@Amoschinoz APOSTLE CHIWENGA FAILED TO ANSWER THIS QUESTION CORRECTLY AND WENT OFF TOPIC. I WILL EXPLAIN IN DETAIL BELOW.
Let us look at the questions the woman asked. She said, " MUKADZI AKARAMBWA NENYAYA YEHUPOMBWE HABVUMIDZWE KUROORWA, DOES THIS APPLY TO MEN AS WELL?
The audience then grumbled at this until Apostle Chiwenga told them to keep quiet as the question was intended for him and not for then. He then asked her again and she asked a second question. She said, "HOW DOES THE LAW OF GOD DEAL WITH AN ADULTEROUS MAN? TINOFANIRWA (AS WOMEN) KUITA SEI?
Apostle Chiwenga went on to change the question and translate it from a fleshly matter to a spiritual matter and started talking about Jesus and his bride the church. THIS WAS VERY WRONG!!
    BIBLE CASE STUDY:
When the Pharisees came to Jesus to ask about divorce he didn't make it a spiritual matter he answered them plainly. Apostle Chiwenga is NOT Jesus but as a man of the cloth surely he should have drawn lessons from that.
    SCRIPTURAL BASIS:
In Leviticus 20:10-12 and Deuteronomy 22:22-24 the law of Moses was very clear that a man and woman caught in adultery must BOTH be put to death. It does not say the man must be spared.
Apostle Chiwenga went on to talk about biology and suggested that men cannot help themselves, that women with ADULTEROUS husbands must just accept it. THIS TOO IS A POOR APPLICATION OF SCRIPTURE.
    CULTURAL BACKGROUND:
In the time of Jesus both men and women were afraid to commit adultery because it was punishable by death.
In Matthew 19, the Pharisees brought a women caught in adultery to Jesus and wanted to stone her to death. Their objective was to test Jesus. What is surprising is that adultery is an offence committed by two people also the law of Moses is clear in Leviticus and Deuteronomy that both the man and women caught sleeping together must be killed. The Pharisees knew this law, so why did they want to punish the woman only????
    MODERN SOCIETY :
Today adultery is considered a sin but NOT a crime. Also people caught in adultery are not put to death. In fact if you kill someone for adultery you will be tried and convicted of murder in court and punished severely. SO THE QUESTION REMAINS WHAT DO WE DO WITH AN ADULTEROUS MAN?
THE 7TH COMMANDMENT SAYS, "THOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY" THIS APPLIES TO EVERYONE, NOT JUST WOMEN!!!
Culturally in the time of Jesus's and in our African cultures today. A man PAID dowry/bride price/lobola for a woman. Which is why JESUS SAID that A MAN COULD DIVORCE HIS WIFE IF SHE COMMITTED ADULTERY. THE MAN WAS THE BREAD WINNER AND PROVIDER FOR THAT FAMILY AND WOMEN WERE SEEN AS PROPERTY BELONGING TO THE MAN.
The challenge is that in western cultures people don't pay lobola /dowry. Also in interracial marriages there is no bride price to be paid. SO HOW DO WE DEAL WITH THAT? TIMES HAVE CHANGED??
AN PROMISCUOUS HUSBAND CAN BRING DISEASE HOME TO HIS WIFE IN THE FORM OF STIs AND EVEN HIV/AIDS.
IS CHIWENGA SUGGESTING THAT IT'S OKAY THE WOMAN MUST JUST ACCEPT THIS, SUFFER AND DIE A HORRIBLE DEATH AND LEAVE THEIR CHILDREN AS ORPHANS???
THE LADY IS ASKING A GENUINE QUESTION BECAUSE THERE ARE REPEAT OFFENDERS WHO ARE UNREPENTANT. AGAIN THE 7TH COMMANDMENT SAYS, "THOUSANDS SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY". THIS APPLIES TO BOTH WOMEN AND MAN.
THE TRUTH IS THAT THE BIBLE DOES NOT SAY WHAT MUST HAPPEN TO AN ADULTEROUS MAN BECAUSE IN THOSE TIMES IT WAS THE MAN WHO MARRIED THE WOMAN AND THEREFORE HE COULD DIVORCE HER FOR ANY REASON!!
SECONDLY, ADULTERY WAS PUNISHABLE BY DEATH SO INCIDENCE OF ADULTERY WERE VERY FEW. THIS IS ALSO WHY THE JEWS PRESSED MOSES TO ALLOW THEN TO DIVORCE THEIR WIVES FOR ANY REASON.
JESUS WAS CORRECTING THIS TEACHING/POSITION. THE MOTIVE OF THE JEWISH MEN WAS WRONG WHEN IT CAME TO DIVORCE.
THEY WERE DIVORCING FOR SILLY REASONS. IF THEY LUSTED FOR ANOTHER WOMAN THEY WOULD SIMPLY LOOK FOR A REASON TO DIVORCE THEIR WIVES.
FOR EXAMPLE WOMEN WERE BEING DIVORCED FOR BURNING THE FOOD BY ACCIDENT, SPEAKING OUT OF TURN OR ANY SILLY STUPID THING!
In conclusion, TO ANSWER THIS WOMAN'S QUESTIONS, guided by scripture, the Holy Spirit and common sense. I believe that if a man commits adultery repeatedly and unrepentant a woman can divorce /separate from him.
No one wants to suffer emotionally and physically. THIS IS NOT A GIFT FROM GOD!! THAT'S WHY I DISAGREE WITH Apostle Chiwenga.

