I'm also considering the Rock Creek Crates. Did you ever research or consider those too? If so why did you choose this over those?
I haven't heard of those crates before but tbh the first reason I looked into impact was because I needed it to collapse for my Prius. Now that I have a larger car it's not as important anymore.
I have a 70lb & 86lb Pitbull was thinking of buying these crates I would be using them for airline travel. I would need the collapsible version. Do you think they would be suitable ?
How is the paint quality? Has it chipped or scuffed at all in the process of moving it places? Do you think it would hold up to being moved multiple times in a month, possibly week, for dog shows? And, finally, do you have the cart with wheels for transport? I am considering purchasing the collapsible Great Dane size crate and the dolly but it’s such a big monetary investment. I’d love to hear your thoughts as a customer of theirs. Thank you!
To be honest, I haven't been gentle with it like I probably should have. I take it for road trips so oftentimes I have my luggage sitting on top of it in my car. Over time, that has created marks on the top of the crate. But also, I feel like this is probably a product you don't want to overly be delicate with? It's durable for a reason and might be a hassle to try to keep it in pristine condition. When I take it apart, I'm definitely not that gentle with it either. I usually push one side over with a nudge so the door or back falls down and then I'm able to collapse it from the other side. I just let it fall down and hit the bottom. I do not have the cart with wheels, I purchased it with the intent of being able to carry it brief distances. It is slightly heavy but manageable for me.
I thought of one more question… over time has the crate remained just as easy to put together or is it starting to warp/bend and become misaligned at all?

I believe the collapsible version is only allowed for airline travel if you buy the separate brackets they provide in accessories.

Taking it apart and putting it back together even now is not difficult at all. Nothing has felt warped or whatnot.
