  • TAMING A TOUGH CROWD IN THE WORLD AS WE'VE KNOWN IT - April 27, 1961...America's 35th President, John Fitzgerald Kennedy, handled the media with confidence and respect during his brief time in office. He dealt with matters seriously but he was not shy about expressing his sense of humor. In a world dominated by print media, his inclusion of radio and television reporters into his news briefings eventually leveled the playing field for those electronic mediums - a fact which he poked fun at newspaper publishers about during these remarks in New York City...

    Those of us that remember this President who invigorated young and old alike were lucky to be old enough to appreciate what was lost that terrible day in Dallas. It was for many of us of a certain age a time of loss of the Nation’s innocence.

    • @freeguy77
      @freeguy77 Před 2 lety +1

      If he had lived after his time in the White House, he could have been a journalist himself. Or a book- or article-writing satirist with his amazing sense of humor, poking fun at others, and himself, plus serious discussion on the contradictions and hypocrisy he knew all-too-well. He was a once-in-two -generations politician; now a dirty word! He wanted to make the politician into a more respected profession, but it is impossible to put lipstick on a pig, as the saying goes! Pols have to bend their principles (if any to start with) to get votes, which automatically limits their ideology if wanting to be consistent. If he had survived into campaigning for re-election, he wanted to seriously debate the ideas with his good friend: Sen. Barry Goldwater! They were friends, despite the D/R difference label and some policy disagreements. Goldwater despised and distrusted the conniving, dishonest, and lying 36th president, from Texas. The low blows, and lying on Goldwater by the 36th proves Goldwater's disgust and distrust of him. The corrupt, sociopathic, alcoholic, and bi-polar (manic-depressive) 36th was a perfect example of the type that Kennedy wanted to change to a more respected profession, but the 36th (37th, and the others following) all proved how bad the profession really was. Kennedy would not have succeeded in changing the people's view of future pols, only of himself. Pity, he was not given the chance to make a longer time impression than the mere 34 months he had. Remarkable that he did inspire as many as he did in the small amount of time given to him, by the sheer force of his extremely attractive personality, with no political scandals. That could have changed for him, if the press wanted to write (or televise) about his marital affairs and drug use for pain relief on his back or elsewhere.

      @freeguy77 Před 2 lety +3

      My favorite pic of him (my avatar of it) shown in full at 2:07 (side view; 2:30 front) , taken from his Feb. 7, 1962 press conference, pointing for another press to ask another question he had so much fun in answering it with the best humor I've ever heard in a president, and that includes the 40th president (1981-89), who did not have the incredible hold on the people quite as much as Kennedy did. RIP to the 35th president, who truly desired peaceful co-existence with the old USSR, and Cuba (after Oct. 28, 1962-Nov. 1963), murdered because he wanted peace, while his enemies wanted war! In Sep. 1963, he proposed a joint U.S.-U.S.S.R. space mission, almost 12 years before the two had their Apollo-Soyuz space mission in July 1975! Kennedy was far ahead of his time, but his life was already unfairly taken away from him

      @@alfredfreedomjones5105 You did not know the blackmailer from Texas did exactly that low action to force Kennedy to make him the VP? Here is the real story from July 1960 in L.A. #35 had already picked Sen. Stuart Symington (D-MO) às his VP! The Texas creep wanted that job, so he could be #36, at the best opportunity to do the coup that was done 3 years later. #36 had his good friend (and neighbor) FBI Director Hoover to show Kennedy the 201 bio file his fellow blackmailing schemer had on the affairs and other sordid stuff the FBI compiled on him. If the VP pick was not the Texan, Hoover would gleefully run that dossier over to Nixon's campaign, and let him do the public revelation of what Kennedy did in his past! Blackmailed! Kennedy had already asked Symington, tough on defense, to be his VP, with the latter already having his acceptance speech written! Kennedy had to switch, else his popularity would have plummeted with the revelations about him made public after Nixon had it. Robert went ballistic on the switch, but the sociopathic, alcoholic schemer had the goods on JFK, so was forced to make the blackmailer his VP. That is the real background why the Texan got to be VP, a crappy job--and he knew it--but had to be taken so he could later plan the coup to become #36. All detailed in Phillip F. Nelson:s blockbuster expose book on the Texas schemer's lifetime urge to become president---at all costs, including another killing job. He hired and paid a long time hitman Malcolm "Mac" Wallace for himself to knock off (7) people who got in his way of his lifetime goal to get to the political top. On Tue Nov. 19, 1963, Kennedy, now safely elected as the president, after asked by his secretary, Evelyn Lincoln, who his VP would be and will it be the same man now? Kennedy told her bluntly, paraphrasing his exact words, but close enough: "No, it will not be Lyndon, I would like to have Gov. Terry Sanford (NC) to be the VP." Lincoln wrote that memorable discussion in her memories for her later book on her 10 years as his secretary, to document Kennedy's plan on who was to be the next VP. No, it was not necessary for the Texan to be VP just for the Southern States. He would have had Stanford, a moderate on civil rights. Lyndon had too many negatives, as the word has gotten more publicity--or about to be in the public, on his corrupt dealings, bribery kickbacks on all defense or other legislation to be passed by Congress if in his controlling past areas of influence. As also with his Pentagon, intelligence, government connections since he was a Representative, Senate, Majority Leader, through his VP years, 1937-63! Money and power was his twin desires, since his poorer growing-up years!

