I was rejected and treated horrible by the church and christian family and friends when I divorced my husband of 25 years who was a terrible drug addict, and cheated on me continually. No one even spoke to me for 6 years. But the Lord always loved me and was with me. I needed so much healing after all of this. But I have not been able to find a church home anywhere in 10 years of searching. I learned to count my blessings and keep my eyes on Jesus.

I have suffered wounds by "the church". What I have a hard time forgiving is the Christians who literally chased my children away from Jesus. I am re-committed to choosing forgiveness and praying my prodigal children back in to the center of God's love. Thank you, Anne. I'm getting your book.
It’s so hard when you have been wounded by people in the church
It was the same people from her church that made her wealthy.
I have been wounded deeply by my husband's family who are supposed to be Christians . It started 9 yrs ago when my husband was in the hospital dying . His sister started spreading lies about me . I have forgiven her but to this day it brings tears to my eyes . I thought I was appart of his family for 31yrs . And it hurt deeply the things said about me by her and others in the family . I have been praying for God to heal me of my broken heart . I was attacked when I was most vulnerable .
Sometimes people lash out when they are hurting themselves, this happened to me when my husband died a close family member of his family told me I'd never loved anyone only myself-I felt devastated at the time even thinking that must have how I'd appeared. Pray for the people who have hurt you, when we want only the best for them we are in effect stopping the attack on ourself. God Bless.
This is the same thing that happened to me, and I also got closer to Jesus in this time as well. He feels our pain because he was wounded by his own. He is so amazing. God is good.
I think we all have been hurt by believers, But they are not God. How sad, God loves all of us.

I have a severe case of Post Traumatic Church Syndrome, and worship blessedly alone with my God now, thank you very much. The man who organized John MacArthur's Strange Fire conference actually kicked me out of his car on Easter Sunday 2015, after inviting me to dinner with his family, because I refused to deny that Jesus came to me in a dream -- and his church supports him, snd believes he was serving God to abuse me like that. Oh, and BTW, I'm a dissbled woman in a powerchair.

How awesome that God gave you that dream and that you had the courage to treasure that gift He gave you and resist that religious spirit.
There are cruel people within church,I have been surprised at how nasty some can be. I admire this lady for forgiving and taking her anger to God.

This Moment came to me when I wasn‘t accepted by leaders of our church, that hurt me and ordered me to decide to leave this community. Getting wounded like this that hurt,also close to Munich, Germany as well.
Part of my journey of forgiving other Christians was realizing how much I didn't know about people. I was naive, and had low self esteem. Then it became a journey of forgiving myself. I'm still trying to figure things out, pray for me.

But I haven’t walked away from God I’ve been looking and waiting for the church that will teach the truth and places God before everything else

Wow...a body of believers applauded when they voted out of their church a brother and a sister. Actually applauded. Just one of the many reasons I have not returned to a church building.
@Jane Marsee Hi no I'm certainly not having a superior attitude or hiding behind any excuse. Just a fact.
I love my brothers and sister and fellowship with them and my Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit. The church today is not proclaiming to seekers to follow Jesus, but to follow a man made doctrine, point of view, a ministry or superstar evangelist with the latest revelation. Unfortunately when the man made doctrine is not followed or sincerely questioned wounding takes place.
Goodness yes we are imperfect! Every one of us! Me being the biggest imperfection.
But, the amazing most beautiful thing is my Father God doesn't see my imperfections. Jesus has covered each and every one of them. And you know what? He loves me all the same. And I'm encourage to keep putting one foot in front of the other follow Jesus who paid such a high price for me. To be clean and washed in the blood before my Father.
It's not the imperfection Jane, it's the continuous wounding of others in the Body of Christ.
And yes we walk daily in forgiveness of one another.
It's just the loving, gentle all knowing all seeing God that Jesus made a way for me to know and seek and be fulfilled isn't just in the building on Sunday mornings or even Wednesday night.
In fact He's right here. Right now and He's making it known to me how very much He loves you.

So getting back to what led me to comment in the first place.
A group of people who call themselves Christians applauded when the were voted out of their group. Were they so imperfect that they could no longer hang out with that group?
That is not the God I serve.
Please don't judge others you don't know who are fulfilled and walking with Jesus daily, but do not attend the tradition church building as we have been taught by men to do. If God directs me to go to a gathering at a building, I go. I'm just not following the building.
Knowing the Truth sets you free.
And my heart and mind are free in Jesus, because He made a way for me to know God's Truth.

She's Beautiful and this message is needed so bad. I've had this happened where ministers because I left a church by Gods instructions and left in love have lied and gossiped about me brutally. Its disgusting and the body of Christ needs to repent of this.
Was searching for a old documentary on God vs Satan or something of that nature that Mrs. Lotz appeared in on discovery or history Channel around 2002-2005 on a Sunday evening,but I found this,and I'm glad I did bc I've been wounded, a wounder, a Christian is exile. I'm not alone,and it does hurt worse from fellow brothers and sisters in Christ,but we are all human.
May we all remember we are human and to give it to Jesus,and learn to forgive freely as God forgives us freely who ask. ❤ 🙏

I am glad she wrote this book because I was hurt in church many times it was so painful than from who are not believers ,even pastors wife she was rude her kids always beat up my kids but because she was pastors wife we couldn’t say anything or she was saying was accident . Not sure how those people call themselves as children of god but do all awful things to you . I left that church long time ago ,after all I found out it wasn’t only me they hurt that’s why that church went down forever .

