I’d like to see a traitor run where you only get kills by using the cannon fire from standing outside the play area too long. It can be outrun and you could use the explosion resist armor for a bit of extra tankiness! I’d call it the Benedict Arnold Run.

Legit a strategy my friend and I use in the kill x terminids mission, when there are a ton of bile titans or enemies and you're out of options, it becomes THE option
@@GeeNo_ 100% In extermination, running around with the dog backpack for the hordes while the traitor cannons kill the bigger stuff is totally a viable strat. Also very funny.
they got more cannons for traitors than the actual enemy 🤣 that trator cannon is relentless

Malevelon Creek used to have only 3 stratagems, Ion Storms and delayed stratagems, I didn't even knew they changed it
It still did, just a few days ago. Hm. 🤷
Ion Storms is a planet effect, the other two were operation modifiers. Currently, complex plotting and orbital fluctuations are not faction-specific, and Bots have only AA defences as their unique modifier since Electronic Countermeasures got killswitched due to literary issues with people not reading it and thinking it's a bug.
You could see he had three effects going on, on malevelon creek, which meant there were either two modifiers, or one modifier and weapons experimentation. In this, he had Orbital Fluctuations and Complex Stratagem Plotting.
On difficulty 4 and lower, there are no operation modifiers.
@@g80gzt I think the bigger issue was it's implementation. If it was swapping the stratagem inputs or something I think it would've been fine but how it just randomized your stratagem made it completely RNG dependent to call in stratagems which wasn't fun it was just incredibly frustrating entering in stratagems 5 times in a row trying to get the one you want.
If this planet is not a forest planet i think it will be harder because this planet is mostly flat planes and bots will always see you that way
Malevelon is not the hardest, there are so many trees and rocks that you can use for LoS to escape the bots, Ustotu is a real nightmare in comparison, no cover and a map wide stamina nerf too.
He did talk about the same point as yours near the end of extraction tho, guess you commented just a few mins in.

Impressive run!! I did try doing a deathless run like this earlier but only with secondary and stratagems on Suicide to unlock the achievements. I noticed that you were playing a bit "too safe" when it comes to sneaking that you could've saved a lot of time by just treading through the POIs.
The Scout armor perk really does make it harder for them to detect that you could be proning in front of them and they won't notice you at all. You should try and experiment with the range to see how far (or in this case, close) you can sneak up on them.
Also, the bots do seem to have an "alert phase" before actually being aggroed which can usually be noticed by them making like a surprised noise followed by a red light beaming. This won't make them shoot you directly but sometimes will be pulled to the area to scout. It's a good way to pull them out and also a good indicator to either change stance or reposition while still maintaining cover.
Terminids also have the alert phase, FYI
First time watching a solo 0 kills run here. I understand how it may feel cheesy to use against bots but man, does the stealth make for some intense gems of footage. Your commentary is just spot on as well. Please friend, keep it up !
Also makes me wish you could clone yourself or something so we'd get some multiplayer coordinated action made the way you conduct your solo runs. But heh. C'est la vie. 😎
Hardest planet is probably bots in the desert like Ustotu, little cover, long sight lines, and sand clouds make it hard to see distant bots that will have no trouble shooting you
i would like to see you tackle a solo eradicate. i got close on terminids once, but the enemy density is just so tough!

