I have recently bought a 2014 example. Got to say that I am very pleased with it.
i have the 600cc passion with 61hp It's a small rocket. The 45 hp version is very slow
Is there a huge difference between the 61hp and 70hp version?

I drive a smart 450, and i drive 110/120 kmph on the highway and have no problems with driving that speed. Only need to hold the steering wheel thight when its very windy outside.
Driving this thing on the highway is very dangerous. 😅
Same here, I use the highway almost everyday and I drive it (Smart fortwo 450 passion) to the max, 110/120kph. On windy days I drive about 60kph max. The catch here is you must know what you're doing and must be an experienced driver to max this vehicle. Both hands on steering after shifing gears if yours does not have auto mode,I also have a few mods done. lowered suspension using coil overs for better aerodynamics and stability. I use wider tires on stock alloy rims (195/55/50) both back and front.
I am thinking about buying a Smart like that. I live in a city, so it'd be used mostly as a city car, whilst we rarely wander outside the city. However, do you reckon it's safe to drive 90-100kph with it? Or I shouldn't even try?
My recommendation is to not go over 80-90km/h, it feels very insecure. Sweet spot for this car will be around 50-70 km/h. Just don't ever try to drive it on the highway. But I can suggest buying instead a 2005 ford fiesta 1.3. You can check the video on my channel. It is really safe to drive it with 130-150 km/h. And they are really cheap to buy and maintain. And it comes in 4 doors with 5 seats. ✌️
@@SlowFord thanks for your recommendation! I had a Mondeo of the same year. I have to admit that I am really fond of Ford's from that period of time. Cheap, yet reliable and don't feel as budget as, for example, Fiat does.
@@ArturKwaszyn yes, you are right, the Fords tend to seem to have a bit better quality than Fiats, I whould choose a Ford over a Fiat anyday. 😅
But I have to admit that the Abarth 595 version of the fiat 500, is a real fun car. 😁
I drove smart(brabus) 170 kph on german highway & it felt very secure.
once upon a time drove smart fortwo in russia on highway in winter with huge wheel tracks on 120 kph... feels like an edge for this car cause corners and line changing on this speed requires high precision steering and good weight balance feeling. But if you good - it will give you a lot of fun )
im 6'3, 215 pounds...and the smart car is surprisingly roomy o.O
Yes it is, because it is made only for two people. 😅 But you are right, I had enough room also. It is a very good car if you intend to drive it only in the city. Due to the top speed, I couldn't drive on the highway, it was almost impossible to overtake another car. 😅

@@silverjay4455 i don't know how the diesel engine sounds in these cars. This is a 0.6l turbocharged engine.

@@Skull24Crusher ja, ungefähr. Der Tachometer zeigt auch nicht richtig. Der zeigt 5-10kmh weniger. Du kannst auch sehen dass er manchmal für eine kurze Zeit bleibt stehen

I have a smart 2004 and its like yours but with paddle shift wheelie. And has not A mode .

My 2000 Diesel accelerates much quicker than that. Yes, it has 4hp less than the car in this video but it has 0,8L insteed of 0,6L and it has 30NM more of torque .

Da, trebuie sa astept alternatorul. Bara este montata, mai trebuie pus carenajul si bidonul de la spalatorul de parbriz.

@@SlowFord It changes gears faster if you take your foot off the throttle like a regular manual. The Smart gearbox is a manual gearbox, but all function was robotized, so you should change gears like a regular gearbox.
@@Stuntman175with the throttle pressed or depressed, It changes gears almost the same. You should see how the 2004 citroen c3 changes gears 😅

It is a fun car to drive in the City. But on B roads, it is very unstable 😅 every truck that drives by, gives you the impresion that the Smart will fly off the street. 😂 With that being said, I won't be doing another POV with a Smart in the near future.
@@SlowFord Haha fair enough. It would be fun cause it's like driving a small buggy, but yea for your own safety it's good you're not doing anymore POV drives at this speed

Take a look at the last video I uploaded, it is an Abarth 595 Scorpioneoro Limited Edition. Still, it is very unstable at over 170Kmh 😅

Sorry lol I wasn't clear enough. The Abarth 595 is an awesome car btw, but I personally feel it looks much better than it actually is. Decent cheaper, low power RWD car tho

Btw, the 595 is FWD. I believe that the comfort was superior in the Smart as in the Abarth. But driving the Abarth reminded me of my rs. Maybe because they both have crappy suspension and a fixed driver seat with no posibility to lower the seat. 😅

The Smart: Objectively one of the WORST cars in the world
-Ugly
-DISGUSTING interior, filled with POOR QUALITY plastic and WRONG FITTING
-ZERO engines and moreover, NOT RELIABLE, with a lot of problems
-The gearbox, we don't even talk about it (not even 100% automatic mode) and not reliable at all
- It doesn't even reach 120 km/h
And it is VERY EXPENSIVE.
Actualy it has a hard time reaching 100kmh and once you reach that speed, it's getting dangerous. For City driving, it's ok, but never drive it on the Autobahn. 😅
@@SlowFord The trick is the customers who buy these cars. They are rich people who live either in Paris or in Monaco. But otherwise, nobody buys Smart! Normal that it was a failure

Top speed? Does it really go only 100-110? It was declared 135 as maximum speed
That is all what the car could do. 😅
This thing should be banned from driving it on the Autobahn, it not safe to drive it over 100kmh
