y'all joking right? Bradley facilitated that whole game every shot on target Bradley had something to do with it. Our attack is nice Iceland was just sitting back with like eight players in the box so we weren't getting great openings.

In the highlights we don't see a lot of actions from Lee Nguyen (except for 1 perfect pass to Zardes who should have put the ball in the goal) but if you watched the entire game he was very involved in the attacks from the midfield. He linked well with Bradley and Jones. He controlled the ball with confidence and made some good runs into the box. It seemed Klinsmann used Lee in the same position Dempsey used to play. In my opinion Lee accomplished his task. We'll probably see him more in upcoming games.
I watched most of the game and I agreed with you. Mr. Nguyen did well as a midfielder / and I'm glad to see an Asian face in USMNT.

The only first team players who played in this game today are Bradley and Altidore (maybe) so inb4 we almost lost to the Icelandic C team or what not. I agree our defense is atrocious and needs to be fixed but we were also missing Cameron, Brooks, and Yedlin who are easily our 3 best defenders. And for those who are quick to criticize Iceland obviously had never watched them qualify for Euro 2016, when the beat the Netherlands twice.

And Iceland qualified for the euros in a very hard group.
Zardes and Jermain Jones are also consistent starters. And yes Iceland is very good but it looks as though none of their A players were on. This is not a good showing for US. Defense looks to still be terrible but it's only a friendly so we can't judge 2016 after this.
U.S. still has many concerns. How will Klinsmann fix the defense? Who will replace Zardes and Yedlin if they don't improve? Should US still roll with the bad form Guzan or Howard or should they look to the younger keepers like Bill Hamid and Jesse Gonzales?
We won't get a true answer to these until US plays Guatemala in March.
You are correct about Iceland people laugh at me for this but they are to lookout for in years to come and came close qualifying in the past

The US got a lot of help from the referee to win this game. The 2nd goal the US scored was because they got a second chance corner kick which should of been an Iceland goal kick instead. And the US winning goal was because the referee made a very favorable goal kick call for the US which looked like a dive by the US.

not really a big fan of the us anymore, in 2013 they were very good then came the disappointing world cup and abysmal 2015 gold cup performances, and then they lost a bunch of friendlies and screwed up chances to qualify for the olympics. and now they celebrate because they struggled to beat iceland and beat canada.

What does the size of a country have to do with the skill their football/soccer team? That's right, nothing. Iceland also did really good at the Euro 2016 qualifications.
Typical USMNT haters. Since we were victorious, they have to target our performance in the game. We understand that at times we lacked defensive wise, but we still came out on top at the end of the day. A win is a win, as simple as that. On the other hand, there is no correlation between the small population of Iceland and nations' soccer skills. A nation could have a population of 500, and still be one of the best in soccer.
