- A "Frankenphone " Gramophone which has undergone extensive restoration , Motor a Thornes 2 spring unit, stripped down cleaned, relubricated, the 45 degree poorly soldered elbow replaced with authentic curved one, warped turntable replaced with Thornes turntable no warp ,better quality soundbox fitted, case polished & waxed, tone arm pivot replaced with longer piviot & bracing to support arm & to allow for smoother movement of said item, escutcheon fitted to winding hole , proving that with a lot of work you can make a good sounding machine from the poorly finished reproduction machines .playing "I Miss my Swiss" Ted lewis & his band, Columbia 3753

That's a great toe tapper!!😊
Very nice. There has been much speculation as to how much improvement these fakes would take, however you have done a excellent job in showing they really can be made to play very well! Thanks 😀 👍
Hi Thanks for the reply, the 4, main things on these is the 45 degree badly soldered elbow, rubbish repro soundbox , warped turntable & sloppy fit on tone arm to elbow , get these sorted & give the motor a good service clean & service & you are more then half way there to getting a reasonable machine
Interesting! Sounds wonderful, I might give it a try. Beautiful work!
yo that gramophone horn almost has the same horn as mine gramophone and nice work on it 👍 or you just bought it from amazon whatever you got it from but it looks good 😄
Hi The horn came with the machine but was very oxidised required a lot of elbow grease to get the thing shiny again 😬
I don't like Crapophones buth this one looks Amazing !!!!!!
By sorting through the spare parts draw & some effort , you can correct all the poor workmanship & come up with a half decent machine which will play well
You did a great job Tommy !!!! My compliments !!!!!
podruba jak ich durzo
Całkiem się z tym zgadzam, trzeba włożyć w to dużo pracy, żeby dało się je odtwarzać😆
