OMG altitude sickness is horrible yet it reminds me of the altitude the Mormon leaders have. It makes you sick light headed , confused…… that is an example of the leaders. Sick from putting themselves higher than anyone else.

Nemo, when you say you can't excercise your priesthood do you mean as far as attending the temple? Can you still give a priesthood blessing to your wife or family? I think you are amazing for standing for truth. You are a man of integrity. I left the church after 60 years. I couldn't live with the pain and betrayal I felt when I learned I had been lied to. Lied to by men I had always defended and upheld as Prophets, Seers, and Revelators. Everyday I feel sorrow for those who believe the Church leadership would never lie to them. I now have to balance a mixed faith marriage and it is unbelievably difficult. God bless you Nemo. ❤
I believe he said he would not be able to give blessings or perform ordinances anymore. I think this is horrible. What is an honest person supposed to do once they realize the truth? It has only been a little over a month ago, while listening to a podcast about Joseph Smith, that I realized that my parents and I were lied to over 53 years ago and ever since.
Most of my life has been a sham! I left my country, moved to Utah, went to BYU, eventually got married in the temple which my father was not allowed to attend because he also briefly had no temple recommend. If I knew then what I know now I would have had a civil wedding. I feel it's too late for me now to completely change the track I'm on. My parents are deceased, my ex-husband died at age 42 and I only have one friend I can discuss this with.
I can understand how difficult a mixed faith marriage could be for you. I wish you all the best in living your truth!
@petrahinkley5489 Thank you. My parents couldn't attend my temple wedding because they hadn't paid tithing for years. It's the truth tellers that are punished and called liars. I was able to hold on to my belief that there is still a God out there. He doesn't have a special place in heaven for VIP mormons who don't drink coffee and pay 10%. I don't have to attend meetings or drown in guilt, and my relationship is with him, not some self-proclaimed middleman. I am sorry. So many of us are in pain. I trust very few people. My sister doesn't know what to do or what to think. She is in a constant state of anxiety, and her health has suffered. I wish you the best that life has to offer. I almost gave up on life and decided I won't let them and their church destroy me. It is horrible what they do to the honest and truth seeking people.
Until and unless you are excommunicated, most of the functions of priesthood work fine. D&C 121 explains when it doesn't work fine. But basically you are invoking the name of Jesus Christ and if you do that with faith, that's where the power comes from. Using priesthood is *demonstrating obedience* and it is obedience that brings power. Olive oil has no healing properties, obedience has healing properties. When the Israelites looked on Moses' staff with the snakes on it, snakes on a stick have no magical power, *obedience* activates power, and the angels that number in millions or billions, seeing obedience, perform miracles.

What he has is places for people that are obedient, and another place for people that are disobedient. Naturally, it matters what exactly a person is obedient TO or disobedient TO.
So a person that pays 10 percent and does not drink coffee; BUT has failed in the two Great Commandments, might as well have enjoyed coffee and saved the 10 percent for himself. But if a person is obeying the two Great Commandments, THEN it helps a bit to obey these "temporal" commandments. For most people, not drinking coffee has some health benefits (word of *wisdom* after all) and paying 10 percent helps build the Kingdom of God; and you're getting off EASY since everyone who went to the temple has *already covenanted to give 100 perent* . Had I known that was the covenant I might not have sought endowment, since I certainly do not give 100 percent but that's also not practical. Helping build the kingdom of God happens in many ways; such as right here countering those that are trying to destroy the Kingdom of God.
I'm guessing/speculating he's been told it's an informal dis-fellowship and can't do sacrament or exercise priesthood anymore, something along those lines.

I actually admire someone who is deciding to remain headstrong in the church, but is also calling out the higher ups on their lies, unapologetically and is refusing to back down and be bullied. Good on you!
My mother is still a member, but can’t participate fully because she refuses to sustain the senior leadership as well.

