I’ve been listening to this like ten times a day from the moment I found it a few weeks ago. It’s awesome.
Managed to catch Dub FX in his early days as a street musician in Christchurch, New Zealand 2004-2006 sometime during a busking festival. He'd record all his beats and samples live with his voice and (much smaller) pedal board and really build up a crowd (Christchurch is a small city even before we lost most our CBD in an earthquake)
Saw him a few years later in an indoor stadium, he found his sound and built up an audience admirably fast. But I'm so glad I got to see those early days, when he was selling his first CD's on the street. That raw sound was inspiring
