im a mechanic. banana like that would never block exhaust. Car if exhaust blocked would drive a certain distance anyway then as exhaust gas compressed loose power. That foot on foot off accelerator looks funny as hell though. well done. remember this from a kid.

Tvtn to just put a boot to the exhast pipe will prevent engine to start... But in film they moved the car a bit... As usual - no one has a tech education/advise/experience/try...... Yep, you might be right! I am not the preson who paying too much attention to the words, especially in such comments :) But I am not a writer, linguist or other "paper/words"-specialist. I am a tech person, and btw - not an expert in bananas ;) Bananas are only the objects which could be used to show some physical effect. In such video example - with car engine/exhaust. But even here therre is a lie! :) (All the time remember "Interstate 60" :) ) Unfortunately less and less people study physics and it is very sadly to see....
Actually it does move. We jammed a Potato in a car exhaust. Long before this movie come out. To piss off the owner.. It got three houses down the block. Then it started backfiring. Then conked out...
Then it could be the issue with the exhaust pipes somewhere before potatoe...It coud be not completely sealed (some holes in the exhaust mufflers/pipes, it could give such "short-time" movement). Because we tried on Audi just closing the pipe with the sneaker.... The engine didn't start at all ... till the time we clear the exhaust pipe. :) The car was almost new, all systems & pipes were in perfect condition...
