Wow / was looking at the “ambient temp” section of 50 degrees C (122 f) and that would make it off limits to many attics. Before I replaced shingles with metal, I measured my attic at 135 degrees in the summer. It’s easy to look at 60-c or 90-c and blow it off, but that’s not unreachable in some areas of a home. Thanks for todays lesson.

PVC is the best for underground and outside use. Didn't get the new Handbook 2023 code book yet, working on it.

Hi there Coach- I ran across this the other day.
Can you enlighten us about the newer ProPress plumbing fittings and their bonding properties?
I had a water heater replacement situation and was wondering about the bonding effectiveness of those copper ProPress fittings. Thanks!

    What's special about a "theater"?

Do you have a educational video of PVC conduit shrinkage calculations. There's a table on the PVC chapter but I'm having a hard time understanding.

What does "subject to physical damaage" imply. I am runnong a generator inlet thourgh 3/4" PVC. Some of the conduitwill be on the outside all of a brick house and some of it will be on the basement wall running into side the panel. Both of those locations, in theory could be subject to physical damage.

When you figure out what it means you tell me lol jk it's very subjective

    Why not in a theatre?

Does the PVC have to be secured within 12 inches of a box? I think I've heard that non metallic cables have this requirement.

For a generator inlet box, I ran schedule 40 PVC gray conduit from the lower left side of the main panel up the basement wall and out though the foundation into a PVC LB. then up the outside wall into the inlet box. #6 THWN cable is in the conduit. Total length about 12 with 8' in the house and 4' outside. There are a couple of sweep 90s in the hosue. Do I need to redo it with EMT?

Not sure where it is in the code, but PVC is not allowed in plenum space due to lack of fire and fume retardation. The fumes are toxic, in fact if burned/melted.