Thank you so much for this testimony. This is the reason why I am not in church. I am a Christian. I do choose to forgive because my Savior has chosen to forgive me.

It seems unthinkable that this lady - the daughter of Billy Graham, no less - would be wounded by anyone, much less another believer, but it gives me encouragement that if she dealt with it in a Godly way, then so can I.
Offence needs to be overcome by knowing who we are in Christ. So many of us suffer from being wounded or offended...may God help us to overcome.

VERY IMPORTANT that this comes out. Many saints have been run out of churches or left just to save their sanity. As women take over so too feminism, Wicca, paganism and thus the churches have fallen.
It's somewhat refreshing to hear someone like AGL say that she didn't go to church for over a year. I struggle with that too.

I cant wait to read this book! As a counselorIdealt with this way too often with clients! ! I wrote "COG if God is Dead did Christian's Kill Him?" Explaining a number of ways people are hurt by Christians, many who falsely believed they were doing Gods work!
Ann is such a passionate and anointed teacher.Much love for her Dad he delivered the message of salvation like no other.

That happened to my 17-18 year old son. I constantly prayed to God for help and for mentors for my sons and asked for help from this church to be mentors to my sons. But because of something I did (I naively took in one of his friends that had been kicked out of his home; I didn't know yet how bad teenage rebellion could get since mine weren't rebelling yet), some of the church elders told my son's girlfriend that my son wasn't good enough for her. My older 3 sons never got mentored from any church, Christian school (administrator was a jerk to my son when my son welcomed him back after being gone for a while), nor any Christian man. These incidents severely affected my oldest son. He did stray after that because the 'godly' men rejected him. The wild guys & beer drinking men did accept him. He was in a wreck a few months ago and is no longer with us. I will have to forgive these 'godly' people everyday for the rest of my life for, not just for doing nothing, but in their callousness and lack of compassion for the fatherless were actually cruel.

I can relate. I was single mom raising my son. Christian High school... prayed for a mentor for him, for one of the men to come along side him. Never happened. He is 29 and not walking with the LORD. Yet !

That's true. Not everyone who attends church is saved. Then again, there are people who are carnal Christians. That means they I'm more concerned about pleasing themselves than they are themselves than they are about pleasing God. That kind of thinking gives way to rebellion and all sorts of evil things if it's not brought into subjection. Some people would call it bringing it into check but I like to think of it from a spiritual perspective. It can ultimately cause their downfall.
I have actually known of people who died because they led this kind of a lifestyle.

Her book JUST GIVE ME JESUS was such a blessing in my life. This one was also incredible and so realistic in our churches (unfortunately).
I was wounded for many years, and year after year i thought it would get better. The reason for holding on was really the love of the Lord and that the Overseer of the church defended me until they finally got to him. I had told him my deepest hurting things about my life, and he started attacking me from the pulpit. Preaching about my health condition and comparing it to leprosy in the bible. That leprous people were cast out of the city. So i left and never looked back.

I found this book during a time when I had been wounded so deeply that I didn't know if I could survive. I have been hurt deeply before, but not by God's People. My take away was that there are Christians and then there are Christ Followers. I have clung to my friends who are Christ Followers. I can't tell you how much this book helped me. As always, God has provided the right tool in my hands at the moment that I needed it most. Thank you so much for your honesty and this beautiful book. Whenever I hear someone talking about being hurt at church, I recommend this book. God Bless you and yours!

I am a christian and my faith is between myself and Jesus. I don't rely on my faith being based on others...the worst treatment I have always received is by 'church' people. Its the non christians who have helped me more than the 'church people'....just because someone goes to church or says they are christians, doesn't mean they are trustworthy. You will know them by their fruits

Once I thought billy Graham was a true preacher- until I saw & heard him talk about non Christians being able to go to heaven. He was a Mason too, & often saw him do the Masons hand shake. Now my Only True Teacher is my Lord And Savior Jesus Christ, my God in heaven. Please Lord have mercy on your people & save us.

Forgive us AS WE FORGIVE OTHERS. Our forgiveness is connected to the forgiveness we give others.
There is an old saying "Alone you are born , Alone you go through life and Alone you die, and IF you get to meet a friend along the way, then count it a Gift for it is Rare!" the song Reverend Mr Black by the Kingston Trio eloquently expresses it.
Of course that is Not the Way the Lord intended Life to be, unfortunately that is how Life is even among so called believers. If it wasn't for my wife, my only friend, and Jesus, my only TRUE and Personal Friend,...I do not know how I would have made it through life thus far!!!