I agree with you on Malevalon not being the most difficult planet. Its very challenging because the bots can hide in the trees, and the ferns can ricochet bullets which is a royal pain, but wide open maps like Ubanea are more challenging as fire can come from much further away, as well as it making stealth much harder.
Watching your solo runs has really taught me a lot and encouraged me to give them a shot. I still find myself in too many fights. I would like to see a challenge with Tesla tower, arc thrower, EMS strike, and rail cannon strike.
Have you thought about doing reviews of peoples play throughs to give tips?
I love how creative these challenges can get, I hope we'll get more variety of stratagems for these, too. Imagine silent weapons, more disrupting stratagems, melee weapons... etc
How do you always manage to get the super samples? When I do solo runs I extract with the two common samples around the extract point.
I've been incorporating some of the stealth tips into my games as I play more 7+ difficulty games. I've found a new use for the jetpack during extract. If you don't have aggro you can jump up somewhere and lay down and since you're too high the patrols are unable to get line of sight, I like bringing it now especially if I know there's the 4 minute extract because I'll go solo to the extract point while my team finishes the main objective so that way Pelican 1 is ready to get the hell outta dodge soon as they get to extract.
Also if you leave landing zone during landing pelican will hover in the air and shoot until someone comes back into range.
Bots patrolling extraction point: “hmmm what’s that glowing yellow shield lookin orb thing” “ahh don’t worry prolly just some plant”

And shield generator can block stun grenades effect on you!
Alternatively the EMS mortar could have replaced shield emplacement, it constantly stuns enemies and could be used as a distraction
Only reason why malevelon creek and bots as a whole feel harder to fight is because players treat the bots like they would the bugs; like a horde shooter. Think of bots like a CoD campaign on one difficulty below veteran and treat the bots like you would any other npc in the CoD campaign. And for the love of liberty, remember your ABC's: Always be Behind Cover. The trees may speak binary but the wind whispers _Freedom_
The only reason why Malevelon "is" considered the hardest is because that's where we got our first defense missions the ones where you have to escort civillians and the spawnrate was a little broken back then if you remember so it spawned about twice as many enemies as the eradicate mission only for longer and you had to try pressing buttons rather than just killing bots.
13:00 ive had a few moments playing where i guess my game glitched and had a full group of small bots just staring at me and not attacking it was kinda funny. they’d even step away from me when i got close like they were scared
Scout Armor is great for stealth but medic armor and supply pack for extra stims and stun grenades guarantees a lot more time on the terminal. Also, the Shield Generator not-pack is a static enemy taunt, it gets the attention of all nearby enemies and they will rush and often prioritize to destroy it asap so if you put it on a cliff or behind cover it's a good taunt dummy.
I cannot BELIEVE that you didn't show the after-mission stats on the ship for that 0 kills

The shield generator actually works as a pretty good distraction since enemies love to target it and even ignore you to attack it sometimes
You mention the possibility of suppressed weapons coming in. If true, I am curious on if it would be done correctly as in the use of subsonic ammo loads as well. I can tell just by listening some of the guns already run subsonic, however running supersonic through a suppressor is still pretty noisy as the round still breaks the sound barrier and the crack is still pretty loud. May make cover fire disorient the bots more though. Would be very interesting to have a fire mode selection for running whispers though. The devs are mostly veterans and shooters, and blown away with their attention to detail so far, but would love to see if and how they add cans to the game.

The hardest planet is the one where 3 other helldivers attract all of the large bots, and 6 reinforcement patrols right on top of the extraction pad with zero time left. So all of them.

since you had "trouble" finding the radar station again - you can tag side objectives with q to reveal them on the map for yourself and your teammates

Jump-Pack, EMS Mortar, Shield Generator, EMS Strike. Very entertaining idea.
There's currently some bug with automaton pathfinding which causea patrols to gather near bodies of water, at the centre of the map, hence the massive bot armies, and the pacifist bots, who have "noticed" you but are also trying go to the centre, and just end up sitting around staring at you

