I miss my brother every time I hear this song. He's been mostly out of my life for the past 12 years, now. We still talk from time to time but it's not the same. Cherish your siblings, people. You never know when they'll be gone.

Underrated song.
My brother is addicted to heroin and K2. I see him here and there, but i can't stand to see him. I try to ignore the sickening pain i feel in my heart seeing him, a bag of bones. His eyes are dead and he is no longer the same person. He's gone. I wonder if he's still in there somewhere.
@@tortilla846 he’s definitely still in there. If he hasn’t done anything reprehensible and hurt your family in some major way (besides hurting himself of course), then maybe you could try to talk to him and help him?
I’m speaking as a former heroin addict (both my older brother and myself both went through heroin addiction at different times). I definitely understand both your point of view (I hated my brother when he went through it) and his point of view (I went through it myself). The worst feeling in the world is the feeling that everyone else has given up on you.
That isn’t to say that there aren’t times when completely cutting an addict off is the only option. Sometimes you have to cut them off completely to protect yourself/your family.
My brother is a toxic narcissist. I had no choice but to cut him out of my life. It hurts but I refuse to share his anger and entertain his heartlessness towards me. This song hits the nail on how I feel towards my brother and how painful yet necessary it was to leave him behind.
So much emotion in that guitar solo. Gets me every time.

kwilt I know man, I know. The last guitar part touches my soul every time I hear it. It's unbelievable how much someone else's output can touch you in ways you never knew. I can feel exactly what Brenden is trying to convey when he plays.
