be broken with the right interaction/response.
