feels like rennick was able to put a lot more focus into writing this book with scv gone (rest in peace), really hoping once scv comes back that energy doesnt stop because this book is insane. although with lauren teel there i dont see troopers losing any momentum in their percussion section any time soon

Our nephew, Luke Petrowski, he plays baritone, ages out this year. It was amazing to see them practice and to see the show in Allentown, PA.

Gotta work on that cork shot Evan! Hand pressure. Fulcrum placement! LOL. This is at least the third line I've seen using clear scoops, but no one makes them look as good as the Cadets due to the shell color they're going with this year. One thing I've always loved about Rennick style writing as you guys have pointed out is that spock accent to snare drum sixteenth note trade-off. As long as he's been doing this at this point, it still never gets old.

Yea this is awesome. I was close friends with the center snare of Phantom Regiment during the early 2000s championship years, this style and intensity brings me back.

Troopers are killin it in perc this year- I could see them placing as high as 6th in percussion, given how slim the margins were between Phantom/Crown/Mandarins/Troopers at San Antonio. The 6-9 race (nice) this year is ridiculous- any of those groups could be in any of those slots on any given day. Hoping that everyone is healthy and ready to push their feet at Atlanta today!!!!

I really want that snare closing split to last to finals but it needs to get better.
All around I think quads are killing it with their clarity. Snares have some clarity issues when I’ve watched videos of troopers. Haven’t seen this lot video get. Ensemble wise between sections the rolls aren’t coming out as clear as they should. That or it’s the recording.

Oh, I’m hoping they can make top 10 DCI finals this year. I’m really happy with the drum book but unfortunately I think their show as a whole, in my opinion, is lacking in the opener. After that the troopers 2023 show is quite excellent but they are going to have to bring their scores up as a corps about two points if they want to make top 10 DCI finals for 2023. Either way it’s really nice to see troopers back in DCI finals after coming in 12th last year. 👏👏👏👏