@@NEMOTHEMORMON honestly, I left the church a couple of years ago. I couldn’t continue supporting an organization that kept lying and leading their followers so falsely. That’s not even mentioning all of the abuse and whatnot that the church higher ups either ignore or sweep under the rug. I just couldn’t anymore. My mother, on the other hand IS still faithful, so it IS nice to know that there are others out there who, like my mother ARE still faithful, but not giving in to the lies the higher ups are spewing. It is ironic that one of the temple recommendation questions is, “are you honest in all your dealings” and some of the higher ups can’t even answer that one truthfully…

We should be able to have our own judgement of what is right and wrong and still be able to participate in certain aspects of the faith without shame. Back in 2020, I was invited to go to my sister's wedding in the temple. I had just moved so I had a new ward so I paid tithing once, asked the bishopric for a temple recommend interview, got the recommend, and then stopped going shortly thereafter. It was good for the wedding I had to go the following year despite being inactive on my way out and not paying tithing. This year, I was blunt to my mom and told her that's what I did to get the recommend, and she informed me that her and my dad literally did the same thing where they just paid tithing once and asked for a temple recommend and then never paid after. My family and I used to be devout Mormons years ago.
Nemo you have a valid fight. Dallin H. Oaks once said, " you do not oppose the church even if you are right" emphasis added. They are good at silencing their flock. As an ex-member once put it, while being ex-communicated, "there is viciousness behind that smile". Nemo you will be liberated from bondage.

That's an extremely important principle. If everyone who had the slightest difference of opinion succeeded in bending the church, it would break into millions of pieces; because other people are bending it their way and that way. "The church" needs a WAY and it can be only one way. Democratic churches tend to be weak; single congregations that struggle with internal differences. You cannot fail to have differences; brother against brother, child against parent.
So your choices are to sustain the church or leave it. Trying to bend it fails because millions have already tried to bend it and it won't be bent your way if it bends at all.

President Oaks implemented "home church" a year before Covid-19 broke out. Teaching methods have changed dramatically; at least on paper.
Enjoyed watching and totally agree, if politicians are dishonest they need to be called out, and if religious leaders do the same they should be called out and not be allowed to hide behind their hypocrisy.

How cavalierly some people criticize others with no idea of the emotional, physical, spiritual, and social costs that have been scrutinized for years, and those moving forward. Wasn’t there something about not judging the other in so,e scripture or another (sarcasm intended)? Being denied full fellowship, being denied full participation, being denied a Temple Recommend, being denied friends, all because of honesty is one of the most painful things a member can experience. Been there. Done that.

I haven't experienced social ramifications at all with the Church, I've been blessed to always be surrounded by very genuine members just trying to do everything they can to hold on and be honest and pragmatic (that's just what happens when you find the Church in the deep Southern US where people want refuge from the dogmatic hellfire theology they've been exposed to all their lives), but in seeing its effects on those who found the Church in areas where that's not the case, I can see exactly why Christ chased the merchants off of the temple grounds in rage. Not even a man of perfect ethics and self authorship could justify in his heart not acting in his Father's will.
It's heartwarming to see members express concern for the health of their closest friends and family in various parts of the world. It makes me want to return and be a participant in the Church again to know just how good I actually had it when I was active.

All my respect, Nemo! I feel you when you say we're encouraged to be honest but the top leaders are not. I'm looking forward to seeing this awakening in Latin America, too. I love the Church though I can't stand so much hypocrisy and injustice from the ones who are supposed to be representing the Lord Jesus Christ. Keep it up, Nemo!

I am a US citizen born and raised in the United States. 24 years ago I moved to Honduras Central America. I saw a General Conference talk from Elder Holland and he stood at the pulpit and said he was someone else. I was shock and in disbelief of what I heard. The General Authorities of the Church should be more careful because they don't know I a new convert or investigator doesn't know who they are. The church has received so much negativity they don't need more gas to put on the fire. I am so glad that it wasn't the prophet who said it. I am so sad because I believe and know that the church is true.

