How does a coup even become an option because you do not agree with a government policy? Did everybody like every policy between 1992-2000 or 2009-2016. What sort of intolerance is this. Even when we had opaque ballot boxes, we dialogue, debated and argued in courts to bring change, and then used our thumbs to vote out after 4yrs. What is this incessant crave for power as if Ghana belongs to only a group of people. Will your party be installed into power after a coup? What happened to the beauty of democracy!

Kwame, thank you for the eye witness account. I was in Upper six at Accra Academy on May 15th 1979. I was in primary school on 24th Feb 1966. Kotoka's twin children were my classmates in 1966 and Brig Afrifa's wife was my class one teacher at Kumasi, Uddarra Barracks. Yeye Boye- Akakpovii, Odiifoo Asare and others. The memory is still there.

WhT can we do when the likes of Asiedu Nketia and all those who benefited from Rawlings coup to be somebody want to create conditions for a coup d’etat. I don’t know why they are still hiding under the shade of their ndc party to claim to be democratic. A true Democratic Party would never ever clamor for and inciting coups and calling for civil disobedience and chaos.

KSK those coup mongers don't know what they are talking about. They just read it from the books. Those of us who are above 60 years saw it and it was pathetic. A cousin of mine was nearly killed by a soldier at Maamobi just because the previous week he had beaten him in a Ludo competition and was teasing him. Fortunately he had gone to Accra New Town and when he got the hint he never returned to Maamobi again leaving the house he built behind for so many years because the soldier was his neighbour.

The sad thing is that the vast majority of those who destroyed lives with impunity did nothing to better their own lives or the lives of their loved ones. Many wasted the opportunities that they could have benefitted from.
Two soldiers, Goka and Laryea were the scourge of the lives of many families. Where are they now? Due to their reckless activities, they did not even survive long enough to appear before truth and reconciliation.
The military response only hands over corrupt practices to a new generation who would otherwise have not gained such access, or lack the nous or wisdom to deal with such power responsibly.

They think Ghana started to rot under the 1992 constitution & think the years gone by were golden years.
