    The Saucony Endorphin line has been winning runners over since 2020. The Speed 1 was a revelation to me when I first tried them. I still think it's one of the best shoes ever and the Speed 2 only improved on that. Saucony is up to the 4th version of the Speed and Pro. The Endorphin Elite is on its first version. I've run in all versions of the Speed as well as the Pro 1, 3, and 4.
    Saucony positions these shoes with the Speed as a fast daily trainer, the Pro as the racing companion to that shoe and the Elite as their top end speedster. I've found that they 100% deliver on their intention and that each of these shoes performs well and fits it's given price point. Watch the review to see my thoughts on how these three shoes match up.

      Hopefully I’ll be able to get that done soon. I really want to take the Edge Paris to the track and see how fast I can run a mile in them there. That may not happen this weekend though, between the predicted crappy weather and my kids events.
      I want to see how the Paris does head to head against the Elite and NXT % 2 especially. I haven’t run in the Vaporfly in a few months. So it will be good to get back into those to compare them.

    Thanks for the review. I’m usually a new balance runner. Want to branch out. Worried the Saucony will be a bit tight on a my little wider foot. Need to try on the Pros soon.

      Which New Balance shoes fit you the best? Perhaps I may have some of them to let you know how I think the width compares.
      I find that in general ADIDAS, Puma, Hoka and ASICS shoes tend to run a bit more narrow. Although sometimes it does depend on the model of shoe.
      Saucony I'd say has more room in the majority of their shoes. The Endorphin Elite has a lot of room in the toe box. The Speed and Pro 4 have pretty close dimensions, but the overall fit of the Pro is snugger (a closer fitting upper but not really a narrower shoe). As far as super shoes go, the Pro 4 does have a decently wide midfoot and heel.

      I've put many miles and owned a few fresh foam mores v3. I also enjoy and put many miles on the SC trainer V2. Honestly the fresh foam more are almost too roomy after 100 miles they stretch a lot. @@runwithsean

    are you going to use any of these for Cow Harbor ? ;)

      I’m itching to get the Edge Paris into a race. That will probably be my race shoe for everything this summer. The Pro 4 could make an appearance as well.
      I’d love to take the Edge Paris to run the Chicago Marathon this year. But need to see how I do in it going long.
      I’m really looking forward to the release of the Superblast 2 as well. That will have the same new foam as the Edge Paris, more of it, and be more stable. It will also be heavier. Most likely either the Pro 4, Edge Paris or Superblast 2 will be my Chicago Marathon shoe.

    What was your average heart rate for each shoe? It would make for an interesting comparison to gauge effort vs actual pace.

    • @runwithsean
      @runwithsean  Před 3 měsíci +1

      6:53 mile in the Speed 4 average heart rate 149, max was 160.
      6:27 mile in the Pro 4 average heart rate was 159, max was 169.
      6:12 mile in Endorphin Elite average heart rate was 151, max was 160.
      The most efficient shoe of the 3 based on heart rate was the Elite. Had about the same heart rate as the Speed 4, while running a 41 second faster mile and on my last rep (when I’d expect my heart rate to be more elevated).

      @@runwithsean interesting take from heart rate perspective. Do you have heart rate number on superblast shoe?

    • @runwithsean
      @runwithsean  Před 3 měsíci +1

      @@johnsonch7292 I haven't matched up the Superblast with any shoe specifically to see how my heart rate compares between them. I will say that the Superblast is one of my favorite shoes overall. It's combination of speed, comfort, durability, weight for its size, and ride quality is hard for any shoe to match.
      It also is more efficient than a regular daily trainer. Perhaps I'll match that up with the Speed 4. I am also really liking the Brooks Hyperion Max as a long run shoe.
      I've very excited to try the Superblast 2 when that comes out in July. I'll definitely be matching those up when I get the V2.

    do you normally have a thumbs width in speed/pro? or do you lik these snugger?

    • @runwithsean
      @runwithsean  Před 3 měsíci

      I generally need a 12.5 in Saucony shoes. The Speed 4 had much more room in that size than the previous models. So I wish that I got those in a 12. The Pro 4 actually has less than a thumbnail in a 12.5. But that’s ok in that shoe. As long as my toes aren’t right up against the front of the shoe, which they aren’t. The upper also fits me much more snugly in the Pro 4 than the other two. Which I definitely prefer.