Sometimes the truth is not faith-affirming
I went down this path for a while. It was a path that at the time I totally didn’t realise what was happening. It felt like ‘my eyes were being opened’ to the ‘real truth’ and that all I had been taught and experienced was a lie. This was further enhanced by finding faults in local and other leaders which led to greater confidence and confirmation in this new found lens/bias which I proceeded to view the church and the world through.
With this new lens, I started to see many flaws in the people within the church past and present, and it greatly affected my own moral compass - though at the time I was too caught up in my own pride to see that this was causing me to be blind in the sense that Christ taught.
It was only through the darkest period of my life that I came to realise that there was only one thing that could bring light back in and that was the hope of Christ.
Once I started to let this light shine it changed my perspective to one of faith hope and truth - I had realised that I was reliant on my own understanding and had forgotten to trust in the lord. I started to look at the beam/s in my own life.
I came across a quote (not a church quote) that said ‘surrendering to being right is the pre-requisite to finding right’ - this helped immensely to heal conflicts, remove grudges and feelings of being wronged.
I had realised that in my pride I had stopped praying, stopped earnestly seeking for the spirit and stopped hearing his voice that was there all along in the scriptures that I thought I knew and didn’t need to read again for the -th times.
By doing this and viewing through this different lens again I saw the beauty, saw the good, knew that I had a lot that I could do to build rather than tear down, realised the beauty and peace of forgiveness, and focussed on my own journey and let God be the judge of others.
If there is any wrong doing, like many of the apostles of old, how great will be their sorrow -
I learned to try to see where I had pride and see my own journey and this has led to so much light coming into my life that I really hope many reading this will or have also experienced.

In short, my stake president framed me. I got punished. I provided an audio record of his confession to me. Other leaders said that evidence and witnesses are nothing against words or stake presidents. Then I got punished more.
Then I blackmailed them into paying for my gym and driving classes. It's not much, but it was a start.
Do you really think people are as dishonest as you a r e to believe that nonsense. So tell me, do you go to another church, or are you just another pretender like nemo?

I think this won't happen. They recognize excommunicating members does not silence them in the internet age. Moreover, Nemo is not influential enough for them to even bother. Maybe when he reaches 100k subscribers, which I doubt he will. I think Nemo's approach is just a waste of time. His main focus should be on producing high quality relevant content. John Dehlin's success is due to his high quality compelling interviews about life struggles of LDS members.

Also, I think Nemo's approach is central to his content. Def a big part of why I like to hear him on Mormon Stories and am now here. I say Nemo keep doing what you're doing and of course high quality relevant content is important as you stated.

Everyone thinks that the apostles and presidents are the judges in Zion, but God told us otherwise.
D&C 64:38 For it shall come to pass that the inhabitants of Zion shall judge all things pertaining to Zion. 39 And liars and hypocrites shall be proved by them, and they who are not apostles and prophets shall be known. 40 And even the bishop, who is a judge, and his counselors, if they are not faithful in their stewardships shall be condemned, and others shall be planted in their stead.
What did the Lord call the apostles, prophets and other church leaders? Liars? Hypocrites? So, they are as the scribes and Pharisees after all!

Thank you for all your excellent work. Just a thought: You should be able to exercise the priesthood outside of a temple recommend. As a man, you got ordained to the Mechizedek priesthood before you were allowed to go to the temple, so you’ve got that right unless you’re excommunicated. They can keep you from holding an office that puts you in a position to set someone apart in a calling, but that’s it.
He has the believers authority that no one can control. Holy spirit lives in each of us that believe and trust in CHRIST ALONE. Read Ephesians in the Bible. It tells you your position and your authority.. man wants to delegate his stuff, not realizing that God gave it through Christ, Faith, trust. God’s WORDS GO FORTH and NEVER RETURN VOID. God is the HIGHEST, MOST POWERFUL, and HE DOESN’T NEED man to represent Him. WE are not equal to Him, but we are in His image, and He has given us authority and dominion Genesis 1:26
Even the earth groans in response to Him and Word. All angels respond to His commands. His is our Father, not a BOSS. He accomplished all things through His Son. Jesus redeemed us to our original position. It’s all done by Him not us. We are dead in our trespasses until we accept the sacrifice of God. God paid the price, with Jesus His only begotten Son, who died as the perfect sacrifice. He knew no sin, but took all of our sins and conquered death and the grave. We get the incredible gift. We can not earn this gift.
He doesn't hold the priesthood. You never will.
Priestood automatically becomes inoperative in the following circumstance: D&C 121
36 That the rights of the priesthood are inseparably connected with the powers of heaven, and that the powers of heaven cannot be controlled nor handled only upon the principles of righteousness.

