This guy is The Man at explaining things... most all other videos have a person who says extraneous b.s. that is a waste of time, but NOT this guy... to the point, no b.s., and knows what he's talking about.
Rub a white candle on the window gasket to stop if from sticking, works like a charm, and no mess.
I been looking at rv channels for years now and this man in 10 mins have given me more important information than all of the videos I have watched. I had to stop the video to write this. This man needs his own channel and needs to run for president.
I've watched several videos from this guy and he gives the most comprehensive and informative walkthrough of any dealer I've watched (and I watch a lot of these types of videos).
I would keep his video just as a backup reference to make sure I don’t forget anything to do while traveling and maintaining maintenance on this trailer, such a valuable video.
Pantry: “I do recommend that you put the heavy stuff on the bottom, it’s going to fall there anyway so…” LOL! An honest man is hard to find. 🤣
Edit. You might want to also mention that people who spend a lot of time on a laptop that that table being adjustable height can make all the difference in the world as it can be lowered an inch or so for a better typing height. Sounds minor, but it can make all the difference in the world!

Someone else said it, but that process of getting the awning out looks excruciating! I'm specifically talking about that part where you use the long tool to loosen at the beginning step. I do really like the detail in describing how to use all these components and the possible pitfalls with each. That said, very cool trailer.

@@markhaynes4386 I watch RV videos all the time (researching my future purchase) and I've never seen an awning system so badly engineered. Every other RV/trailer has a powered awning with a sensor to auto retract in winds. With this system by the time you get the awning retracted the gusty winds will be in the next state over.
My $18k Jayco had an electric awning…. 😮

Reminds me of military trainers (no nonsense and succinct). Yes, it can rub one the wrong way but he certainly knows his stuff.
All the people saying what a great salesman this guy is are blowing my mind. When you’re attempting to sell something you do not tell prospective buyers every little thing that can go wrong. I love RVs. I grew up vacationing in them every summer and his presentation makes me run in the opposite direction. The number of times he says something might “shatter” is staggering. His specific pointing out of how flimsy the awning is is comical. When you’re trying to sell something barely big enough to turn around in that probably approaches $40,000 this is NOT the guy you want on the front lines. He needs to be in the shop working on all the flimsy things when they actually break. If this is who you have on your sales floor I do not understand how you’re in business. Apologies for the brutal honesty, but good lord. You need it.
As everyone has noticed, this man is straight forward and honest. He's not a used car salesman. I find his honestly refreshing. He knows his product inside and out.
He's not a sales person. This video is meant for technical and educational purposes. I think the millions of views he receives speaks for itself.

Well, how not to sell a product. If the,re are so many nuances and potentially fault should they be sorted before sales.
That canopy retraction is awkward and difficult. Is that the best they can do for how much they charge for these? They are not cheap so that is unacceptable.

I know Airstreams are supposed to be higher quality, but man, they seem like they are lacking every single standard amenity that most modern campers offer. That awing seems like it would be useless unless it was perfect weather.

Around 7:50, makes sense to fill black tank full and let gravity rinse, add back water and the chemical and in-between dumps it will scour the walls when towing, you'll have the cleanest tank in the campground.

This is the very first video I’ve ever watched from AS DFW and I don’t know if this guy is a salesman, a service manager, or whatever but I absolutely love that he isn’t just trying to blow unicorns and rainbows up our asses. He points out where the weak points are and where consumers screw up. I’d follow him around a lot and trust what he has to say.

He is thorough; however, I am underwhelmed that such a high-end camper can have so much manual equipment on it. You can buy equal or less expensive quality campers that are much more user friendly. Besides the manual jacks and awning, why would you want the low-pressure propane connector on the back side of the camper? In the wind, I can pull my awning in to about 4' from the inside to keep my lawn chairs covered a bit and tolerate the wind well. Even the toilet is low end. (This might be a budget model as I am not an Air Stream expert.)
More automation the more failures. Analog always beats a computer chip.
@@dukeallen432 No computer chips, electric motors do the work. Why get out a drill when the motor can be in the jack, same with the awning. The truth is, it costs less to make everything manual, and that is sad in an expensive camper. No way would I buy a new one, but like the earlier models which are the same but a lot less money. I am 76 and have owned various forms of campers for 60 years having upsized when we had kids, and downsized in old age, and I stand my my original comment, not chips where there are none needed, only controls which may, but likely do not have any chips.

serious question to anyone who has a lot of experience with different brands and of course Airstream. It is a question of something I really appreciate from these walkthroughs. Do most brands have so many "Hey if this does this you could damage this so watch out"? I respect the clear guidance. For myself this is perfectly acceptable especially due to the clear information given. Just a lone weekend fishing camper this is a dream. But wife/kids and friends I'd be on edge.

This particular vehicle or camping module, according to me needs a little training at least for half of a day for a novice to understand it, and to grow sick with the user manual, but this Gentleman in a 30mins video had explained it all, till the servicing,.
Anyway nice product but, what kind of vehicle is it required to tow it???
Why are the airstream awnings not automatic?
Some of the larger Airstreams have power anwings, such as the Classic. Smaller Airstreams have manual awnings. In general, manual awning are less likely to break or fail. Fewer moving parts.
This is a Flying Cloud model. The Globetrotter and above have a power awning.

If you listen closely and critically you hear him constantly pointing out all of the bad designs in that camper. Things that are weak and flimsy, things that will melt or break if you're not careful. An awning that'll snap in the slightest breeze, not strong enough to use when it's raining. For what they charge for those things they should be far better designed and built. People who buy these have way more money than common sense. Lots of people like that. Companies like Airstream can exist because of them.
I might like to buy this trailer, but I don't own one. Show me trailer then if I buy one, you can tell me how. Just show the trailer so we can buy it.

Surprised that the dump valves are easy to freeze. Doesn’t look like a late season trailer.
I think I would prefer the hot water heater on the opposite side from the awning? Little kids could easily get burned by that? Maybe not?

So he doesn’t even show the shower, just the glass shower door to which he says it may shatter if you allow it to slam shut. Why would any manufacturer put a glass door in something that is going to bounce around a lot?
Sky does a great job of telling us everything that is wrong with this trailer and make you not want to buy it LOL. Great communicator though!

Every RV has those “sticky” new window gaskets. They just need a light coat of silicone grease and problem solved.
If I had any desire to purchase one of these, this video convinced me that they are far too complex and complicated for me to ever get any enjoyment.
