Thank you. I like your tutorials, they are clear and to the point and sometimes humorous. So top of the day to you and looking forward to more of your informative videos. Keep up the humour. Thank you.
Thanks for the lovely comment!
If there's ever a topic you'd like me to cover on here please feel free to suggest and I'll get on it (with as much humour as I can muster 😉)
Sorenson Squeeze RIP 😢
Excellent overview and it's good to know them all.
Good video. My favorite is JKL trim.
Can you not do that in other NLEs?? I use that all the time!!
Great video
Thanks Alvin! I'm actually down your way at the moment!

I miss the create custom meta data column it been so long since I used MC that I have forgotten about it, but why can’t Final Cut Pro do this, bizarre. FCP can do the different audio mix export but in a different way, I love this feature and I like MC’s visual click on the tracks to select what goes into each mix down
Here's a very small tip. You can copy/paste any finder folder path into the source browser to jump to that folder path in the browser.
Oh yeah! We used that A LOT on the animated feature "Scrooge". Even wrote a script to automatically ingest targa sequences that hinges on that exact feature. I find it's more useful on Windows though as it's easier to copy a file path on Windows.
definitely all negative comments come from people who haven't edited a film with avid. if you try to make a real estate video with lot of flashy texts and transitions, you will not be comfortable in avid, but for a feature or any long form work, avid is at least 30 years ahead of everything. still today.
30 years is wild 😂
@@BlackDeath1817 try it to edit next avatar movie and you will yourself say 31 years ahead.
😀
how I can work without proxy mp4 files just a pain to make proxy size is so large in avid I move to resolve for edit now
The answer is to use Resolve. You can make smaller proxies (see ingesting media videos) but avid needs avid media to work well. Linking to media and cutting with the source doesn't play well with avid.
The one export thing I wish avid did was be able to export say 5 20 second promos from the same timeline using multiple in and out points. I do versioned promos and the two options are make a separate timeline for each version (too many sequences and too time consuming to set up) or have all the spots on the same timeline and export each using in and out points. I want to be able to export them all at once as a batch..
I'd subclip them all out, use bulk edit to name them and then select all and export. Shouldn't take too long for only 5. I regularly do this for 15+ seqs
That takes longer than just setting in and outs for each one with markers and exporting. I have tried all the methods available.
How the hell you versioning them if they all in the same timeline? You are completely using the program wrong, complaining and then not listening when someone just explained the correct way to work.
