    IMHO, the 5th Gen VFR800s are one of very best sport bikes made...EVER. From ANYONE. I’ve got an Ohlins adj. shock on mine and had the forks revalved for my weight by a racing suspension professional. Best damn bike I’ve ever owned.

    after I learned that my 5th generation VFR was sat for 5 years or more. I experienced a lack of turn in to the left at 70mph. not juddering or clicking. it had been sat on side stand for 5 years distorting the front tyre . replaced both tyres after that run. no further issues. stay safe.

    Very informative. Did you re-use the caliper bolts and if so, did you apply loctite to any of them?

      @RideWNC  Před rokem +2

      Don't use loctite or lube on the threads it changes the torque specs. As bolts are not over torqued, they are good forever.

    Thank you so much for this great video.
    When you're going to change the tire, do the brake discs have to come off?

    • @RideWNC
      @RideWNC  Před rokem +1

      No. Never remove the rotors unless you are replacing. Rotor bolts are one time use.

    Don't you use a thread locking glue for those bolts? Is it not necessary?

    • @RideWNC
      @RideWNC  Před 3 měsíci

      There is no need. Just use your torque wrench.

    I have a '98 VFR. Do I have to take the calipers off to just change the front wheel?

    • @RideWNC
      @RideWNC  Před 2 lety

      If you want the wheel to come off you do.

    RideWNC, Like the other commenters say, thank you for sharing this video and information. I will be spending birthday gift money on a torque wrench and a front wheel stand for my ‘98 vfr so I can do this maintenance and swap out my new flat

      Always buy Pitbull stands. Check FB marketplace and Craigslist for used. They are a fraction of the cost.

    Do I need to inspect the gauze filter on my Ducati 848 every oil change? I’ve always had the ducati dealer change my oil, but I would like to do it myself this time and not sure if I need to clean/inspect the gauze filter?

      If it is your first time doing it, I would say, "yes." If the dealer neglected it, then you will know. After that first time, I would say you would not need to do it again for a long time.