The discipline not to automatically fire back is amazing
The mech exosuit lets you walk into EMS areas and while you're in the mech you can move as normal.
You absolutely can disable stratagem jammers and illegal broadcasts. Both just have a terminal below you can use to disable them.
Also, i feel like the shield generator has 2 uses. You can either drop it on the outside of a base and use it as an escape point, or you can try to place it so the edge of the shield covers where the panel is (basically putting it 10 feet away from the panel). This way you can shield dance like you're winston in overwatch.
You can, but they have bots standing around usually, and given how little time was left at the end ignoring them wasn't a bad play.
You should do a grenade launcher run
Please do a turret only challenge. All main/side objectives+extraction.
Tak, create a build that makes Heavy Armor viable.
I recommend including the Jetpack, but I haven't tried _everything_ with it yet.
So far, it's been surprisingly fun brawling with bots.
You could of gotten the illegal broadcast, it has a terminal to shut it down, and the stratagem jammer could have been disabled with the terminal also, you wouldn't complete the objective since it requires destroying it. But you could at least use stratagems again. Also the scout armor pin dropping mechanic has a range, so it won't show enemies if it's placed to far away from the player.
Can we get some turret action for the next one?

FYI, if you have 3/4 grenades and equip them (pressing 4 on PC) before grabbing a resupply, you’ll end up with 5/4 grenades in your inventory!

in helldivers 1, wearing the shield pack allows you to walk through the static fields, it's a shame they never brought it over to the new game

If you throw one grenade then hold your grenades out when you resupply, you can overstock to 5/4
I am kind of a turtle-guy or a support guy. Either I throw bomb-stratagems around for people or when playing solo, turtling myself in with turrets and let them do the work :3 Would like to know if you can run all-turrets and clear out everything only with turrets and not shooting yourself.

Me and my helldiver squaddies did malevelon creek on helldive at level 20, during the 3 strategem only and the +150% stratagem modifiers, god that sucked. Undergeared and offensive stratagems were practically useless, an orbital precision strike took ~30 seconds to land, even tanks would move out of the way before they hit.
Already mentioned it....arc thrower doesnt make noise. It is a stealth weapon.

The bugs can smell you, which makes sense of why stealth works better vs bots
on a planet like ustotu this challange would be, i think, entirely impossible unless you roll a good map. there is like no cover, and i had situations were bots try to snipe me from half the map away because they kept sight lines

Yeah the forrests give players lots of cover. I have a harder time on the sand dunes planets.
Hellmire can get rough. We had a civilian extract, but they just kept mercilessly walking into the fire tornados
Do a solo helldive using the spear... its actually kind of useful to take out fabricators

Fire wizard, Lightning wizard, Illusion/Shadow wizard (smokes), Abjuration wizard (shields), Evocation Wizard (all explosive weapons/stragems when the leaked ones get added), Artificer (all sentries(would suck cos sentries just die)), uhhh Laser wizard
if you need a new challenge, what about trying to find any upside to getting the Steeled Veteran warbond (totally not because I bought it and regret everything but the grenade)
i have a harder time with the bugs than with the bots. Malevelon Creek is a walk in the park compared to a charger/bile titan heavy bug map.
it's not directly malevelon creek but I think any bot planet that has the defense campaign up is extremely difficult

If they add suppressors to the marksmans rifles it would make sense and give people a reason to use them. I just hope they don't do the "gamer" thing and add negative traits that don't make sense like less damage or projectile drop-off. I doubt this though, knowing how much the dev's are into firearms and realistic gameplay elements

How about a traitor run where you complete all of the objectives while constantly being bombarded. I don't even know if you'll be able to extract like that.
I don't understand how you are hanging out at the extraction point and not getting swarmed. I just soloed a level 7 mission, let the timer run out, and slowly made my way to the extraction point and there was a ton of enemies there waiting. Lost all my samples.
Right now I think Ustotu is harder than Malevelon, I did a squad helldive on it and it was actual torture with the high heat and open desert
vs bots i feel like the sheild generator would be better then the smoke one? u could throw it infront of the panel and then do the pussle and then run.
Malevalon isn't the hardest planet, the stories and memes come from 2 bugs that made the creek legendary, there was a defense order, so civilian evac missions, they say they're 40 mins but you only get 15, but 40mins of enemy spawns!!!
it gets worse, any brave soldier who dove in at level 4 or above was screwed... the 2nd bug made it a helldive! the massacre was brutal, and the creek was lost, #rememberthecreek
