I strongly agree, depth throughout the lineup should be the Canucks goal in the offseason. High IQ physical and mobile players who hate to lose. No more passengers on the bus to overall team Tocchet hockey!

Mental health should always be the priority for both players and teams, and it's good to know Laine recognized that. He's been through a lot. Boeser may relate ❤ a fresh start may be the best. I'm not sure if he is the best winger for Pettersson's line but he could be that goal scoring machine on the wing that commands some respect from opponents.
It's a shame NHL doesn't allow cap relief for salaries tried up in the Player Assistance Program. Would Columbus retain some salary in trade (or with a broker) for a Canuck prospect that needs a fresh start?
If not, then it may not make any sense for Canucks to gamble with nearly 9 million in cap over the next two years given how tight things will be with the OEL buyout cap penalty increasing.
I'm not as familiar as I'd like with trade structures. Can salary retention be tied to number of games played, or do they need to go back to attaching conditional draft picks to make salary retention more palatable for Columbus?

What about Brandon Saad, 32yrs. Old, 2 Stanley Cups, solid goals scorer??

Need bigger faster forwards. Too many small guys that can’t win battles or protect the puck, and can’t blow past anyone. Their only strategy was to grind their asses off in hopes they can control the O zone and play keep away

Not a Laine fan unless 1.5-2 million, 1 year contract. Enhanced risk profile.
