- Chris Evans and Taika Waititi sat down with Radio 1's Film Critic Ali Plumb to talk up Disney Pixar's latest, Lightyear, but somehow ended up chatting about Thor Ragnarok quotes, memorable directors' notes, forgetting old friends' names and - what with it being Chris's birthday at the time of recording and all - Twitter's favourite photos of The Man Formerly Known As Captain America. Ali Plumb is THE BEST interviewer. Not only is he genuine and hilarious but he comes off as so comfortable with some of the biggest celebs right now (not always the case in interviews). He asks great questions rather than the same stuff we always hear. Love him!!!

He is literally the best, and every celebrity loves doing interviews with him.
He's the ultimate example, bench mark and definition of what a people person is. Wonderful confidence and can speak to ANYONE all the way from top to bottom of the person's personality spectrum

No matter what the film or series is, I always look forward to Ali's interviews.
I love the fact that both Chris and Taika met whilst they were part of the Marvel universe and they get to work on a Disney/Pixar film. It’s not lost on me that Disney owns Marvel but Chris is a good actor and Taika is just exquisitely talented!

I was so excited when I found out that the press tour was going to London because I knew they'd have to do an Ali interview and this was so good.
Taika waititi sounds like his voice is putting him to sleep.HAHAHA
As I recall they usually have to do a lot of press for each movie released, so they will be tired from going from place to place. Jetlagged even. He might indeed be quite tired, but not related to the questions.

I always look forward to a Plumb interview. I know how much it must stink to be in the position where you've interviewed the same people a half dozen or more times, not that you don't enjoy talking to them but now have to think up new interesting and engaging questions (for both the actors and the CZcams viewer) each time, and you can't talk about the movie in any meaningful way aaand... GO!
It's one of those things I've seen people complain about, "He didn't even talk about the movie!" without understanding what they're complaining about. Yeah, if he didn't it's because he basically can't. Everything we know about the movie is in the trailer at this point and the actors can't elaborate on anything that happens outside of those moments. So, he has to be charming, which he is, has to be funny, which he is, has to be kind and respectful to the actors, which he is, and make something to entertain us out of it in the end... which, we're here aren't we?
So, I appreciate the effort you put into these Ali. You do a great job and your interviews are some of my favorite comfort entertainment. I'll binge the Marvel interviews, or check out something else that you've done for a couple hours. It's never a bad time.

This interviewer usually gets good rapport going, but I felt like neither of them were in the mood to match his energy here lol. Taika seems surprisingly miserable tbh. It was funny how the interviewer said he quotes movies in his everyday life and then Chris Evans basically insulted people who quote movies and thinks they should rethink their lives. 😂HARSH!

They did say that it was early. So they could have still been tired. Plus they most likely had to travel there, and may not have gotten much sleep from that. I also don't think Chris was being seriously about that. He did admit that he quotes The Office. So he was being harsh on himself, too,
I know I've seen at least one other interview that mentions it being Chris's birthday so who knows how many they had to do that day.

Im still kinda surprised the movie umderperformed.. I loved it.. I didnt expect a toystory movie.. I just expected a movie about an astronaut called Buzz Lightyear who took his job a bit too seriously.. And the movie totally delivers..

If it helps Ali I regularly quote movies in my every day life. A lot of Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings mainly. I will say however that there is no such thing as an unflatting picture of Chris Evans.