      He was for the people and even though he was a democrat that cared for the people and to do right for the people he was also to conservative for the democrat party and they hated him for that because JFK would not do their bidding. Today in 2021 you can see what the democrats are doing to destroy anything conservative and the American way of life freedom and prosperity. First thing that Bye den did was sign off all the great executive orders that was making America great President Trump put in place and after all the years of democrat blunders we had a person in the WH for 4 years and that whole time the Democrats tried to Ruin Trump anyway they could. Putting him down around every corner and had the bias main stream media push propaganda that Trump was a racist and the Russian Collusion was a total blunder of LIES by the dems.
      Another horrible person is maxine waters a twit that was inciting domestic violence on the streets, btw twice she did this twice and was never held accountable, but if a Republican did that it would be all over the news and the person would have been persecuted for it. Throughout the centuries Democrats have been very forward with their agendas, just look at the bullshit that didn't have to be with the cv-19 lockdowns masks and to have a bozo like Fauci that constantly flipped back and forth on the issues with masks, all about power and the rich and a total control issue to see how far they could go in destroying the economy and destroying businesses.
      Florida got sick of it all because it was not a pandemic and banned their masks, After what Cuomo did in NY by killing off thousands of elderly with impaired lung issues and medical issues by placing people that had the flu in rest homes and care facilities. Just like they tried it with the bird flu, N1H1, and other viruses that have come and gone. Seems they want humans to forget that they have an Immune system that provides us with a healthy body fighting off unknown crap, but we also have to work at keeping our immune systems up to par by eating right, not just eat to eat and become unhealthy and obese.
      I knew many years ago watching which way the world was turning and dreaded the 90s kids who would never know true history. It's all be a smoke screen now and people have become like sheep. Now today the mandate has been taken off. BTW, the vaccine is not a vaccine and the swabs from what I read contain something on them and if you knew you probably would never had the test done. People have forgot how to research for themselves but that is what Fluoride in drinking water has done to the human brains. You can look at all these things yourselves but why bother when you trust idiots in the WHO and cdc that fabricate and change outcomes to suit their agendas... Why do you think they went after JFK ! .. Just like they tried with President Trump !!!

      @T L Townes there was a time when we didn’t elect presidents because of their race or gender but on their qualifications. There was a time when we didn’t allow senile old men with a failed 47 year history of doing nothing who uses his political connections with China to sell out the people of the United States to foreign interests and oppress its people through socialism which is a proven failed ideology all around the world. There was a time when we elected pro American presidents who didn’t want to upset the American way of life by raising taxes, taking away our cars, slaughtering g innocent children in the womb and allowing a wholesale invasion by illegal immigrants.

      @T L Townes I felt the same way going off on Trump being a so called failed businessman because if he is such a failure why is he a multimllionaire? Oh and no one EVER called him racist until he ran for president. Maybe all thte presidents have been white because they are the only ones who were QUALIFIED to run? Even then, they made a big deal over Kennedy running for President because he was a Catholic. Even MLK's father said he wouldnt vote for JFK simply because of his religion, even after he got his son released from jail. JFK said his religion wasnt relevant, as well as race and gender, which is what MLK JR also said in 1963, except today they hire people based on their race to fill big government affirmative action quotas and that is morally wrong.

      @T L Townes The only man who came close to being qualified to be president was General colin powell, but he choose not to run for the office...he would have been far more qualified thn your false god obummer, or the senile old man who just recently stole his way into office. If you think the American people are going to accept Hairplugs socialist oppression, THINK AgAIIN! tHE DEMOCRATS IN THE HOUSE LOST SEATS AND THE REPUBLICANS WILL MAINTAIN THE SENATE. hAIRPLGUS CANT KEEP AVOIDING THE PRESS and the truth about his corrupt Chineese connectoins will eventually come out as they should have been before the election if the liberal media had been honest. Deep down you know Hairplgugs is a fraud and if the Democratic party keeps pushing socialism they wont even get electedd to dog catcher! but i guess you aint black enough unless you vote for Hairplugs.
