Mike McCarthy was kept on in Dallas, simply because of the offense that he installed. Once a QB learns the West Coast Offense, he very rarely leaves it. If Dak stays then McCarthy stays. Rather than risking Dak having to start over in another system. Jerry’s unwavering support of Dak Prescott, trickled down to McCarthy. And rightly so… if it were up to me the coach would stay and the QB would leave the Dallas Cowboys/

Dak needed to go. He didn't, so that cements the Cowboys to be losers for another year. His supporters will bang the drum for him, and then make excuses for him next year when it goes south. Wash, rinse and repeat.

They’re just in a nightmare situation. 59 million dollar cap hit. No trade clause. And a little above average QB. For all of their top scouting and building through the draft, emotion still gets in the way of progress.