@rogerbrunt5918 that's a good question! I mostly go to ask questions in class we didn't know to ask. I also have been inspired by Nemo to stand opposed to the leadership as well at my local conferences. Again, to show everyone we can do it. I feel it's my privilege and DUTY as a member to do this.

Tithing is something most churches encourage you to pay but it's between you and the Lord. They are shocked when I tell them we are interviewed, temple recommends are revoked, and tithing settlement happens at mine

@@NEMOTHEMORMON Good for you!!! The church is basically the kid in the schoolyard who tries to make up the rules as they go so they always win. They "own the ball" (the ball being their claims of speaking for God) and because of that, the rules will always be "for thee, but not for me" when it comes to church leadership.
If more people were vocal like you, more church members will see the hypocrisy of the LDS leadership and their eyes will be opened that their claims of "owning the ball" are false and walk away from the game (church).
I couldn't even get a temple recommend interview. I am Temple Worthy. I was given 3 personal requirements of the Branch President and told the questions have changed. When I answered I know and have studied the questions for 2 weeks. Silence. Then a short discussion about my servicing the community. I asked again for the questions. The discussion ended with me in tears.
The question is, why would you want to remain a member of that church?
Maybe he likes the doctrine of the Church. And the Doctrine has nothing to do with money, LGBT issues, racism etc.

I was denied over not being able to afford tithing. But I have over $18K in medical debt and work 2 jobs and just wanted to go see my cousin get married. But the bishop had pulled up my tithing records and chastised me for not being a full tithing payer. That there was the beginning of the end. 😅 found out so many things, but mostly it was the misappropriation of funds. I keep getting sent to collections and TSCC is throwing away furniture that was probably imported from Jupiter.. but here's the thing. I thought being a full tithing payer was between me and God and I used my talents to help others, going above and beyond to be in service to God through the means I had possible, but money has never been something I have in excess... and have had this belief about tithing my whole life. Even when I was sealed in the temple to my husband. How can they live with themselves knowing people are starving and homeless?! The only answer is greed and evil. I am very thankful this happened, after all I may have never woken up and seen TSCC for who they really are.

From what I understand is that the church says pay your tithe and Heavenly Father will bless you. I haven't paid tithe in so long because I can barely afford rent, cable/internet, electricity, water and food. I am single and live by myself. Know that the church only helps the elderly. I wonder if that's why there are so many suicides?

I haven't payed tithing as well, so I have been "unworthy" to attend the temple. I really dispise that word "unworthy". Such a negative and degrading word. Yet the church authorities can lie and get their temple recommends. Then we find out that the church is worth billions of dollars (American dollars at that!). Yet people who haven't got the means to pay their tithing are "like second class members of the church". So wrong. God doesn't ask for fancy temples, nor fancy churches. God is for the people; and want us all to kind, love one another, treat people like they want to be treated, and to help your community in ways of helping them out with your service. I have told my Bishop I need to use my credit card just to make my "normal everyday expenses" each month. I will go to my grave in debt, even though I watch every cent I spend. I came on here this week to support Nemo. As such, I defended his position to exmormons who think he should leave and mormons coming here to call him to repentance, etc. In the process:
a) I was subjected to the most abusive comments imaginable from a mormon who is...unhinged, for want of a better word. He called me a lying witch and a lesbian (Not offensive in itself but I'm actually not gay, I was just defending the LGTBQ community against his homophobic comments. The point is this is *meant* as a slur - a position which I find very distasteful)
b) in engaging with mormons I had to contend with the usual hypocrisy and demonstrations of their mind control. I did this mostly for others to see this evidenced.
1)Unfortunatley this had such a negative effect on me that I have decided never to engage in the comments of any mormon related video again. I have been out of the mormon church for well over a decade and have been so much happier and healthier since doing so. Coming back to it was extremely triggering, to the point that it made me physically sick.
2)Towards the end of a 40 comment thread with a mormon, I quoted a number of NT scriptures that really show the christian point of view regarding the mormon church. It may be of interest to note that at this point I got blocked from commenting further; it seems someone reported me for spreading 'misinformation'.
These 2 factors resulted in me deciding to delete every comment I had made on this channel.
However, part of me really regrets this because the evidence for questioning mormons and others who may benefit from seeing this is now gone (at least my side of the "conversations"). But such is the price to pay for wanting to protect my own wellbeing and mental health. There is so much to say, but this is no longer my fight. I was lucky to escape this cult.
As a footnote, I think it really disappointing that a channel such as Nemo's has become a place in the comments for a huge amount of abuse, as well as exmos getting blocked from a place which is meant to be a safe space for exmos and transitioning mormons. I think this shows the level of mind control and abuse that he is up against. And my heart goes out to him. That is all, over and out.