Ivan relate with her I went to a UPC church for 12years got divorced and was very involved in the church but some of the men were cruel and if you were single you couldn’t laugh and enjoy your fellowship with sisters if you had fun you were told your trying to bring attention to yourselves I left 26 years ago but still feel it hard to get involved in a church I go and listen to the word and leave alone, I’m scared to get close to people but I won’t go back to that type of people their legalistic and can be cruel
I asked a female pastor if she can pray for my mom because she was diagnosed with breast cancer stage 4..her response was just thank God she lived a long time.
Let me stand in proxy for that woman and say that I am sorry, that was not an appropriate response. I am praying for her, your mother, you and the whole family in this difficult time. 🤗

I refused to believe it until I did my own research. America is becoming enlightened and all evil is being exposed because as you know, we are living in the end of days. I am a devout follower of Jesus. I need to stay away from church to preserve my sanity and devotion to Him.

How I can relate to this subject. I do not go to church because of that very reason I built a wall up around me. The very people that was supposed to love me and protect me and be my family betrayed me so now I go It Alone because the Lord will never leave me never.

Gods church works in harmony, they are ONE in the Spirit! God is building us up in His body, into His building made without hands. He works in mysterious ways-and we are always bearing about in our bodies the marks , of He who was wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities.
What springs to mind, is that often the cruel people wins in the church. A big questionmark follows that thought.....

I read her book wounded by Gods people and it brought me rivers of healing waters. I've been wounded by believers since Pampers and even till this very day but God Jesus and all the bible are not this..
A church wounded my granddaughter. I hoped after grieving, she'd return and begin again. Instead she walked away. Having 2 world iew that diametrically opposed to each other, make it extremely hard to communicate. We h!vent seen her in 12 years. When we do speak with her, we always tell her we love her and so does Jesus. One day I pray she will! Come home! I'm sure of it😇 PS!ALM 27: 13-14 keeps me going, AND while I wait I service LORD. AND TRUSTHIM!.
I no longer go to church anywhere because I haven't found a church in my area that will accept my son who is autistic. He walks when he's stressed and church people don't seem to want to understand autism or any other disability. We were ask to leave a church years ago because of my son's disability so he was not raised in church, I taught him at home. Then we started to church again last year and I told the preacher and others about my son's walking and why he did it, everything went well for about 6 months, then a lady complained to the preacher about the walking. The preacher's solution was to have my son walk in the basement before church then come up and sit in his seat. Well, my son wasn't hearing the sermons down in the basement and he wasn't going to stop walking so he refused to go back to this church. He's now 18 and wants absolutely NOTHING to do with ANY church.
I'm an ordinated minister so we are having service at home. I want to start a church in this area where the disabled are welcome!

I haven't been in a church in four years. I don't miss at all. I have some Christian friends, I pray everyday for at least one hour. I listen to sermons from the Internet often, I listen to Christian music, etc... but I don't miss the politics, arrogance, falsehood of the Laodicea church. Jesus said that he wanted to vomit the Laodicea church. They are all the same, people competing, people want to feel important, rich people trying to control the church, etc... People who get hurt in church are always the ones that try to get involved and help. The ones that could care less and go home quickly after the service are the happy ones. If you have good Christian friends you don't need to go to church. What I remember from church is gossiping, jealousy, competition, selfishness, racism, prejudice, love for money, power game and politics. I've attended more than 15 churches through my life, in all churches rich people were treated better.

I miss the 700.Club .l watched them on cable tetevision for yrs.They are GOD'S people believing in GOD'S word teaching on who JESUS is GOD'S only begotten son who died on the cross for your sin's.Thank you JESUS for what you have done for me.(l am thanking the Lord)and also God's people for their help.l received JESUSsome yrs. ago and then about 3 yrs. Later fell back t[ sin and became the prodigal child.l asked for forgiveness and he forgives me.praise GOD he is faithfully and true!

The power of Forgiveness.
That's why my focus is ALWAYS on Jesus. The Word of God became flesh & dwell among men. Now that Word is IN YOU. There were times when I so wanted to complain or dash out but the Holy Spirit led me to pray over them. I did & I saw God's hands over them. You see God is not a respector of person He will put them through whatever they need to go through for correction & adjustments. Sometimes, it could be you that needs to make correction. But learning how to pray for one another is vital in the body of Christ. Esp learning to trust God. He will always respond as you endure patience. You will never learn this outside in the world but as the bible says its IN the church you will flourish! It's hard on the flesh or your mind because its for your spirit. God just wants us to love & pray for one another. You will to die (self) daily. Doesnt matter what. You are an overcome. Just stick to the Word! ❤💯😊

A Priest is only Humain
Interestingly, if I listened to friends and family, I'd never pursued unmasking purpose. It was ironically a certain village of Christians who cold turkeyed me and ignored my cries for help when I started. In fact, other than CBN, no one has prayed over the channel. The Christian community has largely discouraged me as being Bipolar and maniac and not hearing from God in regard to unmasking purpose. Thankful CBN prayed for me and my Channel. Also encouraged me when no other Christian dared.
It will hurt more if we would ever meet,for,the word of God would do all that really matters here,and as such,I do believe you would cry much more than now if we ever meet.
