There's a reason why you use staples on the bottom of a seat. Under daily use that leather is going to be under strain and will be pulled and warped around those rivets/screws. Staples spread out the tension so it's more even and over time it will hold it's shape
I would have liked to see how you made the patterns for the vegan leather. How do you judge the foam density to use in each area? I am more interested in comfort than appearance.

Hey Dutter, good to see you again. I thought you were going to send me one of your finishing tools to review. You emailed me after I bought the others and offered to send one. I have turned many a sheet of foam into dust. LOL. They work great but definitely a practiced touch. I have gotten better and am ready to make a new motorcycle seat from the one I have. I've made several practice attempts. If you can't send a free one, how much do they cost? It's hard to be as skilled as you are with the fast cutters. :)

Hi Dutter - helpful videos and inspiring work! I noticed you're using an aerosol adhesive #77 as well as the airline glue. Why is that? What's the difference between these tow adhesives? BTW - I'm in the UK and can't find a supplier for your cutters on ebay or in the UK. Do you ship overseas? Best regards, John

great job with the vid man... i learned a lot. now, don't take what comes next serious... at around the @23:29 mark, after he drops the screw and then continues on wrestling with the cover and pulling into place, i would've lost my shit if he would've rolled the seat onto the screw and popped a hole into the new seat cover because i can totally see the following happening afterwards... "god DAMN IT! get that camera outta my face!!" and slapped the fuck out of the camera, camera goes flying, lands perfectly to get the shot of grandpa walking away quietly muttering to himself "god damn seat...." lmao! its only funny because it's what my grandpa would've done.
You didn’t show anything about building the foam on the seat pan?
I have a seat that is sewn across the back instead of pulled and stapled. How is that done?

you should put the link to the tools in the description, i want those tools!!! just started learning to custom seat and reshaping foam in my advanced upholstery class! The 8 amp electric drill i was using was too damn heavy.

It's driving me nuts I had a guy reupholster my bike seat and he missunder stood me I wanted it shaved down so it flowed with the lines on my bike but he didn't do anything to the foam and just reupholster it he did a great job on the design but it's way to bulky so I'm considering trying to shave the foam down my self but definitely worried I'll mess it up