I really don't understand why you didn't just leave like the rest of us, but I can respect it. I'm sure they wish you WOULD just leave. Just another of how many million? You can't really be surprised by any of this. It's not like there ever was a time in church history where the values they preach (ie. integrity) were actually upheld.

It isn't, or ought not to be, *about other people* but YOUR relationship to God and its instantiation on Earth. That is to say, nobody would need "church" for a relationship to God; what church is for is described at the Waters of Mormon; social companionship, bearing one another's burdens.
So you can decide that your wicked bishop is NOT YOUR PROBLEM to solve. You do not need to *steady the ark* so to speak. Obey the two great commandments; find and help other people.
A somewhat similar principle exists in the Navy; obey, THEN fix a problem. Obedience is appreciated and critique or steadying-the-ark behavior is a lot more tolerated from humble, obedient people.

Although my issue was less of a catch 22, I had a somewhat similar situation. I spent years working on my issues, did everything I could in good faith, had overwhelmingly profound spiritual experiences, only to be abused and manipulated. In the end the only reason that seemed to hold together was that the leaders of the church say so. I realized that to stay it would require me to completely abandon my personal spirituality, ethics, and morality to that group of men.
It is the instilled honesty and integrity that leads one right back out of the church when it is realized they don't follow their own admonitions.
I baptized and confirmed my kids with a multi year expired temple recommend. I did so with the bishop fully knowing I never want to go back to a temple with thumb extended. I did so with him knowing I don't know if there is a god. I did so on the one honest statement I could muster . . . I hope there is an after life.
The temple access card does not stop you from using the mormon force. They made it up . . . so can you . . . And I think you know that...

On the one hand I see it completely made up so I have no problem manipulating to sneak in but I also realize the daughter would know and that would hurt her [likely]. This system sucks.
Work really hard to connect with the couple and demonstrate that wedding and sealing are different. Not un important but different. A sealing ... seals a wedding. No reason a wedding needs to be devalued because it is outside of the temple. Have a wedding then go get sealed. Both can be beautiful. Add to that - youth often younger siblings are excluded from temple weddings at no fault of their own. just by age. I told this to my nephew before his wedding. He tried to shame me that I could get a TR. I responded that it was his 5 siblings I was referring to. More than half his family excluded because of age.

As a former Stake High Counselor (at the age of 27) I was railroaded into losing my temple recommend after similar concerns were raised about the lies spoken from the pulpit and the failure (refusal) of the first presidency to adequately defend themselves.

Thank you for your integrity, honesty and convictions. You have the PH and can use it righteously. I don't have a recommend any more because originally I quit paying tithing so I could get out of debt (and controversy between 'increase,' and 'income'). But with recent changes in the temple, things those in 'authority' have said that I disagree with, I will never try to get another one. It was brought to my attention the other day regarding one of the temple recommend questions. It asks if you recognize the current prophet to be the only person on earth to receive revelation..., or words to that effect. What about the 3 fellows that Christ granted to remain on earth until He comes back? That recommend question would definately stop me from getting another club pass.

