@@CodyRallMD lol your positive thinking reminds me of my dad; unfortunately due to many factors, the main one being lobbying for federal along with media many other less drastic ways of coercing gov, the public has much less power than we are made to think. But your right we are just to dumb or don’t care as a group to try and attack the actual mechanisms of control vs. saying vote for the right candidate and effectively dividing the country over really no difference. Focused on polarized items that only affect a fraction of the pop and have to real effect other than dividing.

I love brain slugs and hypno-toad of my own free will. 2014 Harvard study showed how magnetic stimulation of your head could affect your moral reasoning and the amount of regret you feel after making a choice that harms another. I'm not saying your wearable device is doing that, but to poo poo the idea that anything you wear on your head could possibly control your thoughts/emotions is just naive. And there are the unintended consequences when you are using new technology and people do not understand the systems they will affect even if there is nothing nefarious at play. I'm sure the watch companies that used radium didn't mean to give all those people bone cancer but they were willing to collect their money for the product until they were stopped from that process. Where is Philip K Dick when you need him? I'm not sure if my reaction to a crime scene will be neurotypical.

So I would just like to point something very important out.
There are people out there with homicidal ideations, having a thought does not make you act on it even wanting to act on it does not make you act on it.
Now we would be in big trouble if this technology had the ability to affect the impulse centers of the brain because they are the reason you are able to choose not to act on something.
We both know that the police would force you to act because they want to arrest you.
And we both know companies would force you to buy because they want to make money off of you.
In the end the only people that would be being hurt by experiencing homicidal ideations while these tech exist, are the people who have the ideation and society is using that to falsely claimed the ideation in and of itself made them commit the crime when that is never and has never been the case.

@@CodyRallMD The Dalai Lama once told a neuroscience conference that meditating five hours a day is hard work, and that neuroscience should be explored to its full potential to offer a shortcut to enlightenment.
His exact words were: _"If it was possible to become free of negative emotions by a riskless implementation of an electrode - without impairing intelligence and the critical mind - I would be the first patient."_
The Dalai Lama is considered a geshe, or scholar, of great renown in Tibetan Buddhism. He has consulted with many of the great 50, 60 or even 70-year retreatants and many other masters of spectacular accomplishents, as well as studied countless texts going back millennia. So for him to say this means a great deal indeed. Even moreso when you consider that he said this when he was already over 70 years old, at an age when many Buddhist practitioners are set in their ways.
He is very pragmatic as a Buddhist of his generation who grew up without electricity or indoor plumbing in old Tibet. A lot moreso than even a lot of Boomer Buddhists a generation younger than him who are weirdly resistant to this supposedly 'revolutionary' or 'controversial' idea.
It's not revolutionary or controversial to us, but we grew up surrounded by digital technology. We have taken it for granted for as long back as we can remember, and neither of us is a young man...but young enough.

Basically, we can reverse-engineer enlightenment, and with technologies a lot more powerful than those that are currently accessible in the consumer electronics market. Focused ultrasound is being investigated for many conditions, including mental disorders, addiction, pain management and movement disorders.
But it is also being researched for its ability to drastically accelerate spiritual practice. Right now, that research concerns using it to modulate the basal ganglia to produce what one 50-year meditator called "the deepest state of mental quiet I have ever experienced".
This sort of thing will be available as a 'helmet' anyone can buy and wear eventually to entrain their brains for them, although for the foreseeable future it will remain in hospitals, as it is being studied for its use in very serious conditions like OCD, depression and addiction.

Oh well isn't that thought to text thing just great, now if our host needs one of those technologies because they get laryngitis they can deal with artists claiming that they stole their books too, because they're not verbally saying the words out loud into talk to text.
Just like they claim that they stole their physical work because they're not physically capable of drawing the images themselves because of their hands damage.
Just great it looks like our hosts nightmare of literally losing all of their rights because they're impairments get worse and people don't care about their issues they only care about punishing people for not physically laboring are coming closer to being a reality 🙄.
I can just hear it now, you're not an artist that's not your work that AI created that there's no heart behind that it doesn't matter if it's literally a scan of your brain and your thoughts there's no heart behind it because it's not you that physically drew it, and it's not you that physically wrote it you're just stealing someone else's work 🙄

This tech is like 20 years old, they just have to slow-roll the general population, so that the insurance and policy makers can control the markets through strategic releases to certain segments...actual market chaos isn't good for business, manufactured industry-wide disruptions can be VERY lucrative. Most things are scheduled for de-classification after 20-30 years. There are groups that monitor those yearly releases, and then throw a start-up together with based on "new" technological breakthroughs. All orchestrated and controlled. Humans and persons are lower classes. They do not understand that these, along with many other words of legalese, are being used against them by pretend officials, who are essentially enforcing fake laws. Order followers are scared nazis! I do not comply or answer questions. Once you start, they presume that gives them authority (non-verbal contracts) and you LOSE your rights. Later on I discovered that corporations were selling the devices as toys, with no regards to safety or medical regulations . Lol to me.
Anyway, I thought back then about using AI (which was a novelty method at that time) to decode intent from the brain waves with higher accuracy than previous methods, which in consequence would have given me access to an endless catalogue of diverse though patterns from users. However at no point crossed my mind the idea of selling the data or even less, handing it to the government.