@@libertychikanda7329 That's a good question. Where was the man?
According to the law of Moses he should have been punished with death as well.

    • @yllabis
      @yllabis Před 10 dny

@@libertychikanda7329 God hates divorce it's say so in Malachi 2 and Jesus said that to the Pharisees as well when they asked if they are allowed to divorce for any reason. I want to emphasise the word Any here, because ANY includes adultery.
Cultures have evolved and you need to appreciate that but Bible truths remain. I agree that woman should not divorce her husband but I equally agree that a man should not divorce his wife even when she has committed adultery.
Adultery by men has severe consequences. He can bring STIs and diseases like HIV back into his marital home. Surely this is not acceptable.
I would rather suggest that a woman who has an adulterous husband be allowed to separate from him especially where he is a repeat offender.
This man must receive counselling and rehabilitate himself . After which he can be reunited with his wife.
During this period however long it is both parties must not get into relationships with other people but must honor their marriage.
If the differences are irreconcilable or if the man refuses to be rehabilitated then there remain separate and unmarried until either one passes away leaving the other to remarry without violating God's law.

Scripture says the only reason for divorce is Fornication not Adultery (they are two different things check English dictionary)
The man of Genesis 1:27 was not the same as of genesis 2. The man made in the image of God was both male and female and a spirit man, the one made out of the ground is not in the image of God because God is not flesh but Spirit (that's scripture)

Adultery is the only reason for divorce biblically not fornicating. If you are not married but sleeping around it’s called fornicating. If you are married and you sleep with someone else other than your hubby or wife that Adultery.
Yes adultery and fornicating are true different things and I just explained them.

But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.
      That’s Jesus in Matthew
Show me the scripture which says if a woman commits adultery she can be divorced

I only gave definitions for fornicating and adultery. The difference between the two. I think we are saying the same thing but from a different angle. In other versions that scripture says “ you can only divorce your wife for sexual immorality”. The point is which I agree with if your wife sleeps with someone else which is considered sexual immorality or adultery you are free to divorce them which I agree with cos that’s what scripture says.
That scripture goes on to say whoever marries that woman causes her to commit adultery because God says you can only remarry if your spouse dies. If you divorce you stay single as long as you have a living spouse but are free to remarry if your hubby or wife dies.
      1corinth 7:39
A wife is bound by law as long as her husband lives, but if her husband dies she’s at liberty to marry whom she wishes, only in the Lord.
The only reason a wife can be divorced is kuhura ie sleeping with someone else nyaya yanetsa chete is translation between the words adultery & fornicating otherwise we are saying the same thing.
I’m a single woman and if I’m sleeping around unmarried I’m fornicating, you cannot say I’m committing adultery because I’m not married I’m single.
Fornicating definition: consensual sexual intercourse between a man and a esp single woman who are not married to each other.
Adultery definition: voluntary sexual intercourse between a married person and a person who is not their spouse.

@@TribeofLevi0404 in short it’s true that fornication is a reason for divorce contrary to your claim the only reason is adultery, the verse specifically says except for fornication. How readest thou? Hence you are not saying the same thing.