Wow. How I admire your ability to communicate in a way that engages people. I believe commenting on your videos will help you reach many and get them thinking more.
But Nemo do you even believe? Would you even really want to go to the temple or exercise the "so called priesthood"? Or is it just really the matter of principle?
It is interesting to see how Nemo has essentially forced them to demonstrate their (apparent) punishments of first resort against a whistleblower for the crime of pointing out several top leaders' clear and undeniable pattern of mendacity and thereby causing embarrassment to the leaders and the church.
Punishment number 1: You can't go into the handshake and pay-lay-ale hokey-pokey funhouse and do voodoo proxy things for dead people. Punishment number 2: You can't use the make-believe priesthood and rub olive oil in people's hair.
I'm just hoping that they won't escalate the punishment by adding a third (possibly the worst and most painful) punishment: You can no longer wear the Jesus-certified underwear that was sold to you by the church and you can not purchase any new Jesus-certified underwear.
Not responding is absolutely not "tacitly admitting" Nemo is right. There are lots of times when I've not responded to someone because I knew it wouldn't make a difference and I had more important things to do. In fact, I can pull the same card and say that if Nemo doesn't reply to this comment, he's tacitly admitting that I'm right. And if you disagree with me then you're proving my point.
A tacit admission comes from silence after he had promised to provide response. If you promise to investigate something, and do not then provide counter arguments to the evidence as laid before you, that can be taken as a tacit admission that there is no counter argument to be made, because otherwise you would make them in fulfilment of your obligations. Context is key here.
Oaks set the expectation, he chose to engage, he promised to investigate. His failure to do so is relevant and telling.

Let it go, there are deeper mysteries to unfold Nemo. Your dedication is admirable, and sadly only you can make the decision to let go, create a new void were the church was and replace it with something better. I can see you are frustrated and in pain and I know this community played a big role in your life. Listen, you have so much more to learn and create without letting this small not even 200 year old story be the only thing you surround yourself with. Mormon born and bred, I did my mission in southern France and left the church a few years after returning in 2002. I found out why the church was so afraid of the Apostacy that it cancelled everything that had ever existed prior to JS, because they new it would never add up. It was only then did I go on my real mission for myself and found wonders that I can't explain using traditional mormon thinking. You can change your perception of this and in doing so uncover worlds you didn't know existed with faiths and good deeds that have just as much value if not more than the LDS church. If priesthood is really what you crave, then it's time to study how Joseph Smith really was trained in the arts of forms of mysticm. Stone seeing, Dowsing, fortune telling these were just the practices of their time and JS had access to all of it through his family's connection with Dartmouth College. Take a look at the LucyMacCode it's about JS mother. I think you'll find it rather appealing to you. You got this Nemo, you don't need to the church to tell you that you're a good boy anymore. You're a man, a man that is far from finished with his journey here in this world. So go on and be that. Nemo the Man. Trust me that space you think you're holding isn't as important as you think it is. I'm not saying GIVE UP. I'm saying refocus your efforts in trying to understand the purpose of this world. I remember that the leaders had said that if any learders are leading us a stray that they will be brought down. It looks like that is where a lot of the leaders are headed. If the church is true the crooked leaders will fall from grace.
I’m not a Mormon, but if it were up to me, I’d deny you a temple recommend too. The fact that recommend is a verb not a noun is obviously a concern here.
Unfortunately, that is the official usage in the Mormon church. You're grammatically correct, but only insofar as worldly learning is concerned. Apparently, at some point in history, one of the Mormon leaders gots himself a rev'lation tellin' him that recommend is one of those nouniferous doohickeys. The official card issued to a "worthy" member for admission to the Mormon temples is labeled clearly, in all caps, as a TEMPLE RECOMMEND. If you were to insist that they say "recommendation" and criticize the leaders for not knowing the difference between a noun and a verb, you would not be able to get your own temple recommend, let alone be in a position to deny one to anyone else. You could even be excommunicated and cast out from among the Lard's people.

That's right. Jesus ain't coming back until he gets an acceptable compensation package offer from the Church...and Jesus's target is something in the high quadrillions. Plus he wants a fleet of super yachts, a fleet of luxury limousines, a luxury compound on every continent, 500 private jets, Olympic-size swimming pools at each of the compounds and a well-trained staff of 10,000 men and women to manage his property portfolio. None of that is cheap...and with only a few hundred billion dollars right now, the Church has a long, long way to go to meet the target.

