Catching MONSTER Pike on the Fly Rod! 3 Day Float Through The Rocky Mountains

Welcome back to the channel! This time on Unguided, we change it up and go after that freshwater bite! After Elk Camp 2023, we decided to make the best of my last few days out west and put the raft in for a 3 day float down the Clark Fork River, near Missoula, Montana. As a previous employee of Kenai Cache Outfitters in Alaska, I was no stranger to using a fly rod. However, I had never even fished water that had Northern Pike in it. These things are HUGE! It is am absolute thrill to catch them on the fly, and I was able to capture a lot of good hookups in this video. We camped on the bank of the river every night, and continued to just get bit into the night using spinner rods and cut bait. We also picked up some beautiful rainbow trout using this method. If you've been there, you know the absolute beauty of this state, and this area is top of the list. Catching these prehistoric river monsters in this wild and stunning landscape is something I'll never forget and I can't wait until I can get back out there and do it again.
