I've been with my boyfriend for 15yrs both have cerebral palsy♿♿ can't get married because we will lose our health insurance, we met online spent a year & a half of that time apart, my advice is to truly enjoy whatever time you have together, those times will be what carries you through when you are not together much like you said go in with no expectations, accept them for everything that they are (yes even their flaws) communication is key even more so across the miles ♥️ best of luck to you both long distance love can be so hard but so worth it in the end ♥️

I finally got to be with my long-distance boyfriend in May. I live in the US and he lives in the UK, and everything was just so natural!! Now we are both struggling to get jobs so that he can come here and visit and hopefull soon after move here! Long-distance relationships can work and it is amazing!

The irony!!! Lol I have a Scottish boyfriend. And I’m from the states. We meet over well long story short over a game online . Wasn’t anything in the beginning but we literally talked day and night every single day and we decided to make things serious. However we haven’t seen each other! If it’s not my job its his and even loss of family members, we haven’t had the opportunity to see each other face to face. We video chat every single weekend. We text/call during the week because of work and well time differences. But finally this September on our 4th yr anniversary of knowing each other we are meeting . I’m headed to Scotland for 6 months. And yesssss the commentary of friends/family or others on how dumb we are for doing things long distance is annoying and well people don’t understand the level of maturity it takes to deal with not seeing your significant other! It definitely takes patience and trust. Without those two things you won’t make it . Sucks not being able to hold him or kiss him or simply just hang out and do normal couple things. But to do what we have done with our limited contact I 100% believe I know him and he knows me on a deeper level then your typical relationships. We got to know each others soul , mind and patience. Which for me it makes things so much better I feel more secure and sure of my relationship then I’ve ever been with others who were physically next to me. I love love and I’m happy for you both .