It’s not a surprise that the Church thinks that speaking out loud to the world - questioning Church leadership, the integrity of any leader, Church doctrine or history - means that you are not on board with one of the stated covenants in the temple ceremony that you sustain Church leaders. So, you can’t have it both ways I guess. You can’t question the leaders and also go through temple ordinances, where it is presumed that you do accpet everything Church leaders say, questionable behavior or not. You got my support, but I think you’ll have to accept not ever going through the temple ceremonies again. I made a conscious choice to do that myself (the temple movie is available on YT anyway if you want to refresh the ordinances) because the Church now occupies a space of meaninglessness in my life. I was raised in the Church. I’ve been done with it for about 20 years now. I was a serious student and voracious consumer of the scriptures and Church doctrine. But I see the manipulation, political activism and lies of the Church and don’t appreciate it. The Church should lose it’s tax status.
Most religions should lose their tax status, since they all influence their members how to vote!

There came a time that I had to admit that I was in a terrible cult and for my own sanity, dignity, and safety I walked away from this organization. You can exercise the Priesthood without a Temple Recommend. Unless you are on Church Probation or Church Disfellowshipped.
Nemo have you failed to understand that the corporate 501c3 is not expected to be honest. That question, “Are you honest in your dealings with your fellow man?”, is only for the lay members and not the fully vested employee and surely not the board members.

Maybe you could study and do a video on what Joseph Smith said about authority and using the priesthood.
The church does have an administrative system, but it also is highly decentralized. The early church had none of these gatekeepers for the missionaries and early members.
I’d be very interested of just how much you can do without “permission”. We know that there were a lot of splinter groups and power struggles. I think there is a lot to look at in that area and I think a lot of people would be willing to participate in ordinances with you.
I’d also suggest at some point you coordinate a letter writing and public pressure campaign on these things.

That said, I am puzzled by what principles of honesty and integrity you say the church instilled in you. The LDS church was founded on the integrity, or lack thereof, of Joseph Smith. These men are no different than the founder of the institution they oversee. They have been handpicked, not for their honesty but for their loyalty and allegiance to an ideology. That’s not to discount the many wonderfully honest men and women in the LDS rank and file, who are way better than their leaders. I wish you every success in standing up for what’s right. Any sacrifice on your part will not be in vain.

I lied to renew my temple recommend so I could go to my daughter's Sealing. I know, I'm horrible. She, her husband and I have now left the church. Oh, well
one of the definitions of the word "evangelist" (from the 6th article faith) found in the Webster's Unabridged Dictionary is this: belonging to Christian church which emphasize the teachings and authority of the scriptures IN OPPOSITION to the institutional authority to the church itself.
This is the Martin Luther principle when he tacked the 95 thesis on the door of the castle in opposition to the absolution of sins perfomed by the Catholic Church.
This is also found in the Book of Mormon with Lehi standing against the Jewish Sanhedrin (the rightful cultural rulers), Abinadi standing in the court of King Noah (again, king noah was a rightful ruler through bloodline), and Samuel the Lamanite standing on the wall telling a whole city to shape up or else. There is a desperate need to speak against wickedness in all its forms and be heard but we must always speak truth and be permanently anchored in the Gospel.

It’s in the handbook that temple worthiness is the standard to be able to exercise priesthood! As I am unable to obtain a temple recommend, I am therefore not temple worthy and unworthy to exercise priesthood.

"temple worthiness" however, is not defined by a piece of paper, and you absolutely can perform baptisms and blessings etc.. outside the temple. Participation in an Ordinance or Blessing
Those who perform or participate in an ordinance or blessing must have the necessary priesthood authority and be worthy. Generally, the standard of worthiness is that associated with holding a temple recommend. However, as guided by the Spirit and the instructions in this chapter, bishops and stake presidents may allow fathers and husbands who hold the necessary priesthood office to perform or participate in some ordinances and blessings even if they are not fully temple worthy. A priesthood holder who has unresolved serious sins should not participate."
